I've never tried the Federal bulk brand. I'll have to order a box.

For general target shooting, I'll use bulk ammo from Remington or Winchester. For anything more serious, I go right to the CCI Velocitor round. If I'm out of those, I'll use CCI Min-Mag rounds. What are you folks using?

Thanks. Unfortuneately, from the many reviews I've read, the Chiappa comes in last place on the list as far a customer satisfaction. The GSG gets pretty high marks, but so does the Umarex. I'm still relatively new to the hobby, but what made me choose the Umarex over the other two, are it's looks, the reviews I've read about it and the others and the fact that it is made by Carl Walther.
I'll provide some additional feedback once I get it, although, I really don't have anything to compare it to since it will be my 1st handgun.

I applied for 6 at one time (my father was giving me a few of his old collectible guns so I needed multiple permits). They don't expire for 90 days. You can use one on the first day you get them. A second 30 days later and a 3rd 30 days after that. You can then have the additional permits extended for 90 days and start over again.
Much easier and quicker to have permits extended than to have have to go thru the whole application process again.
Yea, stupid a** me didn't realize I could have applied for more than (1) at a time. So now, I'm stuck waiting for my (1) get be approved, so I can go back 30-days later and go though the same crap for a couple more. Live and learn, I guess.

Not much to say about me, other than I like radio communications and just now getting into firearms. I stumbled across this sight while searching about NJ pistol laws. I currently have a couple Ruger 10/22 rifles and just ordered a new Colt-Umarex 1911 .22LR Semi-Auto (Rail version). I'm still trying to understand how/if the process of obtaining a handgun in NJ is different then obtaining the firearm's ID. I submitted all the paperwork for the handgun permit, but wasn't sure what to expect. The police station said I should have it in no more than 30-days.
Here's the pistol that I mentioned that I'll use this permit for.
