Twice. Both times Range 14. They didn't inspect. Just asked. I said they were pinned and that was that. I don't get too bothered by it. I guess it depends on how they ask. Both times it was not in a rude or aggressive way so not an issue to me.

I just meant if they ask you: What are you shipping? Are we obligated by any type of regulation to tell them?
I'm asking outside of just firearms and not just the UPS store. If the person behind the counter whether it's
FedEx, USPS, UPS asks what you are shipping do you have to declare (firearm/ammo or other)?
Anyone know more about this?

Do you have to tell them what's in the box?

Before the hype I got replies within an hour. The vendors here are great.
The thing is I've asked a few of them for price requests directly by e-mail
and they've all come back and told me they simply cannot get their hands
on anything right now.

Do you guys know if the 15 round mags are grandfathered in or you have to surrender them?
Are you allowed to sell them to a resident of a state which does allow hi cap mag in the event
the mag limit passes?

The Shield wins in another category: Scarcity.

I was trying out my new hand loads through my Kimber TLE RL II yesterday and they were great. They
functioned 100%. Then I tried some Speer Gold Dot 230gr I picked up a while ago just to see if they'd
run through the gun fine. I repeatedly had this issue where on the last round the slide would lock back
but the round would be in the chamber. It was out of the mag, and it fed into the chamber, but was just
kinda hanging out. A couple times it failed to go into battery.
I was able to replicate this problem consistently if I put in one two rounds the top one being a Speer Gold
Dot.
It then dawned on me that a while ago I changed out to a lighter recoil spring. I believe either a 16 or 14lb.
Do you think this is what is causing the malfunction as the Gold Dot is pretty hot ammo and the light spring
is meant for my light target loads?
-
For me it has to shoot every kind of factory ammo. I find it unacceptable that a pistol require a specific ammunition. Unless it's of course some special target or custom gun. I also think it should be able to run dirty and a little dry. My mark of reliabiliy would be at least 500 rounds with no malfuntions without cleaning.
My Sig 228, Beretta 92G, and after a little sanding of the slide stop my Kimber TLE RL II were able to hit that mark. Surprisingly niether of my Glocks have.

Now that I've thought it over I probably will just NOT do this. But I was considering cleaning my
guns out on my patio since some of the solvents I use have a very strong smell that take a long
time to air out.
My concern was that a neighbor would see and call the cops. I don't think that would be considered
having a firearm out in public though since technically it is still my property right?
Probably not worth the risk but just thought I'd ask.

How hard is it and do I need a ton of tools? Looked up a couple videos on youtube and seems the main thing
you need is a hammer and brass punch and a vice.
I want to install the Dawson Precision adjustable sights on my TLE RL II. If I send it to them it's $75 plus shiping
to install which is a little steep.
One final note, I have the Meprolight tritium nightsights on there which I hear can shatter if not done correctly.
Anyone do this as a semi-novice? Or you recommend I don't take chances and send in my slide?

I guess it's just for fun. Obviously not practical. You gotta have a lot of money to burn. One go around with that
thing and it's about $30 or so in ammo. To me it's a waste because I don't think you can really practice any real
skill set with that thing and obviously you won't be practicing any reloads! Haha.
I'm not gonna lie though it would be kinda fun to put 100 rounds down range continuously.

Looking at the.numbers on Glock's website its the same size overall and about 3.5 oz lighter. On a gun that's over 30 oz that's not a big difference.
I'm surprised it weights that much being as small as it appears with a polymer frame. Yeah 3.5oz is not a ton.
Edit: I just did a little google fu and seems the G30SF is around 20oz according to Glocks Website, so if the
30S is around 17 I'd say that is pretty light for a pistol that can hold 10 rounds of 45acp.
I think you were referring to loaded weight which for the 30 is at around 33oz.

It's true they don't bump you to the top if you're a member. You get a ticket. I'm a current member.

Think I might get a g30s
I didn't consider it at first, but there are a lot of good things being said about it. It's supposedly a very significant difference over the standard 30. In terms of size and weight.
-
So now that Glock has introduced the G30S, why would anyone bother to buy a G30?
It's heavier, thicker, and doesn't really offer any advantage that I can think of. I
wonder if they'll discontinue it. Anyone know a reason to get a standard 30 over the
30S? Doesn't make sense to me.

As others have said the 40 will always be snappier than the 9. 40 is by nature a snappy round which is why I don't like it
and never intend on owning a 40. Personally I would take the 17 over the 22 cause of my bias toward 9mm. Glocks do
a great job managing recoil so in 9mm you really can appreciate the design.

Round count on your recoil spring, ever been replaced? I'm only guessing or suggesting and trying to help, limp-wristing will also cause a lot of problems. There is a test to see if your recoil spring on the Glock is good or not.
I don't think the gun has seen more than 500 rounds.
With the gun clear rack the slide...pull the trigger while pointing the gun towards the sky...keeping the gun pointed vertically...pull the slide to the rear and ride it slowly forward...if it hangs up u need a new guide rod assembly
I will give this a try. Thanks.

I've shot Blazer Aluminum case which ran fine, Winchester Ranger 147gr, and Freedom Munitions 115gr. I believe all the stalls have been with the Freedom Munitions
only cause that's all I have right now for factory ammo. I don't think it's the ammo cause the stuff actually feels like it is on the hotter side
which Glocks tend to like. It also goes through all my other pistols very well. In any case I'd be very shocked to find a Glock that did not
like a particular factory, round nosed ammo.

I have a Gen 4 G34. I am having had of it failing to feed. It seems to actually be sensitive
to having too little lubrication. Now I know the normal response is "well any gun is". That's not
entirely true as my Sig 228, my G26, and even 1911 function pretty reliably even when they have not
been lubricated in a while.
I think it's something specific to my 34 as I noticed if you ride the slide slowly there is this spot where
it stalls right before it goes fully into battery. My 26 doesn't do this and no other Glock I have handled
experienced this.
Basically when shooting the "stall" kinda hangs up the next round from feeding properly. I've had about
8 or so FTFeeds in the last 150 or so rounds. The issue was more pronounced in warm weather.
When it is lubricated it operates very smooth, but the issue seems to creep back only after a couple
hundred rounds. I may make a video to demonstrate what is going on, but if you guys have any ideas
let me know. Thanks.

What rifle shoots this?

Do you have to report that to the police? Sorry to hear about that man.
You can always save up some extra coin to get a decent used long gun and
handgun so you can stay in the game without breaking the bank.

Springfield MC Loaded Operator, still pulls on my heart strings.
The way the frame is cut at the front at that angle and how it matches the slide is awesome. I wanted one of these but they were too hard to find.

Hey Jon sorry to hear about your rifle. I believe I handled it back a while ago when we shot a steel match together. It was
very sweet. Hope you can get it fixed and glad no one got hurt.
UPS Store will NOT ship firearms or loaded ammo!!

You missed the part where I said I'm talking about other than firearms. I'm saying if you ship something and they ask what you are shipping do you have to answer? We ve established if it's a gun you have to. I'm asking generally speaking. I always thought it was a private matter and you did not have to say unless it was required. Just verifying if that's the case.
