  1. Photo of the totality my wife took with her SLR:

There was some bright pink/ruby light at about 7 o'clock that was really cool. You can see a hint of it in the photo.

Moment of totality looking West (From the VT side towards Plattsburgh NY) over Lake Champlain:XTvIN8A.mp4

If you zoom in, you can see Venus at 5 o’clock a little less than halfway between the eclipse and the mountains.

  2. Took the wife and kid up to Lake Champlain (South Hero, VT) for a few days to see the eclipse from the totality zone. It is so nice and calm here. The weather is crisp (going to be 61 today, but we had snow flurries on Saturday) and clear. We booked our place last spring - so we got a cheap rate. Got our glasses when we booked our cottage.

Hope everyone enjoys it and stays safe!

  3. Wouldn’t say he was solely responsible in developing that as a rule. Or that he was the only one teaching it. I mean, on its face, Rule Three seems to be a pretty self evident rule - until you become a firearms instructor and see how dumb people get when they pick up a gun. Also, if you watch any of the old training videos for Military or LE (WWII and Korea era) you will see some pretty disturbing gun handling being taught - or at any rate, not corrected.

But, he was the one to condense the rules down to only four (I have seen accounts of instructors having over a dozen “safety” rules) and to push them to be a universal standard. He is also responsible for the creation of the 4 conditions of readiness, the color code of situational awareness, and is the primary creator of the modern technique of handgun shooting as we currently know it.

I'm doing my part. I just ordered some 10 rounders for the DWXc that I'm buying. Murphy's law dictates that the law is reversed as soon as I get them.

Standard capacity mags for the win.

    I hope so.

If I could only change one NJ Gun Law, it would be to deep six any and all magazine restrictions. That law, in my opinion, has the greatest effect on gun owners in our state.

But what is the claimed point or advantage of such a holster, given that every guide to gun handling good practice that I have ever seen dictates that no finger is to be placed on the trigger until the target is acquired? The first pictured example also appears to me to present an unacceptable risk of losing the firearm in strenuous activity.

Rule 3 as we know it didn’t become universal until 1976 when Cooper started teaching it.

Before then, trigger finger disciple as a universal rule was non existent. The common belief was the faster you could touch the trigger, the better.

A lot of the holster designs are “classic” and made more for looks than utility - in my opinion.

Personally, if you are carrying in a holster that doesn’t cover the trigger, you are behind the power curve. You have either not kept up with modern TTPs or you care more about appearance than function. Either way - that’s a no-go in my book.

  6. Re: the Clip Draw - I didn’t think anyone actually used them. I’m all about AIWB, but there is no way in hell I’m carrying a gun at appendix without the trigger being covered.

As to the leather - I don’t think I’ve ever seen holsters like that with the trigger exposed. Seems counter-intuitive to me.

I do need to get a couple of wedges… which ones are you using?

The Tenicor has a wedge built in to the holster.

HE may be using the Vedder wedge since he is using a Vedder Holster.  The wedges are universal fit.  They are $14.99 each on Vedder's website PLUS shipping.   Vedder also sells the same wedges on Amazon with 2 day free prime shipping. This thread reminded me to order a couple so it was cheaper and quicker from Amazon! Link below.

I’m using a Tenicor rig. Not using Vedder.

IMO, of all the AIWB rigs I have tried, Tenicor is far and away the best.

so......i carry the left hand version of apendix carry. i carry a g19 with a holosun dot and a pl mini wml. i use a vedder kydex holster for this combo. i've got a tulster for this same combo minus the

light(which i'll be switching to since we've got longer days now). both have a claw on them.  i always wear a "wife beater" under my normal shirt, (sorry if that term offends anyone it's not meant that way) which is normally some

form of pull-over. today was a black walmart special long sleeve tee(i wear these for work). when i checked myself in the mirror, i felt that i'd concealed the tool perfectly fine.

i got to work, was still opening things up when the pd that i do work for shows up with a vehicle leaking coolant. i'm chatting with him for a bit, and outta nowhere, he chuckles, points at my belt, and

asks me "whatcha got goin' on there?" i told him it was my carry. after i'd changed and got to work on his vehicle, i asked him if he'd spotted it because he looks for them now or if i did something to give

it away? he said that there was a lump showing there. now when i look down my front, all i see is the lump where the tool is.

i'm skinny. i only weigh about 180. not big in the chest area either, so my shirts don't hang very far away from my belly. but i gotta ask.......how the hell do i hide this thing better?

    What belt are you using?

Are you using any kind of wedge?

Get rid of any plastic clips you have and use Discrete Carry Concepts belt clips. Make sure the clips are sized to your belt.

Make sure you have some kind of a belt camming bar on your holster.

I carry my G19 with RDS and light (TLR7a) in a Tenicor Sagax Lux on an Ares Gear belt every day and have no issues. The Tenicor holsters come with an integral wedge and adjustable camming bar. They are great holsters. You should try them - (you may have to get a different light, not sure if your setup is compatible).

Mine was approved on March 5 and they don't show any approvals for my town in March at all.

It’s still March. The data isn’t reported to the State portal until the next month.

Every Chief of Police has to upload the previous month’s CCW data (approval/rejection) to an online portal on the first of the next month. March’s data won’t get uploaded until AFTER April 1.

Look at the data. There are no results for March 2024

This is per NJAG Directive 2023-02

The state admitted in court that they had no data showing CCW holders commit more crimes.

Skip to 14:25 to hear Col Callahan speak on this a bit.
