  1. Back in August I moved to Mount Holly. I've decided not to pursue CoA for my FID. I will vote with my feet finally in the summer when my lease is up here and cross the bridge. However, if NJ2AS is still pursuing these clowns, check this out:

First if you see they send a letter of reference to your employer. Second, they outright state on the website process will take a MINIMUM of 3 months! Can't wait to get out of this armpit.

I'm nearby that area, I'm pretty sure Asbury is a "village" in Franklin Township. Here's their website: http://franklintwpwarren.org/

Don't quote me, but I think Franklin Township is policed by the Perryville NJ State Police barracks like my town. It took me over 80 days for permits.  So, good luck. LOL.

But, call the # on the muni. website to confirm that. Don't quote me. They should also be able to tell you if there is a discharge ordinance.

Oh and... welcome to da 'hood!

I can confirm they are policed by NJSP. One of my sisters lives in Asbury. That's an area that makes you forget it's Jersey. Just beautiful up there.

We discussed this almost exactly a year ago.

NJSP use commonly used practice ammo. Nothing weird.

New Brunswick had similar issues broken extractors and cracked frames with their 229s in .40 as well. They use the exact same practice and duty ammo that my agency does.

NBPD were told by the Sig rep to look into the Legacy Series with the old style extractor. He said it's because it would fit their existing holsters better. When asked point blank if it was really because the new extractors were garbage the rep clammed up and got all uncomfortable.

That certainly changes the perception if other departments have the issue.

As annoying as it is to respond without Tapatalk I will.

Scroll up in first link from where OP  Copied and Posted False Info.  Reciprocity does exist that is an exception.  Absolutely NJ Resident with NH Permit can carry concealed in PA.  Unless new AG changes rules.  If they do PAFOA Forum will be all over it.  This is why threads like this need to go away.  2 people posting wrong info.

I was looking for clarification, not posting false information.

Even after a mod posted links to disprove your above post, you posted it anyway.  Maybe you should just sell all your guns, just to be safe.

I will because Ray Ray said so.

Can a Mod please just delete this thread.  Not sure why Firearms Owners in NJ look for reasons to have their Second Amendment Rights infringed.  We don't need misinformation being spread by OP.

I will strongly disagree with you. As a newer firearms enthusiast myself, I didn't think any of the posts above clarify anything. I also believe the OP is being cautious, not "looking for reasons to have their 2A rights infringed".

Unless PA has not kept their info current, he has a point. Does it matter that the NH/PA agreement doesn't specify residency? If the PA law states you must be a resident of the state you have the CCW in, I would be inclined to abide by that in PA. That sucks for me as well because I was looking to do the same thing. I must be missing something too. You should delete my post.

Way to welcome a newbie to the forum. Eating our own still...

  6. That's why I'm blown away. This will be it for me for a while though. With these 3 I'll end having all the handguns I wanted once I have the coin to get them all LOL. Anything else after this will be rifles. I see myself turning into a collector of those. I never shot one other than in boy scouts over 30 years ago lol. But there are some nice ones out there.

  7. Not sure if you have cubicles, offices or what. But once me and a couple of co workers wrappes ever damn thing on someons desk in tin foil, the computer, screen, keyboard, chair, the cubicle desk. his side of the cubicle walls, every little on on his desk, in the drawers. It was a lot of work, but the pay off was worth it.

  8. Brakes and tires.

Make sure you ck them, ck them often.

You're not getting more than 10k out of tires.

I disagree. Bought my bike June 2015 brand new. It has just over 14,000 miles on it now with the original tires on it. Can definitely get to 20k before needing a change. This is my steed:

  9. how is that any different than someone knocking you out and taking your keys?

Good point indeed. But when it comes to firearm safes, I still maintain what I said. At least a combo (whether electronic or manual) seems more secure than RFID. Slower but we don't know the difference at this point as it's just getting traction now.

  10. I guess to me the obvious issue is someone can knock your ass out and hold your chip up to the safe/furniture/whatever. I just bought a Tacoma with the keyless ignition. It's cool, but really someone can punch me in the face by surprise grab my FOB and go. It just doesn't seem secure to me. I think it's a fast solution for sure, rather than trying to turn a combo or press some buttons. It just seems too easy to gain unauthorized access.

  11. I believe the plan was sound, but not many signed up for it.

The "catch 22" is the "have you ever been denied a permit before?" question. No one wants to be first to jeopardize their mythical future NJ CCW permit.

I wonder how many out of state ccw permits there are in NJ?

Forget just mythical NJ CCW permit, this is asked on the normal NICS form (whatever Form number it is you all always refer to it as). Who the hell would want to mark that box? I agree with you using the word "mythical". I'll continue to support the organizations fighting for 2A, but there is no way we will see much change in this state. I'll apply for a NH permit just so I can bring my guns to PA and not worry about an issue there. I can hit the range a mile away on lunch and shoot. It's been so long this state has dealt with this. I just don't see a huge shift.

Back on the OP. This guy is an idiot (not the OP himself, but this Rob dude). Almost like he knows the result and will get off on people getting screwed based on his recommendation.

  12. Riding in NJ feels like playing a video game with all the road hazards and distracted bad drivers trying to take you out.

A riding course will just get you an endorsement and on the road...  Becoming a competent rider will take many more miles.  Don't take it lightly, man.  I've seen too many guys get really hurt.

Try to ride with a group when you can.  Safety and visibility in numbers.

Group riding is only as good as the poorest rider. I don't have any friends that ride. I would never go on and charity or other event group ride because you have no clue who is around you. Trust who you ride with in a group.

  13. I hear you, that's an whole another hot button issue with me, $65 for the bike reg and  $46.50 for the car. How does the state come up with that? you think they would reward you for having a lesser fuel consumption but we all know the higher reg fee  its because they aren't getting the extra taxes on the bike fuel so they whack us at DVM. Just more money for them to waste, that's what all the stupid proposed gun laws are for, its smoke & mirrors to get the public's eye off the big picture, the waste....

Oh but we do get a little break without having to go through inspection with our bikes.

I've had people piss and moan at me because I parked in a parking space (where else would I park LOL). I say to them "See this rectangular metal thing with the numbers and letters? I paid more for this than your rectangular thing with numbers and letters so go pound sand".

  15. LMAO.

Yeah, im going to get a 600-750 Cruiser. I'm not big on the sports bikes. I have (soon to be two) young kid(s) and am young myself. The last thing i want is to get myself seriously injured or killed... As it is im second guessing getting a bike just because of them. Not big on going fast, anyways. Until a few weeks ago my top speed was like 90 in my truck on the NJTPK. Then i hit 104 or so in my fathers R8 (he let me take it for a spin, and i figured why not after a bit of peer pressure, lol). Fastest i'd gone before that was actually 100 even on my Snowmobile on a lake up in Old Forge... Arctic cat F8 LXR (800).

Anywho, not looking for speed. I want safety/comfort... Going to get an older, used cruiser for a bit.. Once i get the hang of things, ill upgrade to something newer. A Black Kawasaki Vulcan looks like my dream bike right now, or something along those lines. I think they are GORGEOUS.

This is the right attitude man. Even if you have the small bike for a couple of months it's worth it and you'll get your money back. I started out on a Honda Shadow for a year then went to my Harley. I definitely wouldn't have done it any other way.

Graduating from an MSF class, although is enough to get the M, it's qualifies you to ride around a parking lot. No sense in picking out a bike now. Your opinion can totally change after the class. I got my M in 2009. Had a chunk of time off riding and took again in 2014. Instructors in 2014 told this story:

A guy bought a Vrod (brand new) from Ocean County Harley. He was set to take the class the following week. NO experience. He took and passed the class. Picked up the Vrod, barely got it home because it was WAY too much bike for him. He called them up and said he just couldn't keep. They worked with him and got him into a Fatboy Lo. It was a 2013. I know this story to be true, because when I was looking to buy my Harley in 2015, I went and looked at a 2013 Fatboy Lo with 120 miles on it at some guys house. It turned out to be THAT GUY! Too funny. He told me the whole story. Turns out he had a friend that got killed on a bike right after he got his it sat for several years except to run it here and there.

Riding around is no joke, especially is this whacked out state. U-turns are helpful but it won't save your life. I can bang them good now, but after the class focus on swerving, emergency braking, starting and stopping on hills, and taking off while turning. These are all things that will save your hide or use frequently. Practice U-turns too, but again it's a convenience skill. However it will develop some great control.

Once you have a 3 - 5k miles under you take the Ride Like A Pro NJ class. They give it up in Union. There is also ProRider in Philly.
