    Hello-

     

    First post to the forum, but have been lurking here for several months to get a feel for the forum. I was at the rally in Trenton on Friday with one of my coworkers. Not too bad a turn out considering the horrible weather conditions. I work in Trenton and will try to be there on Wednesday. If you are driving into Trenton the best place to park closest to the State House would be the Trenton Marriot parking lot. What time do the hearings start?

    No one will know to till the day comes not everyone is taking a bus there i know i am not. Many will still travel by car or mass transit Im betting 1,000+ people

    With all due respect to current and retired LEO's, can I ask why no one has tried to sue for discrimination?

     

    I understand that retired LEO's have years of training and job experience that the majority of average people don't. However, once you are off the job, you are now citizen x like the rest of us. Doesn't CCW for retired LEOs to an extent say that NJ says their life is more valuable than everyone else? This is right in line with the NRA argument that if the elite have armed security why can't everyone's kids?

    I'm looking for a ride from the SJ Deptford/Blackwood area... anyone willing to let me schlep along???? I'm good for gas money.... PM me if you're willing.

     

    A couple of us are thinking about taking the train up. If it changes, I may be able to fit you in as long as you don't mind an extended can full size pick up and two guys that smoke.

    He contacted a group I'm in about starting a 1 year pistol permit. 1 gun a month got 12 months. Still had wait 30 days between. We shot it down. He was looking for support because the rumor is he want to take a run at the gov's seat. Problem is he is anti gun. He told 3 of our members years ago he's ban all of em if he could. This happened in ponzios diner. So we decided #1 that offer wasn't good enough to rally behind him. #2 we don't trust him anyway.

     

    I heard the same thing. Basically, all that idea would do is eliminate a trip after 6 months to the PD for 6 more more permits. There was also no mention about multiple gun purchase exemptions, or what happens if someone wanted to buy 13 or more pistols in a year.

     

    Repeal the pistol permit law and eliminate OGAM is the logical thing to do but we all know how logic and politics mix.

    The LEO that does all the gun permits and FID's in my town is a friend and has been to my house many times, he's always welcome here, so are his wife and kids. :)

     

    Exactly. There was a set of questions that were basically no win situations. The group of us that took the test could not believe some of the stuff they asked.

     

    Friends or not, I'm not in favor of any home inspection. Precedence is a very dangerous thing to set in some cases. There is no reason to need a home inspection to exercise a constitutional right.

    I have taken that test. After having to answer questions like "would you rather commit rape or watch child porn?", your head spins for hours.

     

    If you answer any of the questions about your background, ie "have you ever been in a fist fight" yes, you get grilled in the interview portion in an attempt to push you over the edge.

     

    This bill needs to die a fast death and never see the light of day again.

    From NY Post..NRA Pres and Sen MCCain on Sun morn talk shows both seem pretty confident AWB will not happen. They dont think Obama will blow his political capital load on guns..I'm not in the prediction game but just posting this for some feel good words on this Sunday..

     

    I don't trust any of them. There's still too much chatter about a ban, executive orders, mag limits, federal registry, ect.

     

    He could have been asked to say something "pro 2a" to try and calm down the pro side in an effort for us to back down some.

    How do all the politicians in DC let this scumbag POS continue to do whatever he pleases? Do ANY of them still have ANY balls, yeah, including the women?

     

    I wonder the same thing. When is someone going to have the stones to challenge him and bring a case to the Supreme Court for all the executive order BS.

    Given the climate in this country right now, I do not honestly believe that the federal government will get unconditional support from the NG or the military. Not to go tinfoil hat here, but does anyone think that the majority of soldiers, LEO's, etc would go along with something like going door to door for a round up? I know the stories about Katrina, but were talking an entire country here, not a city that was easily kept isolated after a disaster. Keep in mind if things go completely bonkers here, there is a bigger issue with countries like China and Russia looking for the opportunity to head on over and spread their love.

    My theory is the NRA is waging a silent war right now. We know they have lobbyists all over working the back channels. They were smart to wait a bit after Sandy Hook to make a statement. They knew no matter what, they would be branded as either baby killers or terrorists, so why not wait and see how the antis were going to start jumping up and down first and show some respect to the victims families so they could grieve.

     

    We all knew that there would be a spew of anti gun bills introduced at many levels nation wide, it was a matter of waiting to see the who, what, and where. Finestien keeps getting coverage about her all out ban plans drawing most of the attention to her. I think we have to worry more about all the little bills adding up. I'm not convinced her "megga bill" is going to get anywhere near enough support to go anywhere being how ridiculous it is. We may be looking at a long drawn out take a little here take a little there scenario. Remember , bills get attached to other things so worrying about a mag restriction getting attached to something regarding the debt ceiling is more deadly than a play running straight up the middle.
