Did the 4 deer ticks you found bite you? If so, I would definitely follow up with your doctor and get a Lyme disease test at some point in the future. I have heard up to 50% of deer ticks in some areas have/can transmit Lyme disease! Don't mess around, Lyme disease can range from mild to extremely serious!!

those are CMP field grade rifles. The CMP was selling them last year for $630 shipped. The CMP is currently out of stock on them for now. Generally a lower throat and muzzle erosion number is a less worn barrel which may also be an indicator of how accurate the gun is. LMR barrels are known for accuracy, they were only made in the early-mid 50's. The receivers on both 1 and 2 were made probably late 1942. The rifles have probably been rebuilt/ have had many parts replaced in the last 75 years and are not in a collectible condition, but just a shooter grade Garand. Option 2 has an "uncut" operating rod. Many original operating rods had a relief cut added by the bend to alleviate potential cracks. Operating rods that are uncut are somewhat more valuable for collectible guns, but if you bought option 2 and are going to be shooting it alot you may want to switch out the uncut operating rod for one with the relief cut. Locally, I would say $900-1000 price range would be a good price.

I got some really good deals from them years ago, but now with their high buyers premium and competition from online bidding even a decent deal is really hard to come by! I commonly see people pay high retail for the auction price and then have to pay an additional 17-25% on top of that for the buyers premium! Very few decent deals to be had!

First, make sure your ffl will accept the gun and block the magazine. Some out of state dealers/ distributors will not send hi capacity magazines to NJ at all, others will, you would have to ask the individual vendor you are planning to buy from.

What weight/brand of ammo are you shooting? Have you tried more than one? A different brand or weight may solve your problem.

If the army wants more range, all they need to do is switch all their m4s to 1-7twist barrels and adopt a 75 grain 5.56 cartridge. Oh, and institute training and qualification out to 600 yards. A new rifle in a heavier caliber is not necessarily going to make the soldiers shoot more effective at range unless they are taught the skills.

Boyds gun stocks. They make lots of different stocks for all types of guns in a variety of woods.

I also read that one of the deceased had a knife on him, and another deceased has brass knuckles. Oh, and the getaway driver thinks "the shooter should have aimed for their legs".

The bolt being tight to close/open could be a headspace issue. If you have other 98 mauser bolts, try a few of them and see if they are easier. If it is, then you may have to switch bolts. The barrel on the receiver could also have been improperly installed. Lastly, I have had a couple milsurp rifles that had difficulty closing/opening the bolt. They had dried grease in by where the bolt locks, once I cleaned that out thoroughly, bolt movement was much easier

Yes, sometimes at auction, you see insane prices, people bidding high retail prices and then having the buyers premium of 10-20% added on top of that. Pretty tough to get a bargain at an auction!

In good, low wind conditions, I would say you could get 200-250 yards out of a .22 Mag. Beyond that, would be really tough.

I think some big city Police Departments such as NYC didn't fully switch over to semi auto until the early 2000's, so that type of ammo was surely in use until then.

Law Enforcement .38 Special ammo. What I have heard it was commonly carried in the 70's and 80's by Police Departments that didn't want to use "Magnum" Ammuntion. "Magnum" is a dirty word and implies excessive force and could increase liability in lawsuits. So, extremely hot .38 might be close to "magnum" stopping power without the added liability.

Check Usajobs.gov for any law enforcement openings in the federal government. President Trump just came out with executive orders related to immigration and the border. There will at some point be openings in ,Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Check once a week, early in the week as the job announcements are only open for a week or two.

I have a 514, my stock is brown. That doesn't mean your isn't original finish. I do know that when wood is treated with linseed oil, as the oil oxidized it takes on a reddish tint, this could be what is causing the plum color on your stock.

Wait till Trump Gets sworn in, thE 1911's will make it to CMP. It's not going to be a fast process, maybe a year or two before the CMP obtains them, services and grades them, then advertises them for sale.

Anything not with your name on it, write "Not at Address, Return to Sender" and mail it back to the sender. I too would be concerned about license renewals and violation notices coming to my address. Maybe send a certified letter to those agencies, request they look into it and provide you with a response.

What are you intending to hunt? I don't know if there is much that can be hunted with .22LR or .22 Magnum in this state. Also, .22 Magnum and .22Lr are two different chamberings that are not interchangeable.

I have no idea lol. Here's the link to the ammo http://www.bulkammo.com/bulk-223-ammo-223rem55grfmjta223100tulammo-1000
FWIW, I am assuming you are shooting that ammo in an AR type of rifle. I have personally seen on two different times AR type rifles that got steel cases stuck in their chambers that had to be hammered out with a cleaning rod. Not sure what brand of ammo it was, and it may never happen to you, but it looked like it really sucked for those guys!

If you want a smaller aperature, you probably want a match grade or national match grade. Also, if you go to a smaller aperature it is advisable to go to a thinner front sight post as well.

I believe in an earlier executive order related to private sales of firearms, that the definition of "engaged in the business" could mean as little as the sale of just one firearm! So, say you built up an AR type of rifle a few years ago and now sell it, you may be in violation! Of course all these executive actions are poorly written and difficult to decipher. That is intentional!"persons who engage in the business"
It may apply to gunsmiths, it doesn't apply to individuals who don't make a business of it.
They, the democrats want your guns.

I am taking a guess, but I would bet that the woman is saying the gun is hers, but it really belongs to her felon baby daddy! Still it is a really sad situation!

Gunsmith for drill and tap

Is your MAS 45 currently in original condition? If so, please consider not drilling and tapping. Those are not common, and are becoming quite collectible! Once you tap it, you are turning a $400-500 rifle into a $200 rifle.
Just my opinion. It's ultimately your gun to choose what you want to do with, but there are plenty of other .22 rifles that you can get for a low price that may be tapped already.
