  1. I picked up a refurbished Nokia 822 for a little under $100.i think I'm going to have the screen on her Galaxy SIII replaced just in case though. I asked her again last night why she wanted a Windows phone. Her answer... Because it's cute. I guess I'll find out in a few days how cute it is. For those of you married, you already know, if she wants it, she won't be happy until she has it, even if you give her a better model, it won't be good enough.

    Thanks for all your help.

  2. Are Windows phones all that they're hyped up to be? My wife dropped her Galaxy SIII and cracked her screen, so I was looking to replace it with a Windows based one, but I know nothing about them. She on Verizon and uses her phone to talk, text, surf the Web, and Facebook, lots and lots of Facebook. What models should I look at/stay away from? I'm going to buy one used.

  3. What's a decent scope for an ar 15 my range is only 100 yards. I have an eotech red dot and it sucks at 100 yards even with a magnifier.

Is it an Eotech magnifier as the quality (at least IMO) is very good, or do you have an "off brand/generic" one? if the latter, it might just be the magnifier you're using.

  4. So basically it's a "screw you" kyle family. Chris , No one gives a crap (forget what you did for your country) that you made provisions in your life to make sure that your family not only carried on, but thrived. And how dare anyone try to help you out when you lose the lawsuit that was brought against you. Furthermore Taya, how dare you speak of keeping the 3 charities your husband started going.

I don't care who you donate, or don't donate to, but don't try to sit on a high horse how the Kyle family doesn't deserve these donations. Taya and her children have sacrificed more then most of us here, combined!

  5. I have fallen behind a little bit in leaving feedback, but this time I'm including pictures so hopefully that evens it out.

I have been using JT Custom Guns and Collectibles for the last couple of years without incident. The drive without traffic is just over an hour each way down the Parkway. The Springtime and Fall are ideal because usually there is no traffic. In almost any other State this would be perfect as I would conduct my business during those periods, however since we live in NJ, it's a crapshoot as to how long permits will take at any time, so I am usually headed down on a Saturday during the Summer, or during a Blizzard in the Winter, but in the end I always feel the same. No matter what, IT WAS WORTH IT! The selection is always good, and the service is unmatched. Can I find what I want closer? of course, but Jack takes the time, however long it might take, to go over the Firearm and make sure you are comfortable with it. He is not there just to make the sale and send you on your way. He cares about his business and his reputation and it shows with every interaction I have had with him. If you're in the market for a new or gently used firearm, or have purchased one and just need a transfer give Jack at JT Custom Guns and Collectibles a call, you'll quickly find out, he's one of the best in the business. Below are a couple of my purchases from Jack. One was an instock item, one he found for me, and the third was a transfer.

this one looks a little funny, but Chris at Backwoods Custom Coatings is working his magic on it.

    Model 64

    (SKU #XXXXXX)

We have an assorted pile of S&W 64. All have 4" heavy barrels and rubber grips. Some Hogue and some Pachmayer. We have everything from They are all duty guns and have a number on the right side of the barrel. I am going to try to buff one out and see how nice I can make the finish. They are all stainless and work well.

    Price: $265.00

Seems like a decent deal for a solid shooter.

  7. I was finally able to finish my first build today.

I started with a stripped lower from Working Man's Armory, filled it with an Armalite LPK and an ALG trigger. A RRA Operator A2 stock, RRA Ambi Safety Selector , and a H2 buffer with a set of stainless steel pins to hold her together. The Anderson Arms upper was fitted with a RRA upper parts kit, an ARF BCG and a Raptor Charging Handle. The Barrel is just a no frills 16" with a carbine length black Red Barn Armory gas tube attached by a DD low profile gas block and a Rainier mini-comp covering the threads. A YHM Diamond rail. Magpul AFG, and UTG Xenon flashlight finish it up. Backwoods Custom Coating hooked me up with a custom mixed LAG Orange. The only thing that's missing is the Eotech XPS2 (Thank's Bugsy you Dick). I haven't decided which optic I'm going to go with, but with the sales and mail in rebates, I think an Eotech will be added shortly.

  8. gonna kinda hijack my own thread here.

i spoke with kharis again as i was closing up the shop today. i've got dates for a few classes which i'm going to post just below. as mentioned in the op, tactical rifle 2 and 3 got pushed back, due to lack of response. he had no idea it was never posted here(was supposed to have been posted by someone else). there are no dates set in stone yet, but def. in july. medicyeti.....i put forth the july13 date for ya. :)

     SATURDAY 5/24/2014=Tactical shotgun. max students 6. 11:30am to 4:30pm $160/student.

    SATURDAY 5/31/2014=Tactical Handgun. max students 6. 11:30am to 4:30pm. $160/student

    SATURDAY 6/21/2014= Tactical Handgun2. max 6 students. pre-requisite=tactical handgun1

SUNDAY 6/22/2014=NRA personal protection in the home. class size=10 students. 11:30am to 5:30pm $200/student

SATURDAY 6/28/2014=Tactical rifle. max 6 students. 11:30am to 3:30pm. THIS IS THE ONE YOU NEED TO TAKE BEFORE YOU CAN TAKE TACTICAL RIFLE2.

also, during my conversation with kharis, he did tell me that if you guys had ANY ideas of classes, he can do most anything we went(as long as it's legal of course, lololol)

i know i've said it before.....but i consider this guy to be good. he's VERY attentive to all of his students. he's friendly, and gets his ideas across very nicely. i'd liken his teaching style to my favorite flight instructor. i've had 2 or 3 of those. all good. but the one that i still fly with when i do, teaches as if he were teaching his son, not as if it's a paid job. that's how i feel kharis teaches. he teaches as if he were teaching his own son or daughter, not "just a student". THAT in my mind is a quality that's worth its weight in gold.

Do you by any chance know the cost of this?
