  1. I think they're projects. If you decide to build your own, it's stupid proof. Much like "project" cars - ARs are the project rifles where the layman can put in some time, sweat and come out with a quality, customized firearm that is perfect for them.

Some will say 1911s are the same way... and maybe they are. However, if you look at the reviews and complaints, 1911s are finicky was all getout whereas ARs tend to just run.

  2. That's wrong. Gssf is currently $425 plus nics and tax. Leo's arev$398 otd.

You also have to join for two years to get the coupon, so that's another $60.

I stand corrected, you're right. However, even with the $60 it's less than you'll pay for new...

  3. If you actually told me to f myself when I was trying to cut you a break I would just have written you both and been done. Regardless...the problem is this. The laws are there to protect OTHER people. The talking/ texting while driving. Those people cause accidents and injure others. If they just injured themselves then fine, Kill yourself and nobody cares. Perfect example is dwi...how many times to you see the drunk survive but others get killed. If your actions only affected yourself then I agree but they don't. The seatbelt thing does. do whatever you want most cops don't enforce it that strictly. Kids need to be belted in. They don't know enough yet. You are responsible to protect them. I will enforce that. You want to kill yourself and your kid to grow up without a mother or father then fine. People don't realize their actions have far more repercussions than just on themselves. Flame suit on
Is it only affecting the person without a belt? If I'm driving and I hit someone who is driving their car without a belt and they die, isn't my charge now vehicular manslaughter?

  4. How much do you learn from the level 1 course? From reading, it seems I'm probably in between the two skill level. I mean I know the range rules. What side is the business end. And stuff like that. But could use shooting fundamental (grip/stance) help. I've completed 1 idpa event as well.

I just completed the course this weekend - Based on the skills that we drilled on, I would recommend having a good comfort level with the following skills:

    1. Drawing from holster and re-holstering safely and under stress
    2. Reloading in the workspace
    3. Clearing various types of malfunctions (FTF, FTE, Double Feed)
    4. Moving/Running with your weapon

It was an amazing class that has improved my comfort level with my firearm and with working around others. If you want more opinions, shoot me a PM.

  5. I had the same conundrum a few weeks ago. I ended up with the 14.5in mid length gas upper with Troy alpha rail. I mated it with the Battle Comp 1.5 after watching a number of reviews and YouTube videos.

I ran the gun in GFH Urban Carbine 1 yesterday and was really impressed (until I tried running some TULA) overall, very soft shooter, not obnoxiously loud and no one made mention of a crazy pressure wave like some of the other barrel breaks. I was able to stay on target well through multiple strings of fire and while on the move.

    I'd definitely recommend it!
