Im interested in going in in this.. What are we talking $$ wise if there are four of us?

I have it in 7.62x39. You have to install a bullet guide which kvar has in stock. After you install the guide you need to dremel mag catch just a hair as well asvthe front of the vepr mags if you still want to use the 10rd it came with. The guys at kvar can tell you if it is the same for .223. I got mine from kvar. it was fast and easy and they have the lowest price

I own one .. No problem with the transfer. Very accurate rifle . It's a little on the heavy side because of the thumb hole stock, heavy barrel and rpk reciever. It also would require a little work to accept standard ak style mags. I shot it back to back with an arsenal sgl24 and was very happy that I went with the vepr

I got my vepr from kvar and rtsp did the transfer. I can't say enough good things about this rifle . When I picked up my vepr at rtsp there was a guy in the range with an arsenal. I shot them back to back and was extremely happy that I chose the vepr. It feels much more solid and was also more accurate. If you don't mind the little extra weight I'd say go with the vepr it doesn't disappoint
