I definetly wouldn't mind the drive as long I support NJ stores instead of cabelas. Also it's really only $21 more than the all black one with the Carry and range kit. So, if you guys can get it, I WILL BE EXTREMLY happy to drive down anytime.

Yes I have tried the firearms price request... Only Bullseye answered, props to them. Sku# 150987 smith and Wesson, it's exclusive to cabelas, but I figured why can't any stores get it for me from them and I will pay the fees??? Also, I did go to cabelas myself and a friend, but the cabelas salesman told us that they can't even sell that to NJ people because it has a 15 round clip, it has to be 10 rounds or less. So we said where does it say that in the law book? But then other salesman (3 or 4 others) jumped in and said yeah we can't sell that to people from NJ. So they win. I know for a fact gun shops here in NJ has the same pistol with 15 rd clip and selling it, but it's not the same two tone color I want. Anybody have a good solution for me? Please??? Help me find it

I actually called my DT and asked if he needed my receipt but he said nope and hung up. So that means he got an emailed copy to them. So I'm all set, just waiting on my township now. What township are you from? Btw I'm on my 51st day of waiting, 43 days after morpho trak

As of today I have been waiting 51 days and counting. I politely called after 30 days and left a voicemail, no call backs. 2 days ago I called again, I called 3 times and couldn't get a hold of the DT at his desk, so on the 3rd try I left a voicemail. All I said on the voicemail was my name and I'm doing a follow up call on the status of my FID and please call me back. A couple of hours later I got a call back from the DT and he said, everything is done on his side of the paperwork and he was only waiting on union TOWNSHIP to their own investigation. So I said what does that mean? The DT said they have to check if I have any records of domestic violence or any charges and all I can do is wait. Last thing the DT said was he will be calling me as soon as he gets it or send me a letter when to pick it up. I don't understand thier process of this whole thing..... Ps. Thanks for the INFO pizza BOB 56 days today and still counting...

Thank you j0n, I'm definitely getting the m&p 15-22 to get the wife off my back and at the same time, maybe she will return the favor and get me an AR S&W 15 sport for my bday in September, I know the 15 sport is on the lower end of the spectrum but I gotta get her warmed up slowly. Also she shot the 15-22 at NJFG in Easton, I think we can shoot center fire at rtsp also.

Sweet, do you any recommendations for a mid length AR 15? I know there are tons of them out there. I just got a catalog from rock river arms and they have a few nice ones. I know I'm gonna get one soon, but I'm still pricing it out, I'm trying to spend below $1000, I was really looking at the Smith & Wesson Mp15 sport around $700, then in the future I'm going to build my own.

Thanks for the honesty Sir. I'm fairly new, so anything you gentlemen suggest, I will look at and analyze. If you could please give me a name for the military trainer bolt gun I would appreciate that. Also I'm really looking for a 22 that is in an AR 15 or M16 platform but has good credentials like the smith & Wesson m&p 15-22.

The company selling it claims that, "So the hand guard end cap needs to come off. The barrel is free floating anyway and will not be harmed by removing the end cap. Groups are typically more consistant after the end cap is removed." "Some users have reported tighter groups due to better barrel harmonics with the increased weight of about 4 Oz." Is this possibly true?

Gentlemen, I was wondering if its legal to put a barrel shroud on a NJ complaint S&W m&p 15-22. I just don't like the basic barrel without a flash hider, Im sorry if my terminology on these parts are incorrect so please feel free to correct me. This is what it looks like http://www.tacticool22.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=8

Thank you gentlemen for the welcome. And to vtec, yes sir I am patiently waiting for DET. Baird. That's all I can do. But I did call on the 30th day and left a voicemail, buT no call back, so I'm just gonna wait it out.

First, let me apologize for not introducing myself before make a post. I'm not much of a forum guy. I'm mainly on this forum because I want to learn more about firearms. Second, my first post was about the waiting stage of my FID card and a PP. I'm currently on my 42nd day since handing in my application to the detective. And last, I can't wait to shoot with you guys at the ranges soon.

NJ FID application data collection effort
Clintoon Eastwood replied to nott's topic in New Firearms Owners Corner
1. Application type: initial FID and 1 pp 2. Police Department where you applied: union pd 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD: DET. Baird, 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit: submitted March 26, 2012- (April 4th morpho trak) - 64 days 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form): PD sent out letters to be filled out by references within the first week, very good. 6. Notes- the DET. Is very hard to get a hold of, but the whole PD was pretty friendly Overall? 50 days and still counting..... Finally got a hold of the DT after 3 Tries, actually I left a voicemail and he called back. This time he sounded really polite but gave me a really shady answer, saying that the township of union is actually doing their own investigation on me if I had any priors or domestic violence, which doesn't make sense because isn't that the detectives job? He said it was out of his now and doesn't know how long it takes. -
Thank you, I will check out bullseye, I went to NJFG and I do plan on getting my pistol there, also I went to their range/store in easton, pa 2 weeks ago and shot the pistols and rifles that I wanted to purchase. the guy that helped me at the store in Rahway was really nice and helpful and gave me the idea to go to their range in Easton and try the guns first before making a purchase.

I'm on my 26th day in union township, Still in my patiently waiting process. But I was at Cabelas in Pa. last Saturday to look at some pistols and I WAS TOLD by multiple salesmans, that "CABELAS DOES NOT SELL ANY HANDGUNS TO NJ RESIDENT unless it's 10 rounds or less!" please tell me this isn't true.
