    So i think i am ready to take the leap to competing/fun-shooting. and after finding some great info here; i have a couple questions...

     

    1. I see i can easily join online, but how do i get placed/rated? or do i just show up to matches as a new shooter or watch the first couple times?

    2. do i need to be a member at these private clubs that they are held at?

    3. are there any type of "training classes" or is it all hands on?

    So i put in for 2 purchase permits today in my town, and they told me 2 months. I have my fid already and they have all my info on file. everyone was very nice at the station. my gut tells me its less than 2 months. I am hoping this goes smoothly cause i really have the 1911 itch! i have been eying up a nice kimber...

     

    and on a side note, i have a friend who lives in Barnegat who put in for his papers (first time for everything) and got them back in 2 weeks 2 days - no joke! I was shocked! kudos to everyone down there for being efficient.

    +1 to what Ray and High Exposure wrote. I really enjoyed how the dude had his video ready for the whole thing when he decided to quote "this v that". it was very well rehearsed. there really is no need to advertise; unless your are running a TV network.

    Anyway OP, its just vendors that don't want any hassle from NJ about selling handgun ammo, even if I dont see what could come of it.

     

    i figured as much, again i have no problem at all sending it in, i just thought it was funny cause within a couple of weeks they wanted the info (cheaper than dirt). and today they wanted it. no biggie, its on file so i wont have anymore issues. i just thought something happened very recently.

    Hey gang,

     

    I have a new Pump that i am picking up tonight and looking swap out the stock and my question is - can i put an adjustable or folding on a pump here in good ole NJ? I know that on my AR it had to be fixed but have heard mixed things about the pump SG's.

    Just signed up today after dicovering this forum over the last couple days. Have gotten back into shooting over the last few years again from being away from it for a while. Seems like a great forum!
