  1. so does this mean that its going to be like NJ???  I wonder if she will be pressured to hold back on sighing off on them....

I hope she gives them out like candy.

"D.C. carry permits will be issued on a “may carry” basis, giving great discretion to D.C. Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier on who will be allowed to carry firearms in the city. Applicants will have to state a reason for seeking a permit, Mendelson said."

  2. I got my Utah and Florida CCW in about 2 months...both arrived in my mailbox the same day.

I took my course at Green Academy in NJ, took it at Buckey Gun club, very reasonable price (a lot less than taking a course for each of the FL and UT CCW permits), Cameron Green taught the class.  Included live fire of course.

I just did his class over Labor Day weekend over at range 14. Was a good day, Cameron is a good dude.

Mailing Utah and Florida tomorrow! Hopefully all goes well.

  3. I always keep on in the chamber around the house and when I'm carrying out of state.

Antimatter, do you carry yours on your person around the house or leave it laying around where the young ones have access to it?

If it's secured on your person, there is no reason you couldn't keep one chambered.

As H.E. said, things can happen very quickly. To think you'd have time to draw, rack the slide, then raise the weapon to a shooting position before harm can come to you might be a little hopeful.

Not trying to be disrespectful here, but H.E. does know what he speaks of.

for the most part its not in me, but close by in a hidden area.   i do agree when its on me it not an issue, i guess its more when i do not carry it.

i have to just get more comfortable with it i guess.

  4. so this morning, i made the mistake of listening to NJ 101.5 and Jim Gerhart is carrying on about how he doesn't see any issue here...and doesn't understand the problem. i almost drove off the road.

then the cop calls in "unexpectedly" and is trying to dance around the issue, it was real entertaining.  he says he was being "sarcastic" and that anyone who knows him would understand it.  its nice to see how that translates to complete strangers while working.

  5. You are exactly correct.

In fact, the prosecutor denied PTI, and the reason cited was "deter" which means that they want to make an example of her.

This is THE example of how NJ gun laws were not meant for criminals, but rather, the law abiding citizen.

I think it might backfire on them though. People are already talking boycotts, and the NRA and others are pushing national CCW reciprocity. If the Senate flips in November, it could happen. This might push it over the edge, IMO. All over the country they're talking about how Shaneen Allen was unfairly treated and how NJ sucks.

    I could not agree more.

  6. the patrol hasbeen on my short list for a while just waiting for the right one with the buis to beckon me. Just beware that from what I've read and been told the plastic pmags dont work well, something to do with STANAG specs but the metal mags are ok Maybe the pmag issue has been fixed recently but I am not sure.

i have heard the same with the plastics, i am good thought - have tons of metals!

  7. Has anyone seen these anywhere? Specifically the Patrol or Flex model.  I am fairly sure that's going to be my next purchase but being a lefty i would like to handle one before just ordering one.  Really got the itch for a bolt action and i like that they use standard AR mags.

    thanks gang!

  8. And i have to say that i dig it.  I primarily use this gun for steel and USPSA and while it does not have alot of recoil, i wanted it to be better for follow ups and what not.

This little gizmo does the trick.  and while i dont have exact percentages, it shoots noticeably better.  flatter, better followup shots.

it sure does what it claims to do!  seems like a very well built unit.  it can get pricey for some models, but for me it was worth it.   I think i may grab one for my Beretta nano!
