  1. it has been said by NJSP auditors that 'black rifles' must be logged into a separate book in addition to our regular book.

I'm not an FFL so I'm just asking.... Is the state willing to put that in writing? According to the states definitions a neutered civilian AR-15 is not an assault weapon and is legal for purchase. Why if by the states own definition it's NOT an assault rifle why does it have to be logged into your AW book? Have you ever asked to state inspector to see it in writing or are you just complying to keep them off your back?

Didn't get an answer in that thread so I'll ask in this one...... Any FFL care to share???

  2. I've looked at these before and they seem promising. I probably will wind up ordering one with an extra shell. I just forwarded the link to this thread to aliengearholsters.com asking for them to comment and answer questions and to consider a discount at a group buy or individual. Hopefully they come over and say hi.

  3. That is not the direction given by the last inspection by the NJSP Trooper...

anything resembling an aw.... Anything that has an evil feature set... Anything

Even if compliant but looks like an aw.. Goes in the aw book...

    It's not interpretation.... It's a mandate...according to the inspecting officer .

  4. There is no riddle....

There are two books being kept... I don't know if all ffls are doing it....or complying

But I know the NJsp mandated it upon inspection for renewal....

So no riddles.. NJsp wants an assault type weapons bound book to be kept.

    It's being done

is this a law for FFLs in NJ? Or is someone from the state abusing power to bully you guys into doing this?

  5.

The whole I lost it in a boating accident is comical..........there *IS* a paper trail that CAN be traced........

OH and BTW, private sales, yes can be traced as well..................

forget the boating accident. I turned everything in at the gun buy back to pay my bills in this bad economy

  6. I bought one off a forum member and really like it. I feel the trigger is heavy but not rough. The recoil is a little snappy but I wouldn't call it 40 cal recall worthy. What part of the state are you from?

  7. I have been watching this show, kind of enjoy it. But last night NBC did their version of an anti gun statement during a network show.

    Gas station convenience store setting:

Bad guy with gun holding hostages

CCW citizen pulls gun and says drop your weapon

    Bad guy shoots CCW guy

CCW guy fires his gun while falling

Stray bullet hits a child in the gut

PD Snipers outside headshot bad guy

When I watched the episode and saw that the first thing I thought was the ccw holder should have just shot him. I think they showed how remorseless the villain was compared to the ccw person and how a parent will do anything to protect their child (mother). I didn't look too much into it. It's just a tv show.

  8. Mine's the same if not a little better. I got the update early though because I signed up for the "soak tests". The battery life takes a few days to settle down...

I'll have to keep an eye on it. Like today I would say was minimal use and I took the phone off at 730am and it's down to 34%. Before with regular use it would still be in the sixties.

  9. all reciprocity with the exception of UTAH is now only honored for residents of the state. so non-resident florida permits are no longer valid.

which from a political stand point was done for what can be considered justified reasons. Florida will give a pa resident a permit without a having a pa permit. Utah won't and is the only reason they are still around.

  10. I also have a droid maxx and I'd recommend it. Even with new kit kat update the battery life is good. To be honest though it was killer before the update. Anyone experience this with the new update?

  11. Couple of points here.

The LEO should not be asking you where you were coming from unless he suspected DUI and is trying to build his case. For a "regular" stop, he is instructed to only advise of his name, department, and your violation. Those instructions are given to him in the academy, by his trainer, and are written on the ticket book. I think many get into the habit of asking questions in a interrogative manner. If not nipped in the bud early on, it makes for a bad attitude in the future.

Also IMO, it is not against the law to lie to an LEO. It becomes an offense when one tries to hide a crime or an offense. If you are not doing anything wrong, you can lie.

this was my experience last week in Washington Twp, Gloucester county. He was polite. Almost exactly as you said. Name, dept, reason. Asked for the normal documents. I was polite. Turned off vehicle, rolled down the window and put on my 4 ways. Even though I have a NRA sticker and nj2as sticker on my truck and was coming from Glassboro ( bobs little sports shop ) to be specific he never asked the questions about firearms. Which I just bought an lcr and ammo. Right off the bat I treated him like a human and things went well.

  12. err everyone could get an account. Tact and discretion should have kept this whole mess completely OFF electronic medium. Nailing shut the barn doors after the horses have left, been slaughtered, and the barn burned down seems pointless.

+1 to this. If people don't think there are anti's with accounts...... Well I got these magic beans for sale. No refunds or exchange. Cash only.

  13. That's the way I have done it.

NJ2AS is a fledgling organization with a number of people doing the best they can (some representing here) and a few people pulling the heavy load. It's not Carl Rove, an organization of paid political consultants, and $40 million dollars.

Sounds to me like they were completely honest about it. Stumble through it, try to learn, you'll probably mess up but you can educate the next generation. That's brutally honest. It's also the way every damn thing gets started.

There's a lot of complaints in this thread that sound really valid, but that one is pretty damn lame.

I guess I should have assumed that gaining RKBA in NJ would be as simple as one guy handing me a coloring book and staying within the lines. Boom! CCW. Or, perhaps, connect the dots.

I can understand what you are saying regarding the power the NJ2AS has. But to belittle an individual trying to help the cause is not productive to said cause. We will have to disagree on this one.
