  1. I have a Pro in .40. To me, it was not worth the extra dough. The trigger still sucked, and I don't like the 3 dot night sites. Too many dots for my eyes to try and focus on the front one. I put Apex trigger parts in mine, and swapped out the sites for Dawson precision fiber optic front and Warren Tactical blacked out rears. Save yourself the money, get a regular M&P and upgrade it from there.

  2. He got more of it than I expected from this board. So maybe he did need a piece of it. I'm sure he got a bigger piece of the gun vote from people not actually on this board.

and they all said "guns are safe he won't go after guns..."

    yeah.. right..

Absolutely pathetic that even a single person from this board voted for him. I'm actully at a loss for words.....

  3. Me email to Gov Christie. I'm not well spoken like some of you are, but I did my best.

    Governor Christie,

I will make this short and sweet sir. I voted for you when you first ran for governor of New Jersey. I, like many other law abiding residents of the state, was appalled at the circus act of an Assembly that I witnessed yesterday via live stream. It was so painfully clear that the Democrats had nothing but their political careers in mind, while they played on the emotions of the tragic Sandy Hook incident. It was absolutely appalling to listen to these Democrats, who had no understanding of current laws, try to unsuccessfully argue how the bills they proposed would curb gun violence while they laughed and giggled amongst themselves. I was truly disappointed by the behavior, and blatant lies told by our elected officials, and share the views of many when I say, I have lost faith in the system.

One thing I have admired about you is your brass and unwillingness to make decisions based on pleasing the masses, but instead making decisions based on what is the right thing to do. Well sir, I urge you now to continue to do the right thing when these unconstitutional bills pass the NJ Senate. When these bills come to your desk, you sir, have the responsibility and duty to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and to defend the hard working, law abiding citizens of this state. Any action by your office to support these outrageous bills will result in lost votes, both in November, and in the future should you choose to run for the Presidency of the United States.

God Bless you and God Bless America.

    Respectfully,

  4. I use the power check but not the one from Dillon, I can't think of the make right now (CRS) but for anyone who has some sort of power check system, I have heard nothing but praise for the Lock out Die, but happy with what I have for now and it works for me.

Either way, depending on what powder you wind up using, it can be more important with some than others, but no matter what, never rely on a mechanical devise as your only line of prevention. Get into a habit and work it into you rhythm as you use the Dillon (or any progressive) to make looking at the powder in each and every case as you're loading.

One of the issues I came across when loading with my RCBS single stage, I'd load my loads as low as possible while reliably cycling my pistol. But the low powder measure forced me to have to look down into the casing to see the powder line. But I'll try to get in the habit of looking anyway, even with powder check system.

  5. I believe that that G34 is dangerous. It wouldn't have happened with a GEN3.

Do you want to sell it?

My son, Reload, Reload and Squib no more. Also, if you happen to show up at my range with your homemade goods, let me know so I can pack up.

Seriously, hopefully, everyone on this forum can learn from this. Did you check the weight of each of your rounds when you were done? Perhaps that is what happened with that .357 revolver at the Easton Fish and Game a while back.

checking weight of rounds can be tough because the brass weight can differ by atleast 5 - 7 grains in some cases with .45 acp atleast

Do you guys sort your brass and use only the same brass for once batch of ammo?

  6. I believe he was referring to the video of him running like a **** when his convoy was attacked. He worked for a security firm in Afghanistan (I believe, could have been Iraq) and his actions possibly cost 3 men their lives. There were 3 vehicles full of men in his convoy and he was the only one that decided to get out and run away. The rest engaged the enemy and he came back after the firefight ended. Not really someone I would want in the hole next to me either.

Do you have a link showing this is true? Not saying you're making shit up, I'd just like to read or watch the story myself.

EDIT: Found some info. Read the AAR is the post dated 1-11-07 at 9:36 am

  7. Sig, where are you located? Might see if someone in your area who is familiar with the 650 would be able to come do a little mentoring for ya. On the iPad so I don't see what I see on my PC, but I'm in Sayreville and if your close I'd come show you a few things or try and answer any questions you might have.

page 21 if you want to read more.

you'll need yourself a digital scale to weigh out the powder to get your desired amount.

adjust the nut, test it out a few times, measure the charge on your scale, adjust as nessasary, and repeat.

Harry makes a good point, it's much easier seeing how everything works in person, rather then reading about it and looking at pictures.

If not harry, if you are close to woodbridge I can give you a quick run down on how the press works.

I already have a RCBS digital scale and dispenser. For those you offered to show me a rundown, I will send you a pm. Thanks in advance for the generosity you guys are showing. I ordered the 650 today and I'm in the middle of putting up sheet rock and then floors are being put in. (Damage from storm)

I will send you two gentlemen a pm just to touch base, but it'll be about a month until I get everything set up.
