  1. I am a girl and my favorite "girl" guns cover the gamut- Sig SP2022 (9 mm), ruger 22/45, STI Spartan (.45). Next on my list - a .357 revolver. (FWIW - my preteen, petite daughter took a NRA First Steps Pistol course at GFH and her favorite was the .357 revolver.)

  2. Jack handled a transfer of a Nagant revolver for me. He was very helpful and incredibly responsive. I really appreciated the tips he gave me. Customer service is top of mind.

If you are looking for a dealer, you should check out JT Custom Guns. You are not going to find a nicer, more honest guy!

  3. I use Eva-dry in the basement safe. I check on it every week or two to recharge it when it fills up. I also check my firearms every few weeks just to check to make sure no rust is building up on the ones I don't use frequently. Gun socks and a protective coat of oil or wipe down with a silicone cloth. Perhaps it is overkill, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

  4. 10/22 and sig sp2022

Puts dinner on the plate. Both have multi-round mags. The 2022 can be concealed if I need to interact with others.

Not sure it is practical to prepare for hoards of attackers if you can only take 2 firearms. In that situation, you are either outgunned or would be overrun by sheer numbers. Best bet is escape and evade.

    Just my 2 cents...

  5. Picked it up Saturday. I think it is an Engineer Carbine. No bayonet, but has all matching numbers. Wood has some dings and seems a little dry, but no cracks. Some pitting on the bolt handle and the crest is worn. Barrel looks ok, could probably use another cleaning. Hope to take her out for a spin in a few months.

  6. I was on the rifle team in college. Shot .22lr rifles. Didn't keep up with it after college. A few months ago, got back into shooting for HD and target shooting. It is a fun sport and is a way to take personal responsibility for my (and my family's) safety. I also have found it very interesting to research the history behind the different models and their historical significance.

  7. I think FFLs are getting squeezed by the NICs situation. Some of us have stopped purchasing b/c of the ammo shortages and NICs delays; others are purchasing out-of-state; and still others are doing a lot of private transfers/sales of ammo and firearms. FFLS, like any other business, want to turn over inventory fast. And, in my experience (albeit limited), FFLs have ALWAYS taken care of good customers or new customers. IMHO, dealers are suffering right along side us.

And to have them complain to their regulators..... Anyone in a regulated business (especially an actively regulated business) knows you need to stay in the regulators good graces unless you want your life to be a living hell. You can't FORCE your regulators to DO anything.
