I am taking a trip to Texas next week and was wondering what the rules are on bringing JUST ammo on a plane. I figure if I find some ammo down there, would it be ok for me to purchase it and bring it home with me? Im not checking bags, doing carry-on only. Want to know if it will be a hassle or not, Im not having any luck finding ammo around here!!

I only have 2 guns, both take 40 S&W. I only have 300 rounds left and avoid going to the range because I dont want to use it up. I've been stopping at every place I can find and they are always out of 40 so I havent been able to replenish any. Online always gets sold out before I can get to it. So I think I will be looking to take up archery soon.

Were you there when the guy started walking out on the live range to place his target?
NO SIR, NOT ME!!! I was the guy shooting jugs full of water, then the wind would blow them away after the water drained out of bullet holes!

I shot there once, had a pleasant experience. Very big selection, I would go there again.

I was up there around 11, not busy at all. Super windy, targets kept blowing around. Had to destroy my one target stand and use it to stake down the other.

Range 14/Dix, you are able to set your targets up at almost any distance you desire.

Does anyone know if Range 14/Dix will be open on Easter Sunday?

+1 on FNX40, Old Dog summed it up well. It's fully ambidextrous so that helps with being lefty.

i assume you have one, any issues with it?
My Dad has the FNX45, its the hammer fired version. We go to the range together, so I get to shoot it all the time. No issues, is very accurate, and the sights line up instantly when I draw. No complaints. It also came with 3 15 rd mags, thats a lot for a 45. Not sure how many rounds the 9mm holds.

I have some experience with the FN's, I wouldnt worry too much about the grip. It is a little rough but you get used to it quickly. I dont even think about it anymore, just grab and shoot.

Prices were ridiculous!! I ended up only buying some beef sticks and a shiny bracelet for my girlfriend. Nothing gun related purchased at gun show.... tragic
