Oh, and I forgot to mention, I used electrical tape to "bush" up the bolts I used to attach the pillars to the action when I bedded them (and when I bedded the action) to make sure that the action screws would be centered in the pillar holes....the action screws will be perfectly centered in the pillar holes and well away from contacting the pillars when assembled.
Also...I'm 90% on my way to reloading my own loads. I bought the RCBS Rock Chucker kit and have 2 lbs of powder and 1000 primers. All I have left to get are the dies and projectiles.
Any suggestions on a good bullet for the 7mm-08? 130-150 grain range....
-
Are you absolutely sure it was full auto and not just someone quick on the trigger?
I must admit...if it were someone I knew and it was outdoors at an open range, I wouldn't GAF....but a stranger at an indoor range showing off, I'd likely be a bit concerned as well.
-
Is this a 7mm-08?
Yep

I know this is old, but I'm almost finished....I have only the bottom metal left to do.
It came out pretty well, considering this was my first attempt. There were some air bubbles in the area under the chamber, but that was to be expected because the bedding compound is over 1/2" thick there. Also, I got a little overzealous with the Dremel tool when cleaning up the edges. When I bed the bottom metal, I'll try to fill in the voids along the top of the stock I made.

Why is this even a thread? Why the big deal? Click the dam button and leave. If your really worried about admitting you ARE a citizen we have bigger problems.
what exactly are you giving up by anonymously answering a question about citizenship... look I get it.. the question is stupid.. especially for a plastic box.. or a sling.. what happened is obvious.... someone in an office somewhere made the decision that the question had to be asked for any "firearms goods" so now it just pops up for everything... if you are really that furious about it.. call corporate .. if you are still completely disgusted that they insist on asking if you are a citizen of the US.. if that makes you over the top angry.. then shop somewhere else.. the people at the store level.. even the manager.. are just trying to earn a living... and they did not invent the ridiculous policies you are annoyed with..... I just never understood taking it out on people at the lowest level... these people have nothing to do with making OR changing the policies.... we are inconvenienced all the time.... I bet if you look real hard there are a ton of things you could get really mad about on a daily basis..
Yep...
I find it sad you all can piss and moan about a stupid question at a box store....but if I complain about ammo hoarders, I'M the asshole.

So, apparently there WAS a law in place to prevent this....the child access prevention law.
Did a law prevent this from happening?
Yet, there are people still clamoring for stricter gun laws because of this.....when will the insanity end?

I've bought plenty of Hornady SST ammo in NJ....mostly from Cheyenne Mtn.

You have to approach this a little more tactfully lowslow....
DLF, congratulations on another shooter in the family!
I see your daughter did pretty well to keep it on the paper, pretty good for a first timer! With a little practice, I'm sure she'll turn out to be a fine marksman. That said, she's going to need quite a bit of practice. I'm a busy man, but I suppose I could make some time in my schedule to help a fellow shooter out. If you'd kindly send me her contact info, I can call and set up a tutoring schedule.

WVIS,
It was at Ykids, an afterschool program to watch kids until parents pick them up after work. It was on school grounds, after hours, but school rules still apply. The kids had been warned by the principal of the school to not make videos after they were caught making Harlem Shuffle clips. The suspension, while a bit much (as my son did not threaten anyone directly nor did he threaten to bring a weapon into school), is what it is. It did make my son realize the seriousness of mentioning guns at school. He got a stern lecture about how his actions could really mess up my life.
I, too, have repeatedly told my son that no one at school, or anywhere at all, is to know that I have guns. He was also told to not draw guns, talk about guns, hint at guns or play any violent games at school.
This boils down to a young 5th grader getting tricked by older kids to be the star of the video. The older kids knew exactly what they were doing, as they stayed off camera. They were giggling the whole time in the background. The director of the video was also suspended. Both kids were also expelled from the Ykids program, so that f***s with my schedule, as I now have to get him off the bus at 2pm everyday. Good thing I got laid off in January!
The kid knows this was a big screw up. Again, better for him to get this lesson over with at 11 instead of 15.
Ok...on school grounds during an after school program. As long as he learns, it sounds like a good lesson then.

Wow....all these stories tell me America has gotten too far away from their heritage.
These are the kinds of mistakes that people should be making with BB and pellet guns at the age of 10 under close adult supervision.
-
Guess the first ammendment is up for grabs as well...
This is almost more scary....
Dajonga, was the video shot during school hours? ....on school grounds?......using school equipment?....was the school or classmates mentioned in the video?
If the school was not involved in the video.....what gives them the right to suspend your child?
-
They should make those shooters use some kind of muffler on their guns.

Pretty awesome idea to me....feed their own b/s back to them....make it a health/safety issue. We NEED silencers for the benefit of the community!

Nice!
I've never been....how is wild duck? I'm not a big fan of wild turkey, but I do love ruffled grouse. I've been thinking about getting into duck hunting...it looks like a great time.

Sounds like it ended up as well as it could have...
Or, you could have refused to let him in and went to the back and called 911 to confirm he was an actual cop...you never know. Wouldn't be the first time someone impersonated a police officer. As long as you were legal you had nothing to worry about.

I haven't been to any other range in NJ, so I can't compare...
But overall it's a great place. As other's have said....the "rules" seem silly to a more seasoned shooter, but in their defense they do have a lot of novices there. It's all about safety, which I can get behind.
My biggest complaint......they faced the main ranges (GP and HP) southwest. If you don't go at the crack of dawn or just before sundown, the sun is in your eyes ALL day. But, once again, that's the direction of Collier's Mills and away from residential areas....so they had a reason.
If you can afford the scratch....it's worth it.

Heat!
Yep...hit 'em with a soldiering iron.

Yea, it's total BS that criminals can get money for guns that were used in crimes with no fear of prosecution.
Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having gun laws entirely?
-
I am confused, what happened to the walk of shame with the ammo? I am assuming the ammo is in one of their lock boxes or is that for NJ only..
I think it's only Jersey..

Biden said to get a shotgun...
-
It's not so cheap to shoot anymore. My dad was telling me the INSANE prices for 22 ammo if you can even find it.
-
Apparently he did it with a shotgun....
Nice to see the whackos are taking Biden's advice.

Of all the Dick's I've dealt with, the guys in Freehold aren't too bad. I've had conversations with a couple of the guys...not a-holes like the guys in Brick.
Unlikely, but you didn't happen to notice if they had restocked any of their other rifle ammo? 7mm-08 in particular...
Any good Stock repair guys around NJ?

How much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking?
My buddy really wanted one....but couldn't find one in his budget. He ended up buying a Uberti instead.
