Now to clarify...is that because they're not "his", but his spouse's instead?
Would the answer still be 'no' if they were his and didn't have an FID?
I was under the impression that, as long as the gun was purchased legally in another state while a member of that state, there is no requirement for FID when you move to NJ....it's only if you lived here during the acquisition that you need an FID. Is that correct?

My question....what's the data say about "LAWFUL" gun owners committing crimes with guns?

Any instigation attempt should be met with a smile and nod.
This bears repeating.
I can just envision something like this going horribly awry...

I just dropped off PP paperwork in Jackson yesterday.
Had to get a money order for $18 for the "NJSP SBI". Apparently they use this to do a background check.

Holy poop, imput mine forms in october 2nd weem in Jackson.
Checked with Nicole in Records dept a month ago. She sait that its with the captains for sign off but no idea when theybwould be done.
I hope soon, six months is ridiculously long.
I just dropped of my request for 3 PP's yesterday. The lady was telling everyone (I was the 3rd in line at 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon) that requests are taking around 12 weeks.
Of course, I believe that's about what they said for my initial FID....which only took 23 weeks.
Don't be afraid to call. Just be polite and mention how long you've already been waiting.
If I hadn't called on my FID, I would have never known that they were waiting on my reference letters (which my references never received).

I hope and pray nothing about this gets "aggressive".
That would be our worst nightmare.

I'll be bringing flyers to Central Jersey...although I have to imagine I won't be the only one.
I'll stop and give some to Pineland Sporting goods as well.

"STAY IN VIRGINIA"
- I second this.

Time to move to TX and join their secession bid?

Wow....
Map of gun owners = mentally ill people.
i've heard it all now folks.
THIS is the root of their plans.
If you think you want an AR or a 20 round mag, you MUST BE CRAZY. Therefore, you aren't allowed to have ANY guns.
Think about it.

I was planning to drive in, but from reading a post above, that doesn't sound feasible.
I live in Jackson and am planning to go....what's the deal with parking and whatnot? Should I try to find a bus instead?

The S is beginning to HTF.
This s*** is starting to get scary.

EDIT: Wrong thread

There's been a lot of pomp....but will there be any circumstance?
Are people ready to stand if legislation gets passed, or god forbid an EO is signed?

Here's the Federal representative page...they only have the online contact forms as best I can tell.
Find your local House Representative here....nice interactive map to use.

Awesome. Thanks.
BIG thanks to mattio41 for putting the info together.

Is there a thread for form letters and contact info of people I should be writing/calling?
Can someone point me in the right direction?
-
True, that's right.
Coming from WV, this is all relatively new to me. Thanks man.

The day before my birthday.
I'll be at Central Jersey with a bunch of people.
I'd go buy ammo, but nobody seems to carry my caliber other than Cheyenne Mountain....and that's a 35-40 minute drive for me. If my online order doesn't come in by then, I'll have to.

1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). Initial FID
2. Police Department where you applied. Jackson
3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD. Don't remember. Records clerk. Was friendly.
4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit. 23 weeks (almost 6 months)
5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). None
6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.). 3 weeks after fingerprinting, references still hadn't received their letters. I called and asked, and was told the letters were sent out 2 weeks ago. (They lied). When I told them my references hadn't received them, she offered to re-mail or that I could come pick the letters up and personally deliver, which is what I did. References got same letter in the mail a few days later. They must have mailed them out after I called anyway.

Thanks man. Can I have my g/f drop the paperwork off, or do I have to take a 1/2 day off and do it myself?

Ignorant question...don't know much about the AR family...
Can you put any upper on any lower? I'd like to build one in 308. Ironically, I never really wanted one of these until recently. I knew I should have stopped at Bullseye Tactical on my way home that Friday.

Don't specifically know in NJ, but I know in the past I've heard that if you have lights and they're on, they ALL have to work. I recall hearing stories about pickups being pulled over for having one of those yellow lights out on top of the cab.
What changed?

Exactly.
