Carrier came in, seems gtg and is even properly staked. Waiting on the gas block now. Maybe send a strongly worded email or two.

I've heard lots of mixed things about Ice Arms; first their products were crap i.e. inferior materials, but now they've upped all their specs, but can't keep up with demand and have terrible customer service. Ordered a gas block from them the other day and a carrier, already got my tracking number and everything. I was hearing horror stories of several months delays and not being able to arrange returns or even get in touch with them, but I've had zero problems so far. So what gives? They finally got their feet under them or did I just get lucky?

Would the LWRC barrels have to be purchased second hand? Cuz either I'm blind or they're not on their website. Probably pass on the Bison, want either chrome lined or nitride/melonite.

Finally got my hands on the Midwest upper, slight machining marks on the FA housing, but all in all it looks good. Finish is slightly off from the Spikes lower, but that's not important to me. T-marks are good, no rough edges and it mates up well.

Any idea if they will be available in .308? I love the idea, but I've only seen them for .223/5.56.

ARP is significantly cheaper and I haven't found anything bad on them. Looking at 205 list for a 16" middy with melonite finish.

Utas was junk when it came out, they've worked out alot of kinks though. My dad picked one up and I busted a bunch of clays with it. No feeding or cycling problems, but it's kind of a hassle to load.

Talked to the guys at AR Performance, looking at several months before they have the barrel I want. Thought of going with Stag, but I really wanted a middy gas system and the extra $25 and wait time is worth it to me to get a better product.

Slowly, but surely the HD 6.8 is coming together. Lower is complete, Stripped upper came in, rail is backordered. Just waiting for AR Performance to get barrels in stock and slap it all together. After that just the bcg and upper parts and it's good to go. Parts assembled: Spikes lower that I color filled myself Magpul MIAD grip RRA Operator A2 stock Geissle SSA Parts I have/ordered: Midwest billet upper Diamondhead vrs-x 15" rail Eotech Parts I need: BUIS BCG assist and dust flap Barrel and gas system charging handle (probably going with BCM) Updates to follow.

Found a great price on a billet upper, still more than the Northwest, but for 120 I jumped on it. Let me know how the order goes, I might consider them for future purchases.

Definitely stick with a lightweight barrel, nothing bigger than the m4 gov. profile. Standard plastic hand guards or the Magpul MOE would serve well. Standard a2 or even the original a1 stock since I'm assuming she's smaller in stature. Unless you're willing to play with dark magic polymer receivers, everything else is pretty much set in weight. Billet receivers are the heaviest.

That'd be the one I go for.
