  1. Heres the scoop on performance...brought it to the range 120 rounds no problems at all...load up another mag, pull the charging handle...click,click...nothing..release the mag, clear the chamber ...i take a look and apparently the bolt did not release and is stuck at the open position...i spent 20 minutes trying to figure out the problem. Finally i shoulder the rifle and it charges no problem...couple more rounds no problem...load another mag, and the same issue. Frustrated i go home to see what the problem is...seems like the upper does not fullly sit on the lower... However if u add bit of downward pressure onto the upper, the bolt will then work...perhaps why it worked when i shoulder it....is this common for 22 builds, common for ars? I dunno if its me of the rifle. I own a sig556 never had 1 problem...any input?
  2. Thanks to my fellow forum members...i was able to put together in a very short amount of time a dedicated 22lr build. Lower: omni multi-cal by ATI...for a polymer lower i am very impressed on build quality Stock: a2 zytel skeleton Upper: chiappa arms dedicated 22lr upper...again all polymer and very impressed Furniture: compliments of magpul - sorry for crappy pics

  6. Honestly, for what i use the vice for it works fine...i mainly just tinker around with my rifles a bit, no serious work is doen to them.. The stand is mainly used for cleaning and slight mods
  7. Not much right now guys, just got into the world of rifles, as i used to be a strictly handgun guy...The Sig 556 was compliments of my wife for a christmas gift. The lower is my first build in progress. It is an ati lower with a buschmaster lpk, and a a2 zytel skeleton stock, with magpul furniture.

  11. Thanks for the replies guys...i am going to wait till end of february then i will pursue...if i did not have a 22 ar build i was working on i would be a bit more impatient. Im going broke waiting for these permits and getting parting parts for the rifle lol
  12. Hey guys need some advice regarding some permits...So about a week before christmas I put in for some more pistol permits, currently i live in cranford nj, and average time before panic mode was about 5 weeks waiting time...It is currently february and there is no sign of them. Now i normally am a very patient person and dont mind the wait, as im originally from NYC, and thats a whole different ballgame in regards to permits. However, when i went to the police station of my town originally to drop off my application as well as background check fee of 12 bucks, i was told by the detective there that i am not allowed to request 5 pistol permits, and that i can only get 3. I know this is false because i have received 5 in the past. When is asked his reasoning he said that they would expire before i would ever get to use them, i replied saying that i can take out an extension on them which i have done in the past and then they would last. He then gave me a weary look and said well the state police dont like giving out extensions to people who take out extra permits. I then convinced him to put down for 5, despite his hesitation. The other issue is when he had my sign some forms in front of him, he left out having me sign the mental health check form. Which after he said im all set, i remembered that this for sure needs to be signed, and explained to him that i should sign it now. Again despite his hesitation it was signed and i went on my way. Fast forward 2 months, no sign of the permits. I know were in some crazy times, and im sure permits are being put in for left and right, but i have a weird feeling mine were somehow overlooked due to my experience. Do you guys think i should wait it out for a bit longer, call up the police station see if they have any info? I dont want to press my luck and annoy any1 there....any opinions would be great, thanks guys
  13. I have a close relative whome had the same mantra as you do. They figured whats the point in having a safe, they have no children, live in a safe neighborhood, and have no visitors without him being present. Unfortunately we can't predict the future and needless to say his home was a prime target of a burglary. With that, all his guns 15 in total were taking from his home. His idea of keeping them locked in an unoccupied closet did not stop the thieves. Now, I am not saying go out and buy a safe but wherever you decide to store them, make sure its burglary proof. Whether you bolt it down to wall and floor, have a hiding spot that Sherlock Holmes could not find, or invest in a monthly storage facility for firearms( forgot the company name, however they were at the garden state outdoors show). Regardless of the option you choose, be safe and responsible. These two gunownership features with not only protect you, but help with the fight to keep the 2nd amendment alive. Every little bit counts. I'm sure this is not news to you, but may help new gun ownwers in our community. Keep us updated!
  14. to be honest, I don't know, im not familar with swords at all. If i were to guess they are replicas and do not have much value...is there anyplace that can check them out
  15. Hey guys i apologize for being ignorant, my mother in law has 2 of her fathers swords that she is interested in gettin refinished,(handle broke on one, the othe needs to be sharpened and cleaned)...do you guys know of Ny shops that do such a thing?...im located in scotch plains, but any place in NJ would do....thanks guys
  16. thanks a lot man...will contact him later today
  17. hey thanks a lot, i actually did my utah ccw through GFH and it was great so thanks for that!( i believe Anthony was my instructor). I contacted you guys a while back to take the Basic however with my schedule it hard to make a scheduled class, are their any private classes offered?
  18. hey guys sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum, i am a newbie...So currently i have my utah ccw, ive had it for just over a year, and its been great since i do a lot of traveling to PA, as well as down south..My question is does anyone whom has their utah ccw also have a non-resident CT. As i mentioned i am becoming a doctor, and travel everyday to and from CT from NJ. With that in mind i thought it would be a good idea to have a non-resident CT permit. has anyone been through the process of applying for such? Any input from you guys would be great. It seems if i ask 10 people i get 10 different ways of approaching this(LEO included).
  19. met this forum member today..great guy and very knowledgable...def would do business with again, and recommend to fellow forum members
  20. I would also be interested...how many come in a great? Id be good for 4-5
  21. Great responses guys, i appreciate all the feedback....i will let you guys know what i end up with....im currently waiting for permits, and have a 1911 tacops waiting for me at heritage....so once that is squared away ill let you know my next move
  22. ha my experience with a rental revolver did not go to well...probably one of the reasons why i never sought out to buy one....i know it was an SW, couldnt tell you the model....however literally ever other shot did not fire...im assuming it was because it has not been cleaned since it was at the range, needless to say, it was a big upset
  23. hey guys, currently i have an nj compliant sig556, probably my favorite rifle thus far. problem is, i am looking to switch up to stock to the magpul ubr. issue is that with the folding stock is pinned, and im not sure if that will hinder me from accessing the mechanism in which to take the current one off, and put the attachment that i need on to accept the ubr. best friend is a leo in ny, and though he has a working folding stock, he said i would not have an issue. any of you guys have experience with this? comments are appreciated. thanks!
  24. hey guys just need some opinions on a future revolver purchase. currently i am a strictly semi-auto kinda guy, with very little experience in the world of revolvers. honestly the only one ive shot is my fathers ruger lcr in 38 special...in short, im looking for something that out of the box will be good for target, as well as something to switch up my idpa game. as i mentioned not much knowledge with them, so i would appreciate your opinions. my wife is also a shooter, and though calibers are not an issue(she got mad when i sold my desert eagle in 50ae) she does have smaller hands, as do i. any input would help, and price range is not an issue...thanks guys
