  1. i think violent video games and movies are FACTORS, but they arent the REASONS.. mental health problems are the reasons, and violent video games and movies (and things of the ilk) just play into it..

i personally think most of the problems have to do with parenting (or lack thereof).. and i hope no one takes offense to that (because there are obviously good parents out there who raise children properly), but so many don't. So many don't spend time, take time, make time and communicate properly with their kids.. so many just give their kids whatever they want or ignore them, etc. It is making for a spoiled, entitled and sour generation (in general).

    ....but i digress

  2. that has nothing to do with reversing a charge that he authorized. Are you saying that he should say he lost the card and someone else ordered the item? I dont think that would be very smart.

I think what they mean is that since they have not charged the credit card yet, if he closes it/reports it stolen, they will close that card number and re-issue the credit card with a new number, and thus Rguns will have an invalid card number to charge, effectively letting him cancel the order without canceling it..

at least, that's what i assumed they meant

  3. assault weapons now have one required "evil feature" instead of 2 to be considered an assault weapon..

if you have an "assault weapon" that has detachable 10 rd capacity, it can only be filled to 7 rounds (or any other weapon with detachable multiple round capacity)

only .22 that is exempt is ".22 caliber tubular magazines"..

if i were you, i wouldnt bring any of it there at this point

  4. lets face it, most people try to get out of jury duty... however, the funny thing is, as alec.mc said, most of the time they will ask you what you think of the NJ gun laws.. if you answer "too strict", they will most likely let you go..

that said, i was called for jury duty just last week.. after being on call for the first day (dont have to report if "on call"), i had to go in on tuesday.. we all (all 400+ of us in monmouth cty) sat there for 2 hours, listening to them explain the process, etc. They gave us a break around 10:15am, and then called everyone back into the jury pool room around 10:30.. they said the judge had something "come up" and would not be selecting from the jury pool today and let us all go home, telling us to check the website (or call) that evening. 5:10pm comes, i check the website, it says my group's "service is complete".. so, i spent 2.5 hours on Tuesday doing nothing but playing with my phone, waiting for them to call us, they did not call us, and then my service was complete.. niiiiice...

oh, and i thought that if you had a drivers license, you were registered to vote in NJ (?).. or am i remembering that wrong

  5. hitting a target from a distance = hunting (or sniping) or competition

otherwise, its just for the hell of it, yeah? (i.e. just for fun).. im really just curious if thats why most have rifles.. doesnt matter what kind.. typically, hope defense would be shotgun or pistol (rifles arent normally considered for home defense as much as the other 2 styles of gun from what i've heard)

im just wondering if i should worry about getting the pistols first and we're still working on our SG (see other section for that issue)... i dont know.. maybe that will be an "in the future" thing, eventually.. although i will be going to visit my father in a couple months and he has a couple rifles that I will probably try..

oh, and just so no one thinks i have any bias, i really am just curious why people have them.. havent had any experience with them at all..

  6. So.. I'm a new shooter in general. Only shot a handgun a few times (only took once to get "hooked"). I understand the point of a shotgun if not for hunting or skeet/clay sport (home defense). What is the purpose of a rifle, other than hunting or competition? (Seriously). Or is it "just to have one"?

Just wondering why other have a rifle if for reasons other than hunting or competition.
