Also, Tunaman...just to be clear...if we pass the re-qual now, we can use that as the qualification shoot when we renew in (approx) 2 years?
I wouldnt do anything unless your leo asks for it. If they do, give them a copy of the new qual and save the other one for your renewal. Unless i am reading it incorrectly that is what it says on the bottom of the new Qual sheet...
"*Any requirement for classroom instruction and target training shall not be required for a
renewal applicant who completed the instruction and training when obtaining a permit to carry a
handgun issued within the previous two years" -

The GFH Qual was deemed substantially similar so if you took it you are good to go. I am sure they are anticipating some jurisdictions that wont accept it so they are offering a harder qualification for free. I am going to take it, and use it upon my renewal. One less thing to pay for.

and you keep repeating the same re-qual training nonsense before it's even deemed necessary.....enough with the range promoting...omo.
its not range promoting. It is called the LAW. And you will have to abide by the law by Oct 1 or you risk being revoked. Until it is overturned it is the law. My qualification is already good, but when I get offered a free one for next year I am going to take it. Same as you will be taking it when you renew.

So I signed up, but in the same notice they also said that the original course of fire was deemed "substantially equivalent" so the re-shoot may not be necessary, but they are getting conflicting signals from the NJSP or the AG's office.
The only problem I have is that I have 2 bad knees and I can't kneel down and get up under my own steam and I can't find out if GFH will (or can) waive the kneeling requirement. I don't want to "blow" my 1 free re-qualify if I will fail because I can't kneel.
Meanwhile, the clock is ticking...
I hope this confusion gets cleared up soon.
and dont forget. .. If you already have your permit, and you take this new Qual, it will be good for when you renew. You wont have to take it then. I am going to take it now, but say nothing to my PD unless they ask me about it.

Of course it is unconstitutional, but for now in THIS state it is the LAW and if you want a PTC you must follow it. I dont like it anymore than you do.

There is no requirement in the law for a basic pistol course. There are places to get run through a qual for significantly less that $125. If you did need to take that class because you are new to handguns, then you should probably taken it regardless of wanting a carry permit.
If you went somewhere that had a clue what they were doing for your first qual, you wouldn't need a second one. It baffles me that an instructor would think that they could assess the safe handling of a handgun for carry without the use of a holster. Seriously?
Regardless of the requirements in the statutes, there is such a thing as personal responsibility.
If you have any sense of responsibility, you would be investing in your skill building to be able to carry with confidence with due regard for everybody else in your vicinity. Besides, building shooting skills is fun.
Alternatively, if you blindly believe you have the right to carry a deadly weapon without a clue how to do so safely and are absolved of any responsibility for the harm you may cause to others because you don't even know what you don't know, then carry on.
I ran a class today that I have advertised on this forum. The price was $125 and included instruction and a qual. Not everybody passed, and for valid reasons. If a person doesn't even have the self awareness to keep their finger off the trigger when they're not even on the sights, let alone firing a shot, or are so devoid of muzzle awareness that they can't stop themselves from pointing their own gun at themself, they have no business walking among us with a gun. This is after they have been instructed that these things are what not to do, and why they are bad, and in a low stress class with nobody trying to harm them. How is that going to play out in a fight? Deity help them and anyone nearby.

I took that class for 2 reasons...1- it is required in my range before you take the Holster draw class. And you need the Holster draw class before taking this new qualification. 2- it is needed to get the Florida CCW and they offer that for a substantial discount when you take the Basic pistol course. I have been shooting for almost 50 years and I like to use people that know what they are doing, and people that have qualified thousands and thousands 0f RPO's and Security Guards over the last 30 years or so with the full approval of the NJSP. You dont have the overhead that these ranges have so your comparison is moot. And to say they dont have a clue makes you sound like a real ass, knowing full well that these qualifications have been proper all of these years. The requalification is free now to members that took the original qualification from them( is yours free?), so that hundred can be deducted too. The renewal wont be as bad, but I feel real good about myself knowing that I have been trained by the BEST Instructors around.

Correct. Dont use that method if you have other animals around that you need to keep.

You can also put a dish of antifreeze close by that hole. He should drink it and that will be the end of that.

Just be aware of any town ordinances on the discharge of firearms. If someone sees or hears you shoot, whether it be a .22 or an air rifle you could be in trouble and lose your gun rights forever.
-
Just make sure it doesnt have a swollen end of the barrel that they can call a silencer. That will get you 10 years in jail...

If you sprinkle the advance around to test it, you will not believe the line of ants that you will see in minutes of putting it down. Every single ant grabs a piece and takes it back home to the queen. Stuff is amazing. I bought these bait stations and stuck them in the ground around the house. Seem to be working great with the Advance in them. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B9IK0IE?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Buy some Conquer and a 2 gallon sprayer. You can do the whole house in about an hour. Get some Advance ant bait and a few bait holders and stick the in the ground around the house. The kill themselves this way by taking the bait back to the colony. Spray the perimeter with the Conquer.

Listen to the podcast and LEARN some things. 300 grand for insurance NOW...without people drawing from holsters. I am sure Anthony and Matt are patiently awaiting their insurance adjuster to follow up on these new quals. I bet is it going to be a 1/2 a million a year before its all over. Not easy or cheap to run a gun range. Nobody ever said this sport was cheap.

Not good. Incompetent administrations will surely get us killed. They dont care. Keep voting for these assholes.

No references for renewal? No prints needed for renewal? The way it should be.

The GunForHire Qual is substantially equivalent and anyone qualified from 12/22/22 on is AOK but since there is conflicting information out there we will be accommodating a free re-qual for those that fall in that window! We will also be launching a few changes to our qualifications going forward to comply with the "interim" guidelines (I hate this State). Please be patient and look for an alert in a few days from us on social media, GunForHire Homepage, and an email. Thank you ALL in advance.
That is great news.

When have you seen him stand up to the state on his own accord?
I am sure he doesnt make any money telling YOU how to stay out of jail. I wouldn't be so quick to call him names as you may need him some day.

according to Nappen it is so full of childish MISTAKES and errors that they probably pulled it to fix the errors.

You can carry any gun you own according to the law. That does nothing for you in court if you shoot someone with a gun you didnt qualify with. It is a slippery slope designed for us to get caught on. Pester the law abiding citizens that pay their salary, and let the criminals off easy while maintaining their voter base. This state truly sucks.

I am also wondering if NRA Basic Pistol satisfies their "Classroom Instruction" I bet it will when all is said and done.
