  1. Got mine today. I was trying to save it for the one I'm going to build. Didn't do to we'll install was a breeze. This weekend I'll be back at efga trying it out and maybe buying one more if I really like it. Can't beat the price and shipping was fast! Thanks for the heads up on these. Nice find

  2. Any advice on a 556 barrel and some of the other parts needed. Looking to shoot from 100 out to 300. I have a BCM upper and would like to start collecting some parts and reading this thread is pushing me forward. Plan on using an m223 scope or something similar. Not on a strict budget but don't want to go crazy either. I have an M&P 15 already and could start changing things on that but I would rather build another one and keep that one close to stock. Any advice would be great.

    Thanks,

    John

  3. Savage 22lr was my first rifle and I think its a great choice. I've since put a cheap scope on it and it shoots any thing. I go to EFGA in PA on any descent weekend. I'm actually going up today after lunch but if you would like to try it out pm me and I'll meet you there guest you in. you can shoot it to see how you like it. My opinion at the time was it was not going to break the bank if I didn't like it, I chose the model with the wood stock only because I'm a fan of wood no other good reason and I'm glad I did after feeling the synthetic stock. Easton has a few different ranges and you can try it how ever you would like.

  4. how is clarification a compromise? The way i see it is being a lose lose. The clarification would only serve to jail anyone that goes anywhere other then the most likely 2 places they set. My guess is bathroom and gas. Right now being unclear there's a chance that if something happen you would have a chance of not being arrested if they make it clear you step outside there line you go directly to jail without question.

  5. I agree a lot of people make a big deal about little things. On the other hand asking here where most people know how bad N.J. Is more people are aware of the bad things that could happen. Then you get the idea as posted above. Go out and get a lease/rental agreement from staples or somewhere similar and fill it out then have it notorized by another friend. Cost ya about 5 bucks and everyone's legal.

  6. go to an HVAC supply house they make something similar. chances are you wont find it in the big box but they do have chimney caps local. I had to add one when i did the new heat in my house along with a liner. I think i got it thru Ferguson in Lakewood.

  7. Ok all this talk I'm in! Looking around I found an Anderson lower for 49. Anyone heard any issues with them. Not cheapin out if there not good I'll go with a different one but I decided to start ordering parts and that's what I found this morning. Next will be the trigger and that ones gonna hurt a little. After the holidays I'll start looking for upper parts or possibly a complete upper if I can find exactly what I want otherwise my only concern will be buying a few tools to assemble that. Head spacing is the only part I'm unsure of there. This thread wound up being a great build motivator!

  8. There's a lot of opinions out there on which is better building or buying. Both answers are correct. I personally bought mine because I wanted to shoot right away while I researched and for me it's working out exactly as planned. After field stripping this one I've seen first hand just how easy a build will be.The "build it" option would have been my choice if I knew I could only have one because in the end I would have exactly what I wanted. Another reason I bought one first is now when I build the rifle I want I have a spare to let people use if they go to the range with me. Also when I'm finished I'll have one with a upgraded optic of some kind. I just picked up a 15/22 added a cheap utg scope and enjoy shooting that too. More choices is always better.

  9. I went with an M&P from one of the vendors on this board who was great and I couldn't be happier. Now I'm starting to research the parts so I can build one they way I want it. My thinking was if I bought it complete and starting enjoying it right away I could learn about my future choice in parts and it worked out perfect for me. So now building one will be a more thought out process.

  10. The rear sight will keep you centered. When your shooting at 50 if your not using your rear sight at all your adjustments are not going to change anything. I use the sides of the front sight to make sure front post is where it should be.

Another thought. When I was trying to sight in mine I had a magpul front sight and by the time I got it on paper the front sight post was adjusted to the point where it was almost out of the thread. No matter what I tried to do I couldn't get it perfect. I got another front sight and problem was solved. I'm guessing I just got a bad one but it drove me crazy trying to figure it out because I'm new to shooting and never thought of faulty equipt.

  11. Ave. P in Newark still has about 6 yards left. Then on Stockton street around the corner is a pretty big yard. Bruce's,all American and leesville are three big ones in Rahway. Cosmos in south jersey ask for Micheal if he doesn't have them he can find them and ship to you fairly cheap.
