sweet....if you don't mind, what did the upper run you?
The upper is about $200+/- depending on where you can find it online. I got two, one for each calico jack i'm building but i'm not sure if i am going to keep the 2nd one.

so i came home from work today to find a nice package sitting on my front step. The next part of my Calico Jack build... my Spikes Tactical Billet upper.
I have been looking for a upper to go with my Calico Jack lower for a week or two now and finally ended up on the Spikes Upper. I decided to go with the spikes because the look of it was just intense. I like the hard mill lines and overall look of it. Plus i kind of like having a matching "branded" receiver set.
Anyway here are some pics.
Next is to decide on the rail...... Seekins SPR3 maybe?...

Very nice. I'm considering that hand guard in 12" for my next spikes build! Ho do you like the feel of the rifle in hand?

if you missed last weeks Defensive pistol class last week here is a video of one of the segments taught. It's a rough video and by no means a professional production!

I Have a 60gal FOLR tank and am in the process of curing rock and prepping a 260gal Display with 100gal sump/Refg for my family room. I use to get a lot of great info from Reefanctuary.com about the Saltwater hobby. As for shops.. when I was up in north jersey I use to go to Tropaquarium. Nice selection of fish but the dry goods are expensive. After moving to south jersey I go to Aquarium center or locally i'll go to New world pet center.
If you are closer to the PA side of things, have you gone to "That fish place". its out in the Lancaster area but makes for a nice trip. if you are married or have a GF you can mask your trip by saying lets go to this fish store and while we are out there we can go to the outlets! Isacs's is next door so you can get a pretty good sandwich while you are there too.

I thought these were gonna be the xps line.
Yes sir. Originally I had posted the thread for the xps2. After going over the email from my supplier I realized I misread the model number and posted the XPS line.
The Eotechs offers in the group buy are the EXPS line.

These also come with a magnifier. Not sure if the one you ended up getting has one or not. Calle tomorrow to discuss!
-
I havent had too many yet but out of the ones i have had so far...
- Umbrella Corp
- Spikes
- PSA
- S&W M&P15
I have to say that the Umbrella corp is my favorite and the Spikes comes in second. I have had the chance to shoot a DD and a BCM and they both were very nice but like others have said, I enjoy building my own rifles.. or shall i word it better... I enjoy assembling my own rifles.
my list of upcoming builds keeps growing.. still to come... Spikes Calico jack (.556), Noveske (300blk) and a Black Rain (.308)

which xps is it? what's changed between these, and older eotechs?
The ones being offered are the XPS 2-1 and xps2-2 the difference between the two is the reticle. One as ONE dot in a circle. The second has TWO dots, one in the center and one under it at a specific MOA to account for bullet drop at distances.
These are the same as the one you were looking to buy in the market place a few weeks ago.

Ok between the people we have here on the forum who are interested and the people i have Offline who are interested we have enough people to get started!
I will post ordering info shortly! I would like to have all orders received by 3/3/14. so i can get the sights delivered by the end of the week!
Please post any questions here!
-
Yes we used a tripod!

You actually named your rifle? Do you name all your guns?
lol yes. I name every rifle I build after strippers I know or have known (use to DJ at a strip bar). They are my "jersey girls" If I'm helping a friend they usually name them.
Done... Finally
