  1. What about a boat? I have a boat in a marina down the shore that I stay over on weekends during boating season. It has a berth, galley, head and I pay electric bills monthly to the electric company. Would it be legal to bring my handgun to my boat? There's a range close by my friend goes to and it would be nice if I can just go there from my boat rather than having to hike back home.
  2. Thanks for the info all. I'm calling around to see what can be done.
  3. Hi all, After a long long long wait I finally got my FID and I want to get the CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical 9mm. The problem is no one has it and I found it online but it comes with 18 rd mags. I was told they will ship to the dealer without mags and they will ship the mags to somewhere else if I want. So my question is, is it illegal for me to even have the 18 rd mags in my possession? I was thinking of just selling it and get the 10 rd mags but if it is illegal to even possess it then I won't do it.
  4. I decided to hire a lawyer to expunge the record. Thank you for all the advice, hopefully the next time I talk to you all I will have my FID!
  5. I decided to hire a lawyer to get the record expunged. Thank you all again for the advice, hopefully I'll have my FID in couple months!
  6. Thank you all for the advice, I'm leaning towards expunging the record first.
  7. Thanks everybody, I'm leaning towards getting the record expunged first.
  8. Does anyone know a good lawyer they can recommend?
  9. Thank you all for the information, I'll think about it and decide on what to do.
  10. Hi All, I posted this in the introductions but was suggested to also post it here. I'm from Somerset county and I want to apply for a FPID but I'm wondering if I would get denied due to two things. One is that I got arrested for some pot when I was 18 and I have a misdemeanor charge on my record for it. Another one is that I got a DUI over 4 years ago. I stopped smoking pot many years ago and I do not use or have any drug problems. I do drink occasionally but I'm not an alcoholic. I am now 33, married with my first kid on the way. I'm not a bad guy, just made some stupid mistakes in the past. Do you think I will get denied due to those two things I mentioned? I've read that some people got denied for DUIs and I've also read that some people got approved even with DUIs. Is it true that misdemeanors in NJ count as disorderly persons offense? Some people I talked to are telling me to just apply for it and see what happens. Some people are telling me to expunge the misdemeanor charge from my record then apply for it but what about the DUI? Help! lol
