  1. I saw a Springfield g.i offered on the marketplace, for 529, any good?

I really like the look of the Ruger sr1911, but hear they are hard to find, and they are priced of my budget at the moment. (Bought 4 handguns in the past year)

  2. Have a permit that expires in a few days, but am away, and hopefully can get it extended after it expires....

Been looking to use the permit so I don't loose it but only have like 600 to spend...

What 1911s typically run under 600?

Never even shot a 1911 but it seems like a must in any collection.

If no quality 1911 is available for the price, I was thinking of adding to a glock21.

  3. While on vacation in the south, I stopped in at a Bass Pro Shop today in Richmond, VA. Holy Crap! What a great place.

Usually I prefer Cabelas, but this was just as good.

It appears there are plans to open 2 bass pros in NJ, one in Sayreville, and one in Atlantic City.

Can't wait for to to happen! It's like heaven on earth. Can't believe NJ will let them in!

  4. UPDATE:

I called the Old Bridge PD this morning and was told they DO extend expired permits. I told the person in the records bureau that the permit will be expired about three weeks by the time I can come in, and she said they CAN extend it.

She said " Come in, fill out a form, and the chief can extend it"

We'll have to wait to see if they actually WILL.

  5. Garfield PD didn't allow me to renew my permit 2 days prior to the expiration date and told me the chief won't renew permits if they haven't expired yet. So I'll find out Wednesday to see if it's renewed.

Mine will be 2 weeks expired by the time I come back up to NJ. Hope my chief has your chiefs mindset.

  6. Got 2 permits issued on May 14th, couldn't find what I wanted in state, so I made a purchase from an out of state dealer. My FFL, Steve from Monmouth Arms, accepted the transfer and initiated NICS on Monday May 20th.

NICS came back Sat. June 1, took possession on June 2nd.

Here is my problem: I am a teacher, and Vacation in the South from June 26th to August 26th. My other permit expires on the 14th of August.

Prior to leaving town, I called my local PD, Old Bridge, and asked the lady that works in the firearms record division about the extension.

I asked if I could get it extend then (June) and she said no. I asked her if I could get I extended in late August when I return, and said the permit will already be expired, and she said they will extend it, but its up to the discretion on the Chief.

Upon talking to a a NJGF vendor, I was told that once it expires it can't be extended....what's the truth?

I tend to trust the Vendor and not the woman working for the PD.

I will call the PD tomorrow and try to get a real answer or hear what they have to say....

Guess I will have to reapply..... Any opinions?

  7. Was it a new purchase?

The reason I ask is that the new Glocks seem to have a new finish, a matte black intead of a glossy black, and I was wondering as to the strength of the new finish.

  8. Let me start by saying I am a newb when it comes to ARs so don't mind my ignorance. (More of a pistol shooter)

Bought a smith and Wesson 15-22 last fall, fun to shoot, cheap to shoot. During the height of the Newtown craziness, I sold it for $200 more than I paid for it.

Now that prices are coming back to normal, I want to purchase it again or........

Maybe buy a real AR (5.56) and then buy a new upper to convert it to .22lr......

Is there any brand that makes complete ARs and 22 dedicated uppers?

Please advise. If any vendors can shoot me info and prices PM me!

  9. its  nikel-boron finish called nib-x  I happen to have bought it like this but I know you can get it done

Looks sharp, will look into it. Was thinking of sending my glock to rock your glock for the hard chrome finish. Your finish looks better
