I was looking at a strap, but personally, rather not have my hand restrained to the forend like that. The Magpul setup, fits perfectly around my hand, and is kind of usable shooting with my weak hand (right hand as support). Good position for the light, so I’m happy with it.
The TAC-14 doesn’t have a stud on the grip, so either add one (not a fan of) or go with a sling adapter. Leaning towards the latter... but got to think it through.
With the TacStar sidesaddle, the plate comes back to like 1/4” to 3/8” from the edge of the receiver, at the point the QD mount will be located. From what I saw online, it seems that the socket for the mount favors the receiver side. Probably going to be an issue there.
Sling will be a Magpul, either MS3 or MS4. I prefer the QD mounts, so it would be a MS4, and possibly modifying the sidesaddle plate to fit (shouldn’t be hard, just Dremel a relief around the socket). Other option would be a MS3, then a Midwest Industries plate, which accepts HK clips (like 90% sure the Magpul para-clips work with it). That would be no modification, since it is inline with the plate.Be careful picking plates that work with HK/mash clips and guessing they will work with Paraclips. I did the same thing when trying to build a sling system for my 2 AR's and found that most of them DO NOT work with the Para-clips. I tried the GG&G, and the one from Yankee Hill. I ended up returning all the stuff and the MS3 and getting a MS4 and using all QD stuff, which was hard but not impossible on my 9mm AR with a A2 stock and PRI gasbuster handle (Troy makes a mount that is hard to find and I believe discontinued, but still available.) I plan on getting a TAC-14 when the detachable magazine ones are available, was slightly interested in one before, but now I am actually going to buy as the round count is no longer an issue. I will get a QD single point attachment so I can use my sling on this as well, not sure which yet.......

For the most part yes. Trying to get used to it. IWB concealed. Don't need anyone to know and create more problems. Most of my friends that have gone out with me that I have asked had no idea so I must be doing it right.

I just got 2 permits. Took a little bit over a month. About a month in a half. Nothing new was added, the only thing our town adds is reference forms for the two references on the SP form. Waterford TWP.

Update: got a 1911 with my second permit, Springfield Armory Range Officer for $700. OP what did you decide?
-
Nice. I bought from http://protectionspecialities.com/. Shipped very fast to NJ with no issues and still a great price.

I’ve made my decision as well, I believe that the NJSP (if that post is legit) is interpreting the law much like myself.

That’s how I have begun to understand it as well.

Yes the Rems are being sold as well.

Anything pertinent you guys would like to share with the class?

I am getting a GLOCK 19 GEN5 with one of my 2 permits on the way. Like yourself, with my second I am interested in getting a 1911, I do not want to spend a lot on it. Looking at new Colt M1991 or the Series 70 but cannot find any stock in SJ. Not completely sold on 1911, if I can't get one in the price range I would consider Beretta M9 or SIG P320 if I can find any around.

As indicated in our earlier e-mail, the Consent Order declared the provision prohibiting possession of a stun gun unconstitutional, making that prohibition unenforceable. So, unless the law is changed, New Jersey law contains no permitting or similar requirement that must be satisfied in order to possess a stun gun (whether at home or in public). And, as previously indicated, there are limitations under the current law which are not affected by the Consent Order. You may wish to consult a private attorney should you require legal advice on this issue.
That was my final message from the ag
Sounds to me by the reading of the emails you received they do not have any issue with carrying.

I’d imagine between the cartridge and battery there is plenty of metal there to set off most detectors.

In related news Philadelphia repealed their ban yesterday, so you can now carry them in Pennsylvania as a whole and in the city. So this makes it more viable for me for sure, as the Pennsylvania laws are more certain when it comes to carry on persons. Seeing all these new repeals makes me more confident NJ isn’t going to put any restrictions on carry, and that we could in fact carry now, but I don’t want to be the test case that’s for sure.

so much back and forth on Facebook people are even scared to buy them now
I’m close, then I keep talking myself out of it. I don’t know what to decide...... I don’t want it if carrying it will lead to issues. My home defense is pretty well covered by traditional ballistic weapons

The more I read and research this issue and research how other states handled it when they repealed their laws, I think we can carry (I’m no expert or lawyer). It seems like as of now the only prohibition is those under 18, felons, and on school or college property. When DC repealed their ban they basically became unregulated except in those examples and more specific cases of government property where they were prohibited. My concern is this gets changed in the near future with additional regulation, but I could be wrong, NJ could just leave them unregulated like DC.

There's a site that's already shipping to NJ too if you wanna buy the pulse now.
Cool. I couldn't load the old pages so I didn't see it! I am looking around, part of me is worried they might to pass laws preventing carry though.

I will be buying a Taser Pulse sooner than later. As far as I know, the law was changed Sunday when the period for public comment ended without any additional changes.
Attached is a memo I just found on the net from the AG, sent on Sunday:

In South Jersey, but I have found that Hagues in West Deptford has an unrivaled selection of Sig Sauers. I have bought 2 there personally. I would at least call them.

It should be a carbine spring and buffer, the tube has a bunch of dead space in it that makes up the length difference.

Never had an issue with safety at the WMA range outside Hammonton until a bunch of Atlantic City cops showed up and thought the place was a handgun range.

I had my old Bushnell First Strike red dot back up against my Magpul BUIS rear sight, which was as far back as it would go. I will try putting my new Burris FastFire III/AR-F3 over the ejection port and see if it makes a difference as suggested.
