  1. Is anyone interested in organizing a "screw the super bowl party" for 2/4/18?  I can't think of a better way to spend my time on Super Bowl Sunday, or any other Sunday for that matter, but especially SBS.  Could be a Range-14 GTG or a Super Bowl shotgun shootout.

    Input?

UPDATE:  As of 1/28 we have...

    Scorpio64,  Yes

    Zeke, Yes

    Mrs. Z,  Yes

    Voyager, Definite maybe.

    RayRay, Yes

    Peel, Yes

It's also very difficult when gun owners only comprise approx.10% of the votes in NJ.

I believe that is a gross under representation.  I'd say it's closer to 30% of homes have firearms and in many of them both husband and wife shoot.  The problem is not the % of gun owners, it's the gun owners that don't own black rifles and do not feel threatened by a ban.

Maybe this would get the Fudds energized enough to at least vote for the 2A.

As long as Elmer's double barrel shotgun is not threatened, the Fudd's won't care.  I am well acquainted with a few deer hunters and only one is an actual 2A advocate.  Hunter does not = 2A advocate.  Beyond bagging and tagging a couple deer every season, they don't give a rat's ass about guns.  Very narrow self interest interest that does not affect them and they are okay with it because a rifle ban would not impact them in the least.

  4. You may be asking yourself, what does the bump stock ban have to do with you, especially if you dont own a bump stock. Well, if you own any semi auto rifle, it has more to do with you than you may think. In this video, MAC (Military Arms Channel) and ATF employee Rick Vasquez discuss the long reaching, and likely overreaching, authority of the ATF to regulate without legislation and how political parties use a little known backdoor to regulate without public discourse in Congress. There is also a Q&A from internet viewers.

In a nutshell, every semi auto rifle will be affected by the proposed regulations concerning bump stocks, even if you don't own one. Among other things, ATF is now talking about regulating SA triggers and reset times. Bottom line here, the bump stock ban is not just about bump stocks. I believe it's important for you to see this, and I ask that you share this video to help get the word out.

Here is a link to GOA where they briefly outline the ban, it's implications and a link to ATF where you can leave a comment.

  5. I'm surprised PSA sold you the lower.  They state on their website that they won't ship complete lowers to NJ.  PSA will sell you a whole rifle or a stripped lower, but for some reason complete lowers are verboten.  What's up with that?  You got a pretty good deal, I hope it ships.

Complete AR and AK receivers will NOT be shipped to the following states:

    - California
    - Connecticut
    - Maryland
    - Massachusetts
    - New Jersey
    - New York

Its not for the 'honor' of membership; its insurance...most of the shooting ranges get their insurance coverage via NRA programs, and you get insurance coverage via your NRA membership.

But I assume you already knew that.

Yes, I did know that.  But a movie quote comes to mind.

    Quote

"Potter isn't selling, he's buying.  And why? Because we're panicky and he's not."

I have chatted with hundreds of people all over this great nation and learned something very interesting.  In most of free America, ranges are either free or have very sensible membership fees (when I told some friends outside NJ what the first year at CJRPC cost, they about fell off their chairs). But more importantly, almost none of the require NRA membership.

Funny how that works out.  Free America gets full NRA support even though they don't need it much and no NRA membership requirement to join a range.  But, in the DPRNJ, Hardly any NRA support, even though we desperately need it, ranges controlled by the NRA protection racket.

For the time being, I'm putting my money behind CNJFO, at least I know where the money is going.  btw, the NRA insurance does not require that ALL members of a club be NRA members, and there is a workaround for people who do not want to join the NRA.    Charge non NRA members $35/year more and give the money to the NRA (though somehow I don't think all of the money would go to the NRA). It's nice to know the NRA is taking care of range/club owners, but what about the rest of us?

I would gladly pay a $35 premium just to avoid the constant fear mongering calls, emails and junk mail declaring there is an assault on our rights, and only the NRA can save NJ from the bad bad liberals.  Relentlessly begging for more money that won't be spent protecting the rights of New Jerseyans ....  Jersyites...Jersyonians....New Jerseystanians maybe.

At any rate, this Sicilian calls NRA dues "Pizzo".  At least when the real mafia extorts you for protection, you actually get protection.

  7. My first build was a SPR with an 18" medium contour bbl.  Fully dressed that sucker weighs about 9.5#.  My second build was an M4gery with a 16" Govt. profile barrel.  It weighs a lot less than the SPR. Scantily clad, she weighs in at 6.5#.  That's light enough for me.  I grew up when guns were so heavy, only men picked them up.  I guess heavy is a relative thing.

Edit: I don't know what I was thinking.  My SPR is not 13#. It didn't sound right to me when I typed it so I went and weighed it.

So, Alex, is it your interpretation that any rifle that accepts a detachable mag and also has a handguard will be redefined as an AW?

I think what Alex is getting at is Murphy wants to ban vertical foregrips.  Apparently, in Murphy's infinite wisdom, anything that makes a firearm more accurate or comfortable to shoot makes it an assault weapon.  I won't be surprised if he goes after weapons lights too.

They don't work.....when people queue upon Trenton in rain and snow....  and lawmakers look out windows at you and laugh....  been there done that a lot of us got tshirts.....

If 100K 2A rights activists showed up in Trenton, on the same day (that's important)  it would be HUGE, uge even.  We would have National attention.  Problem is, showing up to demand our rights is too much of a bother.

Actually, that's wrong.  If the NRA, GOA, Second Amendment Foundation, JPFO, NAGR, ... The list goes on.  There are actually 15 National 2A organizations  And then all the NJ 2A groups.  If they could all get together and put all of their expertise and some money into it.  Really make an effort to contact all NJ gun owners and organize Supreme Court worthy law suits....  If they did that, they could get 100K 2A supporters in Trenton.

It's absolutely doable, but, sadly, it will probably never happen.  We need leadership, without it there is very little will..

I have to say.  Being forced to join the NRA so you can join a club to use their range, well, it sorta feels like taxation without representation.  You are forced to pay, if you want to join the range, but you get nothing from the NRA in return except some stickers and a piece of made in china crap.  If we can't make Trenton sweat, maybe we need to make the NRA sweat.  Call them out for their inaction in NJ.

Honestly, at this point I'd consider maintaining a status quo a win with regard to both the 2A and taxes.

That's like saying I'd consider the boot of a nazi on my neck a win because he's not kicking me in the balls.  I mean, it could be worse but the "status quo" is still laying on the ground with a nazi boot on your neck.

Any person that thinks you can make a life here now in this state - based on this kind of attitude - is simply out of their minds.

There are millions of people who can make a life for themselves here in NJ .  It's just that almost all of them are illegal aliens.  It's easy to make a life for yourself when you don't really have to work for all of it because of the unfair advantage the Socialists are handing out by way of housing, free food, free day care (for the anchor babies) free medical, free dental and not having to pay taxes.  Obviously their 2A rights are respected because when they use guns while committing a violent crime (and were unfortunate enough to get caught) the court throws out the gun charges and hides them from ICE..

It makes you wonder, who is paying for all this free shit.

(viii) a semiautomatic version of an automatic rifle, shotgun or firearm

Since there is an automatic version of the Glock pistol (Glock 18) this would ban all Glock 17s, right?  It's under the PISTOL heading.

Technically, this is a chicken vs egg situation.  The G17 existed as a semi auto pistol first, then someone came along a few years later and made a FA version of a SA pistol.

The G17 is not a semi auto version of a FA pistol.  It's the other way around.
