    I have the same mount on my saiga. I like it.

     

    I'd go classic. I got mine with poly and I'm about to finish swapping for wood. I did get an extra gas tube and in going to add a rail to my poly hand guard for a forward grip that I can change out when I want.

    The wood stock is on now but I still need to drill the holes.

    Just a heads up seems there is the start of a panic for Russian ammo. Every bit of cheap 7.62x39 I was looking at is all gone now. I got 500 rounds of golden tiger last night and now there is none left i can find. The sanctions do no restric ammo from Russia but ppl are losing it so prices are going to go up. Of you need some buy soon. Might be hard to find soon.

    I'm going to be adding a rail to my AK (converted saiaga 7.62). I'm doing it on the bottom of the hand guard for a angeled grip.

    Are you using a plastic or wood hg?

    I read that you can buy sections of rail from magpul in the length you might need and they normally come with screw's and bolts. You should be able to drill into the hg and bolt the rail on if its plastic. If its wood I'm not sure.

    No that's not what I'm saying at all. He's not going to sell it online. He's going to cabelas no matter what I say to him. Since that's the case I would then match whatever cabelas offers him to keep it in the family. If I could afford more I would pay it to him. He only paid 300 for it in the first place and he doesn't like shooting it.

    Yeah that's part of why he got it. We where thinking he'd get maybe 200 at cabelas since he got it for 300 used 2 years ago there... If he can get in the 400 range I can't buy it for that. I would have given him the 200 for sure and kept it . :(

    My dad has a 12gauge Mossberg 590a1 with the speed load stock. He got it used maybe 2 years ago. He's thinking of selling it for a 20 gauge of 410. It has very few rounds through it from us owning it. Unknown from previous owner. What do you guys thing its worth as a trade in?

     

    Reason being I'm thinking of buying it from him if he does go to sell it if he's not going to get much from say cabelas. Then I'll have a handgun rifle and shot gun :).

    I have a spot scope but when its busy there I have no place to set it up. I wouldn't want to check every time I shot but no one ever let's me change my targets ever. We stood around after asking if we could set up when we got to the range for almost 20 min b4 ppl stopped last time we where there.

     

    Yes I have a vortex RDS with a 3x screw on magnifier on my saiga 7.62. You can acutally hit a target over 50 yards with it :p. I hope the next time I go I have a better experience.

    Just an update. In going to see about going this weekend again. Give it another shot so to speak. We will see what's up. Hopefully I can sight in my AK scope this time and not just sit there burning mags because no one will let me check targets.

    I did.. Last weekend on Sunday for my birthday. Race started at 1pm. But there was a class on the rifle range until 2. So we got there at 1:30 shoot handguns and .22s. Then had to wait 20 min to use the rifle range. Place was packed. No place to park either.

    I'm sure not everyone has issues there. My dads friend goes on weekdays and has had to duck and cover a few times on the rifle range. He askes if they can take a break and change targets. They say sure. He goes down range. And they start shooting! "Oh but you're over on the other side what does it matter? " it happened at least 2 times he told us.

    Why isn't it on the calendar then? Is it really a scheduled event or cops just being dicks? Last weekend we had a cop be an bit high and mighty with us when my dad was taking apart his ruger takedown when the range was cold. The guy came over and and basically told him not to handle any Firearms when he's down range. Mean while his buddy was unpacking and loading his pistol . then on the rifle range we set up and stand there so we can try and go down range to out up targets. No one stops shooting. Finally they stop and we all set up targets. We are in the middle ports and I have my AK so I want to shoot the short targets. The ppl on the end with the 25 yard board is shooting at 100. Ok maybe My fualt for not asking to switch ports . The other side the guys are shooting 100 and at the 50 ! The 50 from the far 2 ports. So they are basically shooting across our line of fire. And they set up targets in the middle of the 50 not even on the end. I'm starting to think this range might not be for us. We have much more fun at the gun guild even though its indoors. Its only the 2nd time we have been and have until Nov to decide if we will reup.

     

    If the palmerton range wasn't almost 2 hours away wed prob still go up there.

    I'll grab my badge and on you thanks. Jan you got it on the first try. NJ cops said they reserved the range . nothing was posted on the site and no emails went out so they wasted an hour each way. Its sad that its not an uncommon occurrence.
