  1. You will go far in life. Are you sure the Fairlawn police isn't making up crap just because they don't like you?

Seriously dude, you came here asking for help and then you get mad at people because they don't serve you the answer you want on a silver platter?  And you speak of entitlement ... What useful content have you provided so far?

I am quite far in life I don't need your approval. No useful information was provided, if I was asking how to make Carrot cake and keep getting information on Cheesecake baking it would not be useful. At any rate clearly there is nothing to be gained here.

  2. ahh yes another entitles nj shmuck...peoole should give useful answers not useless commentary. So piss off

Hey, Robinzon - why don't you cool it with the attitude. People are just trying to help.

Just because you are pissed at Fair Lawn don't take your shitty attitude out on the membership. No need to talk to people that way.

You asked for help - they gave correct and legitimate answers to your request for assistance. Take the advice or leave it, but lose the chip on your shoulder.

  3. Mental health form is also available online.

Anything you need should be here:

    http://www.njsp.org/firearms/forms.shtml

Yes thanks I am aware of all of that, but the rec. forms are not available anywhere except for the Records Beureau.. they now make me have them filled out/sent out etc.  and yes I am aware of what they SHOULD be doing sadly it is not what IS being done. They use to send them out in the past. They also should not be asking me for a copy of my DL and FOID every time but go figure.

  4. Thanks chief for the useless advice... go tell that to their captain.... I have gotten many permits from here and no you cannot use generic forms (believe me i tried). That is the main form is the SP form however there is also rec. forms, mental form etc.....   This is NJ you do know that right?

If they have their own forms, thats bs. Go to the NJSPD site and download the proper handgun permit forms there. You can download editable pdf forms for just about anything.

  5. What an overpriced shithole... Been there many know them well still the fat shmuck of an employee is as nonchalant as always.. Have nothing against the owner and his soon always respectful to me but I am not stepping my foot In There again, asking someone to show fid card to see a rifle considering I have purchased there before is simply disrespectful aside from the fact that it's not even a requirement for looking at something

  6. I'd take the Tavor over the FS2k

I have both and yes tavor is a better beast... I had the RFB 24" which I just sold.... it just was not consistent.

  7. Private land in PA. Although I've shot at cans and bottles at CJRPC.

What are you looking to get on the FS?

Oh FS around 2k with the Trijicon Tripower and Magnifier (that alone is $850) or $1400 without

  8. i like to shoot the bull pup rifles. The price I'm getting is cheaper than a Tavor.

The most active target I'll shoot is a 2l bottle of coke. So really just some fun.

Do tell where I can shoot some coke bottles... better yet Watermelons... I am yet to find a place in NJ i can do that . I have a few 50 cal pistols that I would like to test out on those

  9. Ahh, good.  I have a Tavor but from what I've read the FS2000 is the one to get.

I have both and Tavor runs circles around the FS2000...... can't even compare.... I am actually planning on selling my FS.... as much as I enjoy FN's creations.... its NO SCAR for sure (and I have one also).

  10. I use the DS Arms one, it's pretty neat.

I have DSARMS as well, it is solid and best out there. Installation can be tricky though make sure to release all the compression rails and align well first. After that its solid.

  11. Doesn't matter what you or I "THINK".  It's what the range owner wants/demands/is required by their insurance company, etc.  You shoot at their range PROVIDING you follow their rules.  If you don't like their rules, pack up your stuff and go elsewhere - that's why I don't shoot at certain other ranges any longer, I didn't like their rules.  I did not come in (like some) trying to change the world to conform to me, I got annoyed, I took my money and I left.

I do not disagree with the fact that rules of the specific range should be followed, I disagree with the fact that they seem to appear or disappear depending on which direction wind blows that day. Woodland is quite consistent with their rules.  I also never appreciated the fact that if I fire two shots in a row from my pistol at RTSP I immediately have someone fly up to me ready to arrest me (or anyone else for that matter). Two in a row is not rapid fire.   On the other hand I took multiple courses at GFH and two in a row are encouraged even. At any rate... my point is simple, a business is a business and customers should be appreciated and you are right I take my business elsewhere..... case and point.

  12. You are wrong!  Hot or cold range, anytime a firearm is unattended at CR it is supposed to be flagged.  Unattended to me is when it's not in your hand.

when a range is hot there is no need to have slides locked back or flags inserted...

    That's a very interesting opinion.

I have no problem what so ever flagging an inactive firearm.

I never said I drop my stuff at the bench and go for a ride.... and not in my hand is most certainly not equivalent to unattended... by that token when you are standing next to your rifle putting in round you should also have a flag in at the same time since it is not in your hand...

  13. Gan... when a range is hot there is no need to have slides locked back or flags inserted... that is exactly my point. Making up new rules or breathing down someones neck unnecessarily creates a hostile environment. I shoot at Cherry ridge...rules are very clear..range goes cold flags in chamber open..

  14. I have never had a bad experience at Meltzer's.  NEVER.  Odd I guess but they've been nothing but helpful.  I think their transfer fees are nuts but...

I refuse to make any purchases at Meltzers' the staff is not knowledgeable, condescending and have no interest in making a sale...... rather they are more interested in eating it seems. Also if you are under 50 they have no interest in your business..

I purchased from RTSP a number of pistols, a number from frank at SILVER BULLET and a whole bunch from Jim at ACTION SHOOTERS in Haledon (highly recommend).

Sadly, Otomanelli's is VERY VERY overpriced, otherwise nice people....

  15. That is my understanding as well.  Solves the west-bound issues cant help you east-bound U-Turn

The only thing I can contribute is that the RO's are overly jumpy... this is a PRIVATE range but it feels like a training range in prison sometimes... I understand that most of the staff are Police Officers, but that mindset has to be relaxed in a private setting. Frankly, I go to Woodland but that is more due to the fact that I live much closer to them.......   but all the ROs know me by name and are extremely friendly I never feel threatened, I have had that feeling at RTSP. Granted I purchased a number of expensive firearms at RTSP.....   Also, salespeople need to be aware when NICs closes on weekends, I have had to return twice due to NICs not going in in time (it was 4:30 and they were not aware).
