  1. I'm curious: how many of the individuals you got in touch with actually responded. I'm not talking about an automated "Thanks Sucker" email.

I contacted our congressmen, they sent me a personalized response that basically said they could not do anything....

I contacted Senator Dawn Marie Addiego, Assemblyman Joe Howarth Assemblywoman Maria Rodriguez-Gregg.  They were extremely helpful and put me in contact with their assistant.  She asked me very intricate details and questions, and I laid the entire situation out for them.

I contacted the New Jersey Attorney General's office with a certified letter.  When I called to check on the status, THEY TOLD ME THEY FORWARDED THE COMPLAINT TO THE NJSP!!  Like hello?  I'm contacting you because no one in the NJSP will get back to me, and they are rude, and they deflect questions and send me on wild goose chases because they don't care.  So I asked to speak to the manager in the NJAG office, and I explained to her what I just said. She then told me she would personally contact them and I would have a response within the week.  She apparently did follow through.

Every single person I contacted within the NJSP was not very helpful, minus an officer at my local barracks.  Trying to get in contact with the Firearms Investigation Unit was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE.  The receptionist was extremely rude and would get very butthurt with me on the phone because she was sick of me calling.  The line she would kick me over to was NEVER ANSWERED, multiple emails left, no responses.  When I finally got through to a detective he was also very short and rude, and refused to help me because he apparently thought I was a scumbag for being mentioned in police reports from when I was in high school.  He questioned me about them like I was nothing less than a criminal.  When we were done, I asked if he would let me know and he basically gave me a response that translated to, "go fuck yourself, we are busy".  I contacted higher ranking officers within the Firearems Investigation Unit.  None returned my calls.

My local barracks helped me by giving me contact information of higher ranking officers within FIU.  Besides that they had the attitude that I should just wait, because everyone else is waiting.  The Sergeant told me he would contact FIU, I suspect he never did.

I contacted many gun rights organizations within NJ.  Many did not get back to me,  I have been in contact with NJ2AS.

That sucks big time that it took that long.  You really should write an article for a newspaper to make this more public.  Better be sure to use them quickly, as it sounds like you may likely have trouble getting them extended where you are.

President of NJ2AS reached out to me.  They have been in contact with a reporter that wants to do an article on what we have all been experiencing.  He said that my case is a perfect example of the injustices we have been facing, and that he will put the reporter in contact with me.  I plan to follow through for the good of the cause, and in hopes it will help us all out collectively.

  2. Because the NJSP scammed the legislature.  The legislature passed a law that listed "bad" guns and said all guns that were "substantially identical" were also bad.  The court correctly ruled that there is no such thing as "substantially identical", Its either identical or it ain't.  Instead of throwing the law out, the court let the NJAG decide what "substantially identical" meant.  The NJAG turned the job over to the Firearms Investigation Unit of the NJSP who is certainly filled with pro gun troopers.  Why would you volunteer to for that assignment if you didn't like being around guns all day?

Those troopers wrote a ridiculous list of 5 "evil features" and made the rules very easy to circumvent.  The legislators who passed the law don't know the difference.  The courts don't know the difference.  The AG probably didn't know the difference.  The court ruled that that list was good enough and it was adopted into the administrative code where it's been law ever since.

Finally someone who tells it like it is.  Everyone wants to dance around the ugly truth staring us in the face.

  3. After around 10 months of total waiting time, I HAVE RECEIVED MY PERMITS!!!!  Let this be a lesson in persistence for anyone disheartened by their non-issuance of FIDs or P2Ps.  For the past two months I have contacted the NJAG, ALL of our ® Senators, and the majority of the pro-2A organizations in NJ.  Not sure which or what combination of them are responsible for greasing the wheels, but if I had not pressed the issue to this degree I doubt I would have my permits today.

  4. 1. You need new friends.

    2. Just because people react with shock and horror when you disagree with them and voice your opinion doesn't mean you've actually done anything shocking or horrific. You've committed no crime. They aren't being forced to listen.

I'm not aware of people being arrested in mass for speaking their mind or voicing their opinions. People may call you names (bigot, racists, ammo sexual, etc) but that generally means they don't have an intelligent response to what you just said.

Keep up the good work kid but cut down a little on the hyperbole.

Thank you sir. Here are a few examples of people being arrested for speaking their minds:

  5. As I've written before gun rights have been the only positive development during the last three decades. Free speech is on its way out. We're tracking closely with Europe with regard to overly broad prohibitions on "offensive" speech, writing, and even beliefs. The Supreme Court has gutted the 4th amendment (searches). We have secret, extra-legal courts to deal with "terrorism" and that answer to no-one. Dennis Hastert was convicted not of molesting children but of "layering" savings withdrawals. Hell, I got a letter last year from my bank, citing some strange law, because I was using my ATM too frequently.

Good article on how we've abandoned constitutional government: http://bit.ly/1rtcqm9

Have you heard a single presidential candidate this past year talk about smaller government and lowering taxes? Those have become dead-letter issues.

Comedians won't go near college campuses for fear of being black listed for "offensive" jokes. We've become infatuated with providing wedding cakes for lesbians and transgender bathroom "rights." Our entire civil discourse is dominated by myths -- Black Lives Matter being only one example. Our children are brainwashed from grammar school. Our universities are hotbeds of loony left wing propaganda.

Given this climate, and the in-pouring of foreigners with no concept of liberty, I do not believe the Second Amendment will survive much longer. Our next president recently gave a speech for gun control in which she asked, "how can we let a small minority [gun owners] dictate to the rest of us?" That's a paraphrasal but it shows what we're in for. We are, actually and in terms of numbers, a minority. And as you know "democracy" is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner.

Forum contributors living in gun-friendly states keep saying "it can't happen here." I would have said the same about the various left-wing pathologies that have overcome us. But dammit it's happened. Guns are next.

If I could like this a thousand times....

Certain countries in Europe have been ARRESTING people for speaking out against Muslim extremism.  I am 22 years old, and the overwhelming majority of kids my age are raging liberals who have no concept of free speech or libertarian ideals.  If I say anything that is too far from their comfort zones, many of the things you mentioned, I am scoffed and assaulted like I am some fool.  People are so clueless and just eat up what is fed to them from the liberal media, liberal educational institutions.  Offending someone's feelings is now a crime, having a differing opinion is now a crime.

  6. I went to the AG Civil Rights office in Cherry Hill today and inquired about filing a complaint. Long story short, they only deal with fake shit like people getting their feelings hurt not real rights like this. She was very polite though and gave me the phone number to the office in Trenton (same number that CC's office gave me).

I called that number and got transferred about six times and finally got a hold of a nice lady that is an agent. She told me there is no need right now to go to the office in Trenton. She gave me their email and told me to write them a letter (witch I just did) and they will write up a case and get in contact with me. She also told me that they get these cases from time to time and there is not much they can do about it. We talked about it for a bit and it kind of gave me the impression that "We are the Government and were not going to get ourselves in trouble". Hopefully I'm wrong but we shall see what happens.

I also just called the NJSP complaint line  http://www.njsp.org/information/complaint.shtml

and inquired about filing a complaint. An Investigator answered the phone, once he found out why I was calling he didn't seem to care. He pretty much just took my name, number and address and said somone will get back to me.

Write directly to Attorney General Robert Lougy.  He is basically the NJSP's "boss".  He will handle your complaint and make them expedite your request.

You are experiencing the SAME problem I have been dealing with.  No one in the government gives a fuck, and none of them are in threat of losing their jobs over poor performance or poor customer service so they really don't break their backs with helping you.  The NJSP doesn't care about you, your complaint, or your permits, they just enjoy collecting the 100k+ salary that YOU pay them out of your paychecks every week. Pitiful.

  7. You guys are missing the point entirely here.  Even if you do not agree with Trump, his positions, his demeanor, etc, you need to unify and vote for him simply because the alternative you will be left with is Hillary Fuckface.  The Democrats go into the polls and hit the (D) every time, regardless of whoever is behind the ticket.  This unifying hivemind of zombie voting power is one of the reasons they sweep elections (especially in this state).  We can sit here and say Trump has done this and that and fracture the vote and the party even further.  Even if you don't like him, he should get your vote....because as heinous as you may think he is, Hillary will top him 10x, especially in the realm of firearms.  Spite the Democratic party at EVERY opportunity you can, you should all know how important this is from being residents of NJ.

  8. Did you hand write/type a letter and mail it in or are you talking about an email?

I have not been waiting nearly as long as you guys but to me anything over 30 days is 100% unacceptable. Its been about seven weeks since I applied for three P2P's.

Yesturday I emailed Christie through this link, http://www.state.nj.us/governor/contact/ from previous posts in this thread. I got this response just a few hours later:
