  1. Currently looking at: M&P Shield, Glock 26, XD-S

Looking for advice to narrow down my selection. Would love to hear from people that owned/shot these, especially owners who may have more than one of the listed above.

I've shot the XD-S, found it to be a very soft shooter. Felt good on the hands but the accuracy did not translate well. I'd say it is probably me. I probably needed more time to learn the trigger on the XD-S.

I'm a fan of glock hence why the 26 is on there and do own the 19 already and shoot amazing with it. Also like its mag capacity.

The Shield seems to be on the top of list when it comes to sub-compact with its size. Downfall is its mag capacity.

I'm also open for other suggestions with other sub-compact.

  2. Is it illegal to *possess* an airsoft gun without an orange tip, or is it illegal for retailers to *sell* an airsoft without an orange tip?

I'm not too clear maybe krdshrk can clarify. I do know that All big airsoft online retailers will sell with an orange tip whether its removable or painted. Once you get it, it is up to you. I know people who will remove it and only keep it indoors. But once you go outside with it removed its when it becomes a problem.

  3. No argument from me on the stupidity, but what I'm more interested in is if airsoft guns are ruled to be firearms in NJ or not.  The legal standard can't be "it's not a firearm unless the public sees you brandishing it".

The guy probably had the orange tip removed which is illegal to be removed and would be stupid to have removed in public. Speaking of airsoft. Wish I had something like that to go to. Would be fun to do milsim with some buddies.

  4.

Each year thousands of Americans are wrongfully denied their Second Amendment rights when the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) incorrectly determines that they are prohibited from firearm ownership. Compounding this grave injustice, this week the FBI made public that they have stopped processing NICS denial appeals.

I feel like something is up.

  5. Starting to think that the PD does this for multiple reasons.

    1. To paint a picture of your social circle. I'm starting to think this especially after hearing numerous stories of PD's "losing" the reference letters giving you the two options of them having to resend it or picking another reference.

    2. Use the reference against you. They may also investigate these reference and see what kind of a person they are which can tell a lot about you as well. People generally hang out with people who are similar to them.

Regardless of the real reason, its a burden, unnecessary, and just prolongs the process for no reason.
