Not at all. I don't know what went down between the two of you, but overall there are many very knowledgeable and friendly members here.

51 minutes ago, Dr. Goodshot said:the PD can take as long as they want. Is anyone working on that
I believe that has been challenged multiple times, and shot down by the NJ courts. They can take as long as they want to process the applications.
51 minutes ago, Dr. Goodshot said:it keeps the nuttier element from building arsenals
I think that's the intent, but for me the reality is "does that really matter"? Why is having one firearm less dangerous than many? One of the many "feel good" laws "for your safety" that really do nothing for anyone's safety but simply expand control for those in power ...

Welcome!
The first thing you will need is a NJ Firearms Purchaser ID card (FID). This will allow you to purchase long guns and handgun ammo in the state of NJ. You do not need any "intention of buying it first".
If you are interested in buying a handgun, you will need a NJ Permit to Purchase a handgun (P2P). You must present this when making the purchase and once issued it is only valid for 90 days (it may be extended one time for an additional 90 days). Note that you do not need a IFD to purchase a handgun, just the P2P, but you will need the FID to purchase handgun ammo.

but hard-working, law-abiding taxpayers, small business owners, elderly nursing home patients, etc.? Well, none of them merit any of his concern apparently!
Wow, this dolt has some really screwy values.
Seeing how well Booker did on Tuesday, it looks like most of the state shares in those values.

NJ is "safer" with a limit. lol

FWIW prior to 2020 if I found 9 mm for under $0.20 a round I thought that was a good deal.

The only real advantage to something compact is to be able to carry. Will you going any place where you will be able to carry on a regular basis?

Voting is not "free", the process and infrastructure is funded through our taxes.
You have a right to bear ams. The manner in which you choose to exercise that right is up to you.

Anyone making those arguments IMO has either: 1) zero familiarity with real-world crime data, or 2) is so locked into other aspects of the issue (fear? politics?), they have their heads stuck in the sand and have literally lost their ability to harness logic and reason.
Politicians and the media make these arguments because they know it is not really about safety, it is about generating fear to gain control.
Regular citizens will make these arguments because they have been brainwashed into fear by the politicians and the media.

The point I am trying to make is these are all very specifically enumerated and carefully worded rights our constitution. It's a very slippery slope to start legislating around them, to put restrictions in place of what someone thinks is "right".
Let's try this:
QuoteI think the suggestion is that mandating some training, aligned in a manner that does not create a hurdle to the right to
keep in bear armsvote, is better for all in the long run. Most of us here would agree that it's better for all in the long run if PM had not been voted into office. But would the left agree?

21 minutes ago, Grapeshot said:I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I would have no problem with some level of training being required, and I'll tell you why. Other than some of the scary shit
We should then apply the same logic to other constitutional rights, like voting and free speech. I've heard some people say some scary shit and vote for some scary politicians with scary ideas. It would be for the safety of our republic.

So here is what I propose:
- When you register to vote, you must also register for the voter education/civics class.
- The civics class will be 8 hours in length and will cover topics necessary to understand about the history of our country, the structure of our government and purpose of each branch, the constitution and its principals, and the reason for the electoral college.
- After the class you must pass a 50 question exam and score over 80% to be eligible to vote.
- Upon passing the exam you will receive a voter ID card.
- The voter ID card will be required to actually vote.
- When you go to vote, you must retake and pass the 50 question exam (NJ only - to mirror their FID/P2P process)
- You must pass a background check before you take the class and every time you vote (NJ only) (we don't want criminals voting!)
- You must obtain your voter ID card 30 days before voting (waiting period).
- Prior to issuing your voter ID card you must have positive response from 3 references (again, NJ only).
- When you move, you must update your voter ID card and the state has 30 days to process it. (NJ residents must pass the exam and background check again).
Sounds about right? Very fair - after all, this is for "our safety" in the election process right?
Did I miss anything?

Absolutely! Because in the wrong hands, voting is dangerous too! Look what's happened to NJ!

I don't see anything on the Range 14 web site that says they prohibit this.

Sounds reasonable.

Yes, this is exactly how it works. You make the purchase online and then the seller transfers the handgun to your designated FFL. When you are ready to pick it up the FFL will then do the NICS and charge you a NICS and transfer fee. Different shops/FFLs will charge different transfer fees.

There has been an inundation of "northern aggressors" in that area and they were responsible for the Joe Cunningham upset of Katie Arrington 2 years ago. We need to see Nancy Mace take back the seat in the House and I am very hopeful for that. He stepped on his dick with putting Parris Island at risk for closure.
There has been negativity for Graham because he essentially hasn't done enough to fight the Dems. My wife is concerned but I have to remind her that we live in an urban area so naturally there will be a higher concentration of Dems. I think though that right leaning support is very strong through the rest of the state so we should be OK (as you saw going south on 17).
