  1. I qualified with one pistol so that's all I have on my permit, but would like to add more in Hudson and am likely going to hear the same story - full reapplication process from scratch. Here is my thinking though; my originally issued is still good while I wait for the new application process. So (except for the outrageous cost) the money is all I'm out while I wait for the updated permit. Am I looking at this correctly?
  2. They did similar to me in Hudson - the date signed on the card was 18 days earlier then when they called me to get it. Large time gap.
  3. They gave no explanation on why it took weeks to go from being signed and completed to being given to me. The PO was surly and clearly annoyed that he had to give me the permit. I responded with a weapons-grade assault smirk. They are clearly aware that they're not following guidance with that backdating move.
  4. At my court (Hudson) it was a person at 'Criminal division customer service'. There is one person in that department that handles all permits.
  5. LOL. I'm a little concerned about the fact that they didn't check any boxes. I'm hoping that doesn't come back to haunt me later. There was no attached court order with 50000 restrictions on it like some folks have gotten, at least.
  6. Well, hold onto your hats. I received a call from the PO at my local station this AM to come and pick up my permit. They backdated it to be under 90 days, LOL. One issue is they didn’t check any box on the restrictions list. Not sure if that’s good or bad, but the court order that came with it is a simple one-page document signed by the judge that says ‘blah blah is hereby issued a permit to carry a pistol’. Thanks for all of the support to get me here!
  7. In your letter, i would put ‘reasonable’ in before expectation, personally. A reasonable expectation is a legal term that I’ve seen a lot of recently on other matters. Reasonable is defensible within the framework of the existing codes. You’re not asking for anything outside (what should be) standard and customary procedure. Just a thought.
  8. The most important thing to remember is that the machine we're dealing with are not our friends. They may be cordial; but they seem to almost universally have contempt for anyone who wants permits. I've had some friendly conversations with the cogs, but inevitably they out themselves by action or lack thereof.
  9. [email protected] is the address - you can write up your timeline and see if they can assist. At the very least it gives them ammunition to use to leverage the system.
  10. See my Hudson county posts in this thread. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm solidly over 90 days. I'll post if I get some information or motion on the process.
  11. This has been posted before, i think. It leads me to also believe that the spirit of the directive is clearly calendar days.
  12. I am a member, yes. I emailed them my timeline based on advice from this forum. I didn’t expect an answer, more for their information. I don’t think they will be able to do anything for me, as far as I can tell.
  13. StrikeForce has already contacted me to tell me that Dan may want to call to discuss. I didn't realize there was latitude for those 14 extra days, so I'm watching the clock and waiting to see if Strike Force has some input.
  14. That's the impression I got. That this is the way it is, and tough luck if you don't like it. I'm not sure I understand the 'prosecutor must approve your permit' part. That seems like an excuse to delay.
  15. Spoke with Hudson county clerk today, finally. She said (when I said my name) she knew who I was and was in the list, but that they're "Waiting for the prosecutor to give approvals, and they have 15k people now in the queue. The prosecutor is only sending them for signature by the judge in batches of 200 every few weeks." She also said I wasn't in the recent batch. I turned all of my paperwork in on 7/5. I mentioned that I'm solidly over 90 days waiting and she responded that it wasn't their problem; it could be months more and I would "just have to wait".
  16. I just sent my tale of woe to the Strikeforce email address, with a timeline.
  17. Hudson county update - turned in my app to Hoboken PD on 7/5 and (with all of my previously listed tribulations) have still not heard anything from the court or the PD. PD claims it's in the hands of the court. I'm over 90 days as of today. I might call the clerk but still a little concerned that they'll use my packet to start their wood stove if I do.
  18. I've heard that from a retired NY LEO as well. NYPD guys that moved upstate would be going down the Palisades late at night to a Manhattan shift and get pulled over with NY plates and then hassled. I thought they could 50 state carry but not (apparently) in NJ.
  19. Congratulations! This gives me hope in Hudson county. So far, lots of doubt and uncertainty from the PD. Great news!
  20. Gun for Hire gave me a 'Deadly Force rules' paper to sign and turn in to the PD, but when I turned in my package the guy in Hoboken refused to take it and said it was not required. No matter what I said, he just kept handing it back so I kept it.
  21. Update: After emailing the chief last night and getting his response immediately, sure enough the head of the investigations department called me at 8:30am. He apologized for about 30 minutes, saying that he had taken over the role just 6 weeks ago, these processes were complicated and he wasn't quite up to speed, and that he absolutely made mistakes in processing my paperwork causing the delay. He actually made me feel guilty for escalating it by the end. He promised to bring the approved paperwork to the courthouse himself by the end of the day today. I told him that since 60 days was the law and he was beyond that, I was going to come down and arrest him. We had a laugh but he was truly apologetic and completely understood my concern that at any moment all of the rules can change and shaft me out of lots of money and effort. So NOW; my files are presumably at the courthouse and we shall see what happens. He said he was going to put a note on my file that said he unintentionally delayed it and would they please advance it quickly. We shall see, Hudson county isn't done with me yet.
