  1. I think this can be effective just by keeping those teachers largely anonymous. It doesn't matter if any teachers are armed. The potential for an armed teacher to shoot back may be enough of a deterrent.

An armed teacher can be a hero even if they don't take down a gunman. Just shooting back can force a gunman to take cover, and these precious extra few mins can save lives as LEOs arrive.

  2. disarming a potential shooter happens more often than people think. having to worry about being confused as the shooter happens more often than you think but less so. Media rarely focuses on the former.

If teachers are armed in schools, there's a whole new set of training that has to occur for both teachers and LE.

  3. SRO was the hero at my wife's high school, Orange High, in Hillsborough, NC. Zero losses of life. Look it up. Anything is better than nothing.

You never know how you'll react until you are put in the same situation. Also things can change in your own life that can flip you. Knew a guy who was going to stay in combat infantry until he was forced out. Complete 360 after he became a grandfather in mid 40s.

  4. I just moved back from NC after being in NJ for 5 years, so laws may have changed.

handguns have to be through FFL like it is listed above. This is federal law and I don't think NC laws make any additional mention of it. I'm only mentioning it again because you need to make sure your NC ffl will accept the private transfer of a handgun. Some will only accept out of state handguns from another ffl. Can be a pain so make sure you call first.

long guns only required to NC ffl if private sale like in this case. If buying from a dealer, NC resident has to fulfill the requirements of the other state and nothing additional from NC.

  5. For those of you as jealous as me, there may be an opportunity to be 5% as happy as bully. Saw this on reddit firearms.

"I was at the Great American Outdoors show in PA last week and stopped to browse the Colt showings. I happened start chatting up the Colt representative as we looked over the newly returned Cobra. After a few minutes I posed the question “So when will you bring back the pythons?” His response exactly was: “Stay tuned. We had to reintroduce ourselves to the revolver market with smaller frame revolvers before moving up to medium and full size frames of higher caliber. So definitely stay tuned to us is all I can say for now....” said with a slight grin I might add

Does this almost secure the dreams of many of a Python revival? I sure hope so. Just thought I’d let you all know."

Are you paying him to just get prescription refills? If so, that sounds like a shakedown! Can't the doctor write the prescription with 'x" amount of refills?

As others said, wait until your next scheduled appointment.  You do not need a FID to transport firearms to and from the range.  Sucks waiting but I wouldn't pay extra.

    No refills on c2s.
