  1. Fun fact, the NRA is actually very small and only donates a relatively tiny portion of money. The idea that it's Gun "Safety" vs. The NRA or that the "Gun Lobby" is the only thing keep gun rights around, is mostly a liberal fabrication.

The reality is that people have gun rights because they exercise them. Because large portions of the population in "those states" have guns, shoot them, go to gun ranges, and two most important parts: they SHARE the fact that they do, and they let outsiders in. How many of us in NJ are too scared to even mention our hobby at work for fear of a call to HR?

For example how many gun ranges STILL don't allow pictures? Anthony @ gunforhire gets it, their range is awesome and they make it very social media friendly so you can be a casual shooter and show your friends. MORE than any lobby or org, we need a climate where some random nobody whos only seen a gun in a video game, can think they're cool, go rent one, put that picture on Instagram and bring their friends next month. In places like FL and TX, "gun owner" isn't just a small subset of hardcore enthusiasts, it's EVERYONE.

Also to the unnamed range officer at an unnamed gun range in 2011 who gave my friend tons of crap, watched him like a hawk, yelled at him and ultimately made him feel completely unwelcome at the gun range because he is Hispanic, F you. He's also a USMC vet who toured Iraq twice in service of our country...People like YOU do just as much damage to the 2A as any liberal gun grabber ever would.

  2. Many companies set up massive call centers in India over the last couple decades. They built facilities and trained lots of people.

Then a mix of public perception, the accents, and some business deals, those companies moved their call centers to the Phillipines instead.

Now many of the centers in India have the tools and people, but no business to work for. So these "entreupreneurs" use spoofed numbers (impersonating your area code and some even the exchange, that's the second set of 3 numbers in your phone number) and call for a variety of things, ranging from shady but real products like electrical or solar, to downright scams like pretending they're Microsoft or the IRS.

We're there any lawsuits when the 30 been went into effect?

As I understand it, there wasn't really much interest in AR and black rifle type guns in the late 80s early 90s and the Russian/Chinese stuff like AK/SKS sporters were pretty much new to the USA. Only shortly before  and at the start of the fed ban of 94 was there suddenly a huge interest in "black rifle" type guns (the irony) and then after the 04 sunset did a bazillion AR manufacturers come out of the woodwork with a million diffferent guns. Even CCW was not existent even in places like TX or FL until well into the 90s. The fed AWB may have been one of the best things to ever happen for gun rights on a a national level. People who had grandpa's old Sears .22 in the closet and never even been to a gun range with it, suddenly wanted an AR-15 and a concealed carry permit.

  4. We're screwed if this doesn't stay contained...

If enough major banks join in on this. Gun shops cant get a loan to open a business, can't take credit card payments or checks from customers or vendors, and have to engage in cash/money order only payments.

"high capacity magazines" is a catch-all that snags 90+% of all gun shops. Anyone even selling a handgun with an 11 round magazine now can't use a bank....

This results in massive risk having to deal with huge amounts of cash, both in storing it, transporting it, and keeping track of it for taxes. It also cripples online sales, turning easy and modern transactions back to the 90's where you have to mail off a money order and not get your product 2 weeks later. That is, if the money order isn't lost.

While I agree with short and sweet I can't stand the word cringy. That is a generation Z word.

Got news for you, if you don't get Gen Z on board with gun ownership and gun rights, the only guns you'll own in 15 years will be hidden in PVC tubes underground in the woods.

Also, I don't know how many times I have to say it. If your slogan is freakin PARAGRAPHS of quotes in 18th century vernacular...ain't nobody gonna read that. Effective slogans can be read in 1-2-3 seconds by someone glancing over while driving by, or seeing a glimpse for a few frames on the nightly news or social media post.

  6. This is because our opponents are liars, they don't fight fair nor do they keep their word.

IF they genuinely believed what they say, and only have a problem with "assault" weapons, handguns, etc. then a photograph of people using a "sporting" firearm such as a break action shotgun at a public shooting range playing a sport which is recognized in the olympics should be no problem.

After all, even anti-gun politicians like Joe Biden claim to have no issues with sportsmen, hunters, etc. and even claim to do such things themselves!

But we know this is a lie. Our opponents are liars,  they say whatever is convenient, and their goal is not to come to a safe compromise on gun laws that prevents unnecessary deaths (that I can at least respect, and something all of us agree on) but instead the total destruction of all gun ownership in the USA.

  7. AR-15 "pistols" with the "arm brace" are the hot new thing in most of the USA. They're calling them pistols to get around the NFA. If there's millions and millions of 5.56mm chambered "pistols" I wonder if this will come around and bite rifle owners in the ass one day?

  8. Carbide grit blade is a good idea, can go nice and slow with a recip or jig saw.

Buying a new barrel for this probably wouldn't happen. It had its guts pumped with brake grease almost a decade ago and hasn't been cleaned once. That's the sort of life this thing lives. And i think it enjoy it. It doesn't get money spent on it LOL

  9. Sorry, couldn't resist with the title.

Anyway I have a 28" vent rib barrel. I'd like to cut it down to ~20" and clip on a pair of iron sights to the vent ribs for slug shooting.

I'm assuming a pipe saw would do the job and some sandpaper could clean up any burrs.

Is it really that simple or I'm missing something?

Tthe mofo Nikolas Cruz passed a NICS check.

Dana Loesch addressed this as well. The issue is that states do not have to update their data to NICS in a timely manner by law, or if they do the records are outdated. Somewhere around 7 million prohibited persons could pass a NICS tomorrow if they walked into a gun shop. This is why I support mandatory and timely reporting of criminal and mental health info to NICS.

Is anyone surprised by Russian shill AVB's support for an AWB?

Are we sure he is a Russian shill?

Through gun ownership, I have met many people from Russia and various Eastern European countries. I found all of them to be very proud Americans, passionate gun owners, and huge supporters of individual liberty and limited government.

It's almost as if people who have experience with socialism understand how much it sucks...

Do your really believe that all of us gun owners in the United States have a realistic chance to use those guns to be the "armed citizenry to keep the state, these United States, free from tyranny..."?  Really...???  Not a chance.  If we were to forcefully rebel using our guns, we would be crushed, killed or imprisoned by LEO, National Guard and the Military.  Time for you and anyone else who believes that to come back to reality.

Yeah, small arms are completely useless against the US military.

Remember 2001 when we rolled into Afghanistan, shock and awe, and won it in just a couple months?

I mean, a bunch of guys with old Soviet surplus small arms couldn't possibly hold out against the US armed forces in a 17+ year conflict...

  13. People quoting, interpreting, or referencing the 94-04 AWB are both misinforming themselves and others.

Our opponents aren't dumb. They have learned quite a bit in the last 24 years. Places like CA and NY had AWB similar to Fed or NJ. Then they took a look at how people got around it. The "XM-15s" with the pistol grip and welded on brake, etc.

This is why the newer AWB ban all features, i.e. you needing the fish man grips and such. They learned. And they learned again now, seeing the "XM-15" with the "Monster Man" grip on it. Next round, they will concoct a way to try and ban semi auto altogether, or think up some criteria such as overall length, or who knows what else, to get rid of the compliant fish man rifles.

Is that day now? Next week? Next decade? Who knows. But you can't look at '94 AWB as a reference for plans.

It's not looking good for those who are looking for the courts to save us from an onslaught of new anti-gun laws.

No No! You see, Murphy is gonna go TOO far! And then the courts are gonna shut him down! Because he's a stupid liberal! Just you wait and see. You have to understand the 4-D chess that goes into it! [insert toothless advocacy group here] needs our donations because they're going to snare Murphy in this legal trap!

    (The above was sarcasm)

  15. I have a Mossberg 500 that back in 2010 I completely coated and slopped the entire action with brake caliper grease. I have not cleaned it one time since and probably never will. Works smooth as butter, fires great.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is that the Shockwave isn't a pretty gun. Who cares there's a tiny little pocket of goop the size of a sesame seed inside the barrel and some scratches on the side. It will blast the cheapest 00 buck Serbia ever exported into a nice 8"+ group at 5 yards. That's what it was designed to do.

Oh and you can keep it under your car seat if you ever don't live in NJ, that's always a plus.
