    I mean I really don't know how to say it without either coming off like a jerk, mall ninja or humblebragging. But every time I've fired an AR type I have no problem hitting a paper plate as fast as I can pull the trigger out to 50 yards, with irons or a red dot. These things really don't kick at all, 5.56 was literally invented with having as little as possible recoil during full auto as a major consideration, and is incredibly easy to control in rapid fire "fully semi automatic" CNN mode. 

    This post is not in any way intended to sound like braggadocio...

    Actually in this regard they are quite useful.

    I think what bites a lot of us in the ass in NJ is that since most places don't give a crap about flash hiders, everything pretty much comes with a threaded barrel these days. But here in NJ you can't, so the option is weld on a useless nut, or a useless but cool looking brake, so most people go with the brake. I know I did on a couple rifles.

    To be honest your post makes you come off like kind of a jerk, but I do agree with you. I never liked having a muzzle brake on .223Get a good grip on the rifle, use a sling,it doesn't really kick at all and is just fine for follow up shots. Practice helps a lot.

    Awesome graphs capt14k. Also I am not sure if this is correct, but I believe some of these studies also define "children" as various ages up to as high as 26. So the inflated numbers of "dead children" bring up horrific images but in reality are referring to mostly adults in gangs killing each other.

     

    Also speaking of gangs, I'd love to see these results broken down by county or better yet  ZIP code instead of state. Even a high murder place like Louisiana, I'd like to see how what precentage of those numbers come specifically out of a city like New Orleans compared to some boring normal suburb just outside of it.

    Franks is good, I prefer Crystal brand though. And yes it goes on everything. I use it as a salad dressing, to make tuna salad (instead of mayo), sandwiches, eggs, and of course meats but everyone already knows that!

    Does anyone have any experience/opinions on the Chiappa Rhino? I've been thinking of getting one for a while, the compact one. But from most people all I've heard are bad things. Guy at the gun shop straight up told me not to get it. Yikes! Is it that bad or no? Anyone have one? Or just better with an S&W snubnose?

    Sure, but for most people there's really just nothing that compares to online ammo. For me is over an hour each way to PA. And the shops don't tend to sell at the prices that websites do. Nor with the convenience of shipping to my door.

    Also supply and demand. Brick and mortar already charges a lot compared to most online deals. Add in the hypothetical that you now have less options, and then the price gouging begins.

    I don't know about their range being very good. It was extremely dark, but I could live with that. However when I went and redeemed my hour of free range time, I noticed my booth had MULTIPLE bullet holes in the SIDE walls of it, coming from the booth "next door" - yeah, no need to be around people that fire perpendicular to the backstop....multiple times....:lol:

    Also to the people talking about how CA "beat" the ban on their grandfathered magazines...they also lost their bullet buttons and even worse, they lost the ability to buy ammo online. One step sideways, two steps back. I'm not trying to be negative and don't want to offend anyone. But it's just not a good outlook.

    Probably a lot, they have the next 8 years to do anything they feel like. That said, there's nothing yet signed into law. This year we'll most likely see the end of private sales, a ten round magazine limits without grandfathering (or one for which the grandfathering is excessively onerous and not worth the 5 rounds) and the ability for low level counselors to take away your gun rights.

     

    Also a lot of people are gonna chime in about rallies and lawsuits. They're good people and they mean well. But how are those lawsuits going for NY, MD, CT etc.? Yeah...nowhere...

    Our buggest problem in NJ is that we have 1 person who owns ten guns, rather than ten people who own one gun. This is why other states have gun rights, and we don't. Small numbers of passionate enthusiasts are great, but what really stops these bullshit laws are when random people's grandmas are out there scratching their heads because a new law proposes to ban their purse gun. We don't need more people buying their 14th handgun, we need more people buying their first. 

    The system in NJ is cleverly designed not to keep the amount of guns you can buy low, but to keep the amount of people who buy guns low. That's why FID card sends letters to your job, makes you list references, etc. Systematic intimidation, in the past this was likely used as racial bias as well.
