  1. You guys and gals are ridiculous. I actually work at a Deli in South Orange so I am very familiar with the Taylor Ham vs. Pork Roll contoversy.

Also @Mrs. Peel thanks for letting me know about the shooting contests and such! I'm looking forward to being more involved soon!

This is as passionate a forum as you're going to find within NJ.  Well done.  Good luck and welcome to this group!  Many of us (myself included) are casual observers who seldom comment or post.  I'm feeling chatty today, so you ended up getting my welcome first!

Thank you! I really appreciate it :)

  3. So, I have a bit of a dilemma here. I am living in NJ but both of my rifles are in Florida still. I plan on moving one or both of them back to the state after I visit my family for Christmas. My question to the fine folks here is whether I am legally able to do so and if one of my rifles is legal in the state or not. I have read and been told different things by different people.

    1. According to njsp.org it seems that I can legally transport my firearms into the state if I am moving here without an NJ firearms purchasers permit.

    2. Another gun owner I spoke with told me that you need a permit to legally transport into the state.

    3. Officially I have been living here for 2 years, but I am still legally a Florida resident. Would this effect my ability to transport firearms into the state?

    4. I have an Inland M1 Carbine. From my research before it seems like they are on the list of rifles generally banned as "Assault Weapons" but I was also told by a gun owner friend that as long as it doesn't posses two or more of the "assault weapon features" i.e. pistol grip, bayonet lug, etc. that it would be legal to posses here. Does anyone know if the M1 Carbine is legal to own in the state?

If anyone can help me with any of these questions It would be greatly appreciated! I've been told too many different things at this point to be sure one way or the other.

  4. Hello folks!

My name is Walt and I'm 26 years old and still officially a resident of the state of Florida but I have been living in NJ for 2 years now. I recently got the chance to start shooting again with a couple friends I met here and have been extremely impressed with the interest and vigor of the brave few who continue to be firearms owners and enthusiasts in the state. I left my personal collection, (only 2 rifles at the moment) at home when I moved because of my uncertainty regarding NJ's Gun Laws.

I am a new collector of historical firearms, particularly World War 1 and 2. My interests lie mostly in guns from these eras but I definitely want to add some modern weapons to my collection sometime in the near future.

I've been looking for people who I can bounce ideas off of, blow off steam with, and get legal advice from. I hope to be able to contribute to this community!
