I am in Monmouth County. My money order was cashed as of today. Could have been cashed over the last week or so as I don't check daily. My fingerprints were done on 7/22. Application went in about a week prior...
Has anyone else in Monmouth County seen movement with judiciary, apart from the person who received on appeal?

Why does it sound like Monmouth County is attempting to set the high bar on restrictions (assuming all this is accurate)? Shouldn't the goal be consistency across the State? Afterall, it's a STATE permit...

Sounds like Monmouth County changed the Judge responsible for reviewing carry permit applications. Not sure what this means but I think it at least suggests that the Judge who was allegedly refusing to advance applications isn't part of the process anymore. Not confirmed.

Anyone know if any hazmat shippers in central NJ that will ship hazmat as a service? Trying to figure out how to ship some primers. Thanks.

Seeing as UPS just today changed their policy to prohibit non-FFLs from shipping any firearm and will only now accept firearms via pick-up from an authorized shipper, I need to ship via USPS to an FFL (they literally changed the policy today, as I went to drop off at a hub and was told a memo hit this morning and they couldn't accept).
I read the USPS regs, but I am looking for feedback from anyone on the drop off experience at USPS. With UPS, I used to bring the box in, show a copy of the receiving FFL for verification, and that was it.
Is there special paperwork for USPS for a rifle or do I simply verbally indicate the box contains a rifle and show the receiving FFL just like UPS? Thanks for any feedback.

Make a template, ask Walgreens to take the photo leave some room, then cut...

Picked up the permit.
For those of us in Morris County
The Hon. Thomas Critchley attaches a Court Order that must be carried along with the Permit that list the firearm(s) you qualified with.
Disappointing..... but hopefully once the system gets tired of this redundant part of the process and removes the Judge from having to sign off..... stuff like this will disappear
Is it an 8.5 x 11 letter that you have to laminate and wear around your neck?

Thank you for reaching out. See minimum premium below.
Minimum premium for personal use firearm liability with liability limits of $100,000 per person / $200,000 per accident / $400,000 aggregate will start $599 - $1250+ per year.
If you accept the premium range, we will require a quick 5-10 minute discussion call with you prior to offering a formal quote. Let me know and we will proceed accordingly.
Thanks
Interesting. If they are actually offering it in New Jersey, that's great...

Don't forget, it's not "insurance" per se. It's a legal support service. Totally worth it in my opinion, but it's not insurance. If there is a civil judgment (or settlement) against someone, it won't act as insurance. I researched plans that include insurance and as soon as you try to check out with a NJ address, they basically cancel the check-out process.
I guess NJ feels that the only time there could be a financial risk against someone is if they were wrong in their actions, but in my opinion this is flawed. Civil liability standards are different from criminal and settlements don't imply fault necessarily.
I wish the NJ law against insurance would be challenged.

Update from this morning - I went back and insisted to speak with a detective. He said the records lady must have thought that I had been finger printed in the last 6 months and that If I had been finger printed within the last 6 months I do not need to get reprinted for the CCW/PCH application...Not even going to get into with him on whether that's true or not but I said I had not been printed in the last 6 months I had just put in for the permits. He said they will get me the info I need to schedule fingerprints later today.
I feel bad for all the people who are going to be delayed or denied because they got wrong info from their PD.
Never know when those fingerprints might change...

ITEM SOLD
I have a recently acquired Zastava ZPAP M70 (black Hogue furniture), already NJ compliant with a sweet Lantac brake, Zastava scope mount, and a Zastava triangle stock (comes with the pad, you will thank me). Comes with a 10 round magazine.
Recent production, purchased new in May of this year. With the exception of the upgraded Zastava Triangle Stock and the Lantac Muzzle Brake, everything else is original as when purchased.
It has under 200 rounds through it. I acquired a few of these and then had the opportunity to add a WBP Jack to my collection, so I have to give up one of my prized Zastavas.
Asking
$950$900, which is a deal considering the brake, triangle stock, Zastava scope mount, pad, and labor for the compliance work already done (only the brake needed compliance work). Comes with the original slanted brake, just to have. It's in mint condition.
I am in Monmouth county and can drop it off at Legend Firearms or Howell Gun Works to handle the transfer after payment received, so you can go whenever you want to do the NICS to pick up and it will be there for you.
The first to post "I'll take it" wins the sale

Dropped off my application package on July 15th. USPS money order still not cashed. No activity detected. Prints were also done. Ugh...

I had mine witnessed by a reference, fully signed before I dropped the materials off. Didn't have a problem.

I don't think this is the case, or at least that's not clear.

but if your app is simply returned then you aren’t actually denied…
I tend to agree with a prior poster that it's the reason for the denial. I also suspect we may see more applications returned versus rejected where the application is deemed "incomplete" in the case that new standardized requirements are announced and applied and pending applications do not meet the requirements. This was always an inherent risk on being an early applicant.
I just wish the process was a little more transparent on status. Confirmation of an accepted complete application would be helpful as a start, simply to make the applicant aware of whether anything else is needed.
