  1. The costs are exorbitant, and we’re still dealing with a moving target and towns that continue to make up their own rules. I also don’t think the state is done. They will continue to throw up more roadblocks.

My circle of friends are between the ages of 65 through 78.  Everyone on a fixed income. Most of us have lived in New Jersey all our lives and never had a carry gun except for a couple who were in the service in another state while serving. None of us have ever  had a need or situation for a firearm for needed protection either.

Any cost, every two years, is a waste of money in today’s economy. My sights are set on moving, not wasting my money just to thumb my nose and give a raspberry to the politicians of this state. Politicians have banked on this. Call it retreating to higher ground, but New Jersey has been sinking into the cesspool for decades.

While nobody was looking, Biden purged the third circuit, forcing out many Trump appointees.  At least two senior judges were forced out, and the openings filled with Clinton/Obama(soros) attorneys.  The junior vacancies were back filled with  radical leftists.

For example, Scott Brady was forced to resign in retaliation for being part of Trump's team of investigators looking into Biden and his son's corrupt dealings with Burisma in Ukraine.  Brady's assistant atty is acting in his stead, just until Biden appoints someone to the position.

The left has been working hard to stack the circuit courts too,  With the judicial branch being more politicized than ever, we are fucked.  If you were a Jew in 1938 Germany, you couldn't very well go to a German court for justice.  The same methods for marginalization and persecution is happening here, just more slowly and mostly under the radar.  This is what happens when people don't want to see how the sausage is made.

Just bcuz Alito oversees the 3rd, it does not mean he has control or authority over all that goes on.

Someone else is making those decisions for the Commander in Sleep. Joe doesn’t have an earthly clue.

Well no.  Many safeties block the sear.

But you have to have a safety to start with.

Some block the sear (M700). But that’s the same safety that for years until 1982 you could pull the trigger, push the safety off and the gun might discharge. Or, slam the butt on the ground and drop the firing pin from an overtinkered sear engagement with the safety off.

Many shotgun and rifle trigger groups of modern rifles and shotguns like 870, 1100, 760, 742, that drop out of the receiver  have a safety that merely limits rearward travel of the trigger. No sear is blocked.

AR trigger limits trigger travel, but that includes locking the sear engagement surface and movement to the hammer.

Pistol safeties with firing pin blocks, and blades in the trigger face are pretty sophisticated today, many today modulate a firing pin that is half or fully cocked rearward, ready to fly once the trigger is fully depressed and the trigger bar pushes rearward then drops away.

How did we manage all those years with revolvers that had no safeties?

Mas explains pros and cons of carrying chambered, and alternatives. Also, did you realize most ARs and shotguns are not considered drop safe and should stored/ready with an empty chamber?

Many safeties on rifles and shotguns today still do nothing more than block travel of the trigger.

When a 1911 safety is engaged, it will block the forward travel of the hammer while the grip safety limits rearward travel of the trigger. JMB knew what he was doing.

Pretty sure the safety lever equipped Sig M17 & M18 locks the sear and trigger bar in the upward position.

The P320 without a safety switch is a different story.

I've been looking to purchase a black sig p320 m18 factory new. I've only been able to find it in the tan color. Has anyone seen one for sale at any NJ shop? Supposedly the black was only sold to law enforcement.

The black M18 is out of stock many places, and I believe was discontinued.

In its place you can order this P/N :

    320C-9-BSS-MS-MA

But it will have a different rear sight and no removable plate for a red dot.

There is no doubt where this fool stands.

The same fool who spent 1/5 of the total statehouse refurbishment expense on a rug, the 1 item that will become the most trampled on and soiled and hence the first to be replaced. What a dope.completely out of touch. He wants “majesty ”? Kneel, ye peasants of New Jersey!

Let’s not forget an upgrade to Tammy’s office as well. Yes, all the wives/spouses nowadays have their own taxpayer-funded offices, staff, security, etc. They all live the life of luxury - of “majesty” as Phil puts it - without ever receiving a single vote. And they believe they “deserve” it. They’re not elected!!! No one in the press corps ever calls out this lout.

I'm currently in the process of submitting my NJ CCW paperwork. I'm a single father and had to put out almost $500 just to exercise my constitutional right! What happens to all the people that can't afford to put out almost $500 EVERY TWO YEARS? Do they not get the right to self preservation?

    • $200 Township/State Police permitting fees
    • Qualification $150
    • Fingerprinting $66.05
    • Photos $32

There was a segment on GFH radio yesterday where Sandy and Anthony commented on NJ people caving in and going along with  unconstitutional things in this state. Well, this is just another example. So many now are tripping over themselves to procure their PTC.

Before that we were making multiple trips to the local gun shop just to first buy a firearm, wait for the NICS to clear, then go back to the store to pick it up! When did it change from buy a gun and wait for NJSP NICS to clear you in fifteen minutes? And if you want some ammo now with that purchase, you must pay an additional $1.50 so your info is logged accordingly with the NJSP.  WTF!

For me this is a hard pass.  I’ll wait til I move to a constitutional carry state, where the color of the ink isn’t a criteria on an concealed carry application.

Any history of SCOTUS intervening in an active Federal Circuit case?

I see Phil Dunston Murphy is sporting his new coiffure. He must have his sights set on a higher office. Signing this bill will certainly gain him more national exposure. He’s got to do something to compete with Sir Gavin the Handsome on the West coast.

I’m confident it will be shot down in a court challenge. That being said, you have to do YOUR part and contribute to the cause.

Good overview on Reddit of how things will go down, and that we should prepare for the long haul.

In Somerset County no permits have been issued and there are some applications going back to early July. I read the tactic as "perpetual delay" . If the latest law proposal passes then the carry permits will be useless until such day that they can be challenged. Its not a short process.

Here we go to a class for a few hours then qualify to pass with some stringent requirements, submit to several FBI background checks, a mental health check and we are judged by the socialist NJ legislature as unqualified to carry. This is a sad situation folks. My only hope is that the few legislators that have carry permits will balk at the virtual carry ban.

Add to that list judge’s, prosecutor’s, mayor’s and wealthy A-listers of the community who have them. They will be affected as well.

Are you Nostradamus? Do you posses a time machine that you use to go into the future to hear verdicts before their issued?

How are you so certain that SCOTUS won't make a broad ruling that effects the remaining 6 or 7 states that are still "may issue". Why

can't you understand that NJ, CA etc cannot simply ignore SCOTUS rulings. Could NJ enact training requirements and fees to

compensate? Sure! It will slow us down but, it won't stop us. Those who are determined like myself will go through any training and

    spare no expense for this.

I was wrong, in some counties and towns, folks have been successful in getting their PTC’s. But it’s a trickle. Although completely dumbfounded, it didn’t take long for the common sense crowd in Trenton to put pen to paper and draft all-encompassing restrictions, which made it through a review today. October 27th we may find out just how far and how ugly Trenton intends to take this.
