  1. Guys, some inside information direct from a New Jersey assemblyman that strongly opposes A4769. The upcoming vote on Monday Nov 21 was a last minute surprise. Due to the short notice, attendance by assembly people is expected to be smaller than usual. They need 41 votes to pass the bill. I am told that if only 41 or 42 people actually show up to vote, the bill may not pass because some people don't want their vote to be the one that is responsible for the bill passing. Additionally, there are four specified democrats that we are possibly able to sway. Two of them are in mixed red/blue districts, meaning not hardcore dem district and the threat to their seats during the next election could be enough to persuade them to vote no. Two others are known to be reasonable minded people and logical persuasion might work. Assemblyman Paul D. Moriarty - 856-232-6700 and 856-401-3073 Assemblywoman Gabriela M. Mosquera - 856-232-6700 and 856-401-3073 Assemblyman Wayne P. DeAngelo - 609-631-7501 Assemblyman Roy Freiman - 908-829-4191 The assemblyman tells us that non-stop calls coming into the office (rather than emails) is paid attention to. If you keep their phones ringing off the hook we have the ability to influence their vote. Just be polite when doing so. He also tells us that, while we cannot testify, we can register our opposition and attend the vote on Monday. He says a show of force can also influence the vote of those that are on the fence. I am planning to head to Trenton on Monday. What can you do today? Keep calling these 4 assembly people, even if they don't represent your district. Let them know you oppose A4769! Just remember, its hard to convince someone to change their mind through harsh words and attacks. Make your opposition known like a pro! Today is the last business day before the vote. If you are going to call these offices, it needs to be today!

  3. Since we don't waste time prosecuting criminals, these judges have lots of free time to deal with us.
  4. You can subscribe to the bills through the NJ legislature website. You have to subscribe to the Assembly(A4769) and Senate(S3214) bills separately.
  5. Sensitive areas that coincide with the text, history, and tradition of the 2A. He specifically said you can't just arbitrarily go calling everything a sensitive place. There needs to be a historic analogue.
  6. thank you! I just posted over to the FB group, they'll likely tell me the same. Writing an email.
  7. Im your huckleberry. I've been paying $6.66 per month for the last 4 years to store my magazines with an FFL.
  8. More important than the fees are the penalties for ANY violation. Almost everything is a felony offense. In other states, misdemeanor or summons. With a felony (crime in NJ), you lose your gun rights and your guns, your right to vote, can certainly affect your job or prospects of getting a job. It can affect custodial hearings and things of that nature for the people unfortunate enough to have those kinds of problems. I mean, it can have long-lasting and irreversible effects. This can happen for accidental violations of the law, non-violent, non-dangerous mistakes. It ain't right. The Supreme Court would likely say this violates the 8th amendment and has a "chilling effect" on the right. People would be right to be scared to practice their 2A.
  9. Right. Typically, an indoor range will charge $25-$30 per hour. Now, for that same hour, they're getting $150-$200. Multiply that by 5 or 10 people qualifying at once, minus the cost of the main instructor and a couple of assistant instructors who might even be volunteers and its quite a racket.
  10. Not exactly. The statute states you can can carry any gun you wish. It also confers power to judges to add limitations. It is the judges issuing this court order saying you can only carry what you qual with.
  11. Which PD? Damn. For some reason I thought you had yours already. What town?
  12. No. Its going to be a flaming pile of dog shit and it will be forced through. However, we need to be there every step of the way, and when possible, participate.
  13. In my case, the detective at the PD was cool and we had an email thread going. He dropped me a line when he hand delivered. The following week, I also called the court and asked them to confirm receipt.
  14. Joe Danielsen is still trying to figure out how to reset his clocks.
  15. Got mine on November 7. 84 days total, 60 days at the court. Assembly Committee Live Stream on A4769 Moved to Noon
  16. For those of you who want to listen (possibly watch) the Assembly Judiciary Committee vote on A4769, the bill designed to nullify carry in PRNJ, the meeting has been moved to noon. Here is a link to where you can watch. https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/live-proceedings
  17. Monday is only a committee meeting. I believe the state Senate also has another committee meeting or two to get through. Once out of committee, it will go to the full Assembly for a vote and also a separate vote by the full Senate. Once both houses pass it, then it goes to Murphy who will sign it into law. So, it doesn't become law Monday. We're trying hard to never let this bill leave committee although I think thats a longshot.
  18. For those that still want to oppose A4769 send an email to: Denise Darmody Senior Section Secretary Office of Legislative Services Judiciary Section 609-847-3865 [email protected]
  19. Same! Also, we have a thread going in the New Jersey Firearm Owners Syndicate on Facebook motivating people to register. Over the last hour, well over 100 people registered from that thread alone. We need more!
