  1. I hear you but that's what they WANT. Its basically a fear of practicing 1A to defend 2A. I used to think this way too but now Im more like F this, I want my rights.
  2. No, there's a checkbox if you'd like to testify. If you don't want to then you can just select "Oppose"
  3. Since there's not alot of time between now and 3pm and presumably everyone in this thread values the right to carry, please take a peek at this thread and register your opposition to A4769 which will nullify our right to carry after all the hard work we've done to be "given permission to exercise our rights".
  4. Monroe and Pike had different forms. Additionally, Pike had a form you could type in, Monroe you need to fill it out by hand OR figure out how to type into a PDF.
  5. The giant unconstitutional turd known as A4769 is back in committee this coming monday at 10AM. As gun owners, its our right and responsibility to register our opposition to this flaming pile of crap. If you'd like to do so (or if you'd like to testify), please register your opposition before 3pm. *The form title is misleading. You can use this form to register opposition and/or testify. You do not have to testify in order to register your opposition. https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/live-proceedings/2022-11-14-10:00:00/AJU/Meeting/register-to-testify?fbclid=IwAR1bMVww15xxBi0qvQSR1ZZXDfTF3yhrlMeh0Olz9l2uOOTGZUhA8skYjuE
  6. Each county has their own rules. For example, if you go to the Monroe County site and download the application, the instructions say you need a notarized signature and a local PD sign off. I abandoned that and instead decided on Pike County. Applied online and they even accepted a digital signature on my PDF. The next morning they emailed me and we arranged to pick up my permit next Tuesday since they were booked this week. Easy peasy.
  7. The detective from my town let me know when he dropped it off but then I also followed up and called the court to verify.
  8. Carry the court order, carry the guns qualified with. That's it. I will carry a digital copy of the order and a backup photocopy in the glovebox or console just in case of a low phone battery.
  9. As promised, and ON topic, updating my timeline. Final timeline - Mendham Boro, Morris County 8/15 - Package submitted to PD 8/16 - Fingerprinted @ Identogo location 8/17 - Fingerprints processed 9/8 - Application hand delivered to Morris County Superior Court by detective from PD 9/15 - Called court to ensure they received my application. They confirmed they have it. 10/28 - Money order cashed 11/3 - Permit signed by judge 11/4 - Permit mailed to Mendham Boro PD 11/7 - Picked up from PD as soon as it arrived 84 days total. Exactly 60 days at the court. The only restrictions in the court order are: Carry the guns qualified with Carry the court order
  10. As Colion Noir says, his real name is Robert, and he refuses to call him Beto. He's just trying to appeal to hispanic population by calling himself Beto. FWIW
  11. And if you use Waze instead of Google maps, people are indicating cops on the map, in real time. I love the app for that feature, has saved me a few times.
  12. Updating my timeline: 8/15 - Package submitted to PD 8/16 - Fingerprinted @ Identogo location 8/17 - Identogo Message: Enrollment received - Your enrollment has been received and is being processed. 9/8 - Application hand delivered to Morris County Superior Court by detective from PD 9/15 - Called court to ensure they received my application. They confirmed they have it. Asked how far down the queue I am and he said over 100 :-( 10/28 - Money order cashed 74 days overall. 50 days at the court.
  13. Right. At this late stage, it does seem that some people could end up with expiring quals. I didn't even think of that but yes those quals are not cheap.
  14. In a lot of cases, one cannot bring a lawsuit or be a party to a lawsuit, until they have suffered some type of harm. You are suffering that harm now. And in this case, it involves your civil rights. Additionally, I think the libs are finally going to get slapped around by the court system. Hopefully, sooner rather than later.
  15. My PD told me they would give me a case number to use when enrolling for prints. So, I dropped the application off, they gave me the case number, I did my prints out of state, and the PD got them quickly. Also, I don't know that its a requirement to sign the mental health form in front of an officer. However, I asked ahead of time because one little mistake can put you right back at the beginning of the line. My PD said sign it with them and they will sign as witness. They were very helpful. Not all PDs are like this, I know.
  16. If an officer asked you if there is a weapon in the car, you have 2 choices: Tell the truth, whether it is yes or no. DO NOT LIE. Rather than lie, see option 2 Execute your 5th Amendment Right to remain silent. It is important to note, that the 5th Amendment is NOT self-executing. You actually have to state: "I am exercising my 5th Amendment Right to remain silent and not answer questions". The police CANNOT compel you to answer questions. Additionally, the Supreme Court has ruled that exercising your 5th Amendment Right to remain silent cannot be used as a basis for reasonable suspicion or probable cause. Possession of a firearm, in my opinion, is also not any sort of probable cause or reasonable suspicion. That officer would need to suspect you of committing, have committed, or about to commit a crime. But a generality, without a specific suspicion, that a firearm equals potential yet unspecified and unknown criminal activity, is on very shaky legal ground at best. Basically, an officer cannot search your car based on your decision to invoke the 5th. It is my understanding that they can pull you out and do a frisk (not a search) and possibly search the immediately accessible areas of the interior of the vehicle if they think you might have a weapon. The areas within the driver's (and maybe passengers, if any) immediate reach. I am not a lawyer. Sharing pieces of information that are of high interest to me that I have studied a bit. Also have a criminal justice degree which is where I remember some of this stuff from. Do your own research, don't rely on my opinion.
  17. What sucks is that those of us, like me, that week after week say to themselves "yet another week has passed... and nothing", Monday is a state and federal holiday. So, another day lost as we wait for "permission to exercise our rights".
  18. You can also watch 1st & 2nd amendment audits. Audit the Audit, Lackluster, Long Island Audit. Even innocent conversation is really being used to find ways to lock you up. Zip it.
  19. Indeed. If its in a holster, trigger guard covered, its not going to ND on its own. The moment you pull it out, the potential for the kind of mistake that makes all look bad is present. My thought would be that if the officers dont get some sort of automated notification that the person has PTC, I am not going to inform. We're not used to carry here in NJ, and even moreso, the officers aren't. Some are hostile, some are nervous, some are cool. Why try to figure out which one Im dealing with unnecessarily? I know Im not a threat but the officer doesn't necessarily know that. Although.... with the amount of BS we have to go through in NJ to get these permits, the fact that we have one should automatically make the officer feel more at ease.... in theory.
  20. Wondering if anyone yet has been pulled over in New Jersey, while carrying a weapon either openly or concealed. Interested in the following: Have you been pulled over while carrying? Did you inform? Did the officer know if you had a PTC? Did the officer ask if you had any weapons? Did the officer ask other related questions? What was the officer's demeanor? Aggressive, passive, concerned, etc? If you did inform the officer that you are armed, did you feel like it made you less likely or more likely to receive a ticket? Considering that many of us do not yet have our PTC, how do you think you might handle questions #1 and #2?
