It is county to county here in this crazy state. My permit (Atlantic County) lists the gun I qualified with on the back where restrictions are listed. I believe it will change shortly but I am going to check back with my local PD in a few weeks .

If it's non restricted, that gun listed means jack shit. Just if NJ listed the car you tested with on your DL exam. Nothing on that permit or license says this is all you can carry/drive. The 2c title the PTC os issue thru says "any gun on the holder of the gun"

"Rep. Hudson has introduced the bipartisan Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act in previous years. In Dec. 2017, the bill was passed by the House with a vote of 231-198, yet was not taken up in the Senate."

In 2017, Republicans had both chambers of congress and the White House, and the Bill wasn't even discussed in the Senate, much less voted on.

So I guess it's dead where it stands...what a shame.

I tried a search but came up with too many irrelevant results, I started the process then held back because of all the changes that was expected, so I have not gotten around to the qualification.  I’m looking to use Gun For Hire’s qualification, has anyone used them for their application?  Just wanted to make sure it was an acceptable qualification for the CCW…Sorry if this has been answered already somewhere.

@gunforhire is the place to go if you are close. Im in South Jersey, but did take the long drive to get my Utah CCW years ago.

I’m up in Sussex county. What do you think isn’t serious? I haven’t seen anyone who’s paperwork didn’t get to the county court prior to the new bill being signed say they were issued a carry permit by a town. The state hasn’t provided anyway from the chief of police to issue.

Here is a whole thread, just for you.

If I qualify (concealed carry) with, say, a Sig M17, but then i want to carry a Sig P365 (or any other NJ legal handgun, for that matter), can I? Or would i have to qualify with every handgun I want to carry (which is ludicrous, but I wouldn't put that past Murphy)?

    Thanks, Spud

Depends who you ask, and what county you are in.....

Some counties are mandating qual with the gun you carry.....

    Others no restrictions....

The law of the Permit says 1 permit covers all guns ....

    2C:58-4 Permits to carry handguns

2C:58-4. a. Scope and duration of authority. Any person who holds a valid permit to carry a handgun issued pursuant to this section shall be authorized to carry a handgun in all parts of this State, except as prohibited by subsection e. of N.J.S.2C:39-5. One permit shall be sufficient for all handguns owned by the holder thereof, but the permit shall apply only to a handgun carried by the actual and legal holder of the permit.

Here's the take on the ruling from The (Huffington Post-owned) Patch:

    https://patch.com/new-jersey/riverdell/s/ijep6/court-strikes-down-njs-new-concealedcarry-law

The article implies that the entire law has been enjoined.

Surprisingly, most of the 200+ comments are pro-2A.  Of course there are ones calling us "ammosexual" gun fetishists.

"We are disappointed by the Court’s ruling, which is inconsistent with the Second Amendment and will make New Jerseyans considerably less safe. But this temporary order is just that: temporary," state Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin said in a statement. "And we look forward to continuing to press our case, including ultimately on appeal."

What drugs is he on??  Making people unsafe, when his atty stated there is no data to back that up!

It would be great if the ANJRPC case being heard today can get the TRO expanded but this is certainly a good start. Of course I want the entire law declared unconstitutional but that will take time.

Today's case moved to Thurs. Judge was unprepared, and thought the case was only for Sensitive places. Gave both sides until 8pm Wed.

In the short-term, I'm now most bothered by the still-standing requirement that we have the carry insurance that we're not allowed to have in NJ.

Pretty sure that isn't in effect until July, per the bill.

Therein lies the problem as we've been lied to by these people over the past 50 years about what a healthy diet is.

    https://www.foodlies.org/

That is because for every diet out there, what part of it is good there's other parts that are bad. If you look at low carb diets they are high in fat. Low fat diets are high in carbs. If you want to be healthy you have to eat everything in moderation. Bread is good for you. There are good fats and bad fats. Lean meat and vegetables. Just have to be smart and what you eat, and portion control is the biggest part. That is where I have issues. I like my food and don't know when to quit.

ANJRPC Siegel case Hearing Notes (taken from reddit)

Siegel TRO hearing now Thursday 130pm, they will also argue the consolidation push by the state.

Judge Williams ordered all revised briefs to be submitted by 8pm Wednesday. She ordered simultaneous briefing by ANJRPC and the State. She will not review anything until after Wednesday 8pm. She said the court (she) does not work past 6pm. Lol. Looks like she will be reading the briefs Thursday AM and prepping for 130 hearing.

The TRO briefings will be amended to reflect anything from Koons TRO and Range Case.

The Range Case is no longer good law and state relied on it in several aspect of their original TRO opposition briefing.

She will not let this matter go into this week.

Judge Williams said Koons TRO has material impact on this case.

Judge Williams wants to fully study the Bumb ruling and the Range Case Matter.

Judge Williams didn’t think the law went into effect until July 2023, Dan Schmutter explained to her most of the law is in place and thousands of people constitutional rights are being violated and that his case is far broader than the Koons matter.

I didn’t think Judge Williams was that prepared for the hearing, but I also don’t think it was coincidence the TRO by Bumb was filed at 930. I think she knew it was coming and would give her time, also think she really wants to make sure she is ruling again a much more senior Judge Bumb.

Angela Cai, was there with the assistant AG. Several other AG office staff there. All looked under 25 years old.

From what we know, Judge Williams has to rule on the consolidation as was first case in, but unsure if she has to also take the case. I believe Judge Williams could agree to consolidate but then Bumb could be the Judge. Dan Schumutter wasn’t sure and needed to see if was procedural just for William To rules, but Bumb could take the case.

So they did appear in court, but judge moved it to Thursday?
