As far as I know there is a passing score of 80. We shot 50 rounds at a bottle target. The paperwork we submitted had our score on it. Might have changed after 12/22/22.

I am at 5 months and still waiting! 40 Days? You have a long wait in NJ no matter where you are! The time to get a CCP is ridiculous!

I understand most of it will be going digital so who knows 2 years from now.

Almost 5 months waiting in Wayne. There is absolutely no reason today for this to be taking so long. They have all the technology to check people out etc. Hopefully the renewal process won't be like this!

I submitted all my info in Wayne on 09/23/22. Still haven't received my permit. almost 5 months. It's unbelievable how long this takes. They say they have received many applications. But the time its taking is still too long in my opinion.

Submitted everything on 9/23/22. Still nothing, money order not cashed. Inquired several times and the local PD doesn't really tell you anything. This is in Passaic County. The courts are no longer involved. Everything is handled by PD and signed by the Chief. Latest issues Submitted in Aug. Early September. It shouldn't take this long at all. Hopefully I see mine in the next few weeks.

Waiting since September! Turned everything into Wayne PD. Now issuing is back to PD so I am still waiting. Anyone else experiencing this? Went there several times and they don't tell you much.

As far as I have been told o handed it in on 09/23/22 before the changes. PD informed me I still come under the original requirements only difference is local PD will be issuing signed by the Chief not the Judge.

Yes the process is very disturbing and very unfair from one town or county to the next. But these PDs should adhere to the 60 day time frame. But obviously they aren't held accountable in this. For paperwork to be sitting over 3 months is very disturbing and there has to be so many more behind me! My record checks will come back clear but I don't even know if they handled any of my application yet. They were given everything I was required to do. Very bummed out on the whole process!

But it's still total bs how these towns are handling this. For the courts to throw it back to the PDs with no guidance, permits etc. makes me think all this is being done on purpose to discourge applicants. My background is totally clear also. Never should take this long.

Put my paperwork in at my PD on 09/23/22. It is still there since the court has turned issuing over to the PD's. They are awaiting guidance, blank permits etc. This is almost unbelievable that its taken so long. This move to the PD's to issue just caused more confusion etc. Went to the PD today and just was told they are handling a ton of applications the best they can. The 60 day approval time limit means nothing to them. I am in Passaic County. I am not sure they even checked my mental health, background etc. yet. The officer did tell me I fall under the Pre 12/22 requirements for fee's etc. But who really knows. Totally disgusted with this process and the inability to find out where you stand on your application. Somebody needs to get this in order with one system of processing for everybody. Each town now is doing their own thing meanwhile law abiding gun owners suffer!

Contacted the court they told me all is being handled and issued through local PD. Went there and was told they are awaiting guidance and that they have no blank permits to issue etc. I applied late September and now it just sits at the local PD. Unbelievable. I believe the state is doing everything possible to confuse and discourage people from obtaining permits to carry. Now every PD will be handling it differently etc. Just more confusion etc. I expect this to take another several months etc. This is in Passaic County. The PDs are swamped with applications etc. Applications after 12/22 will need four references who the police have to contact. Can you imagine them making all these contacts and in some departments it will number in the thousands this after the references signed and attested to your character etc. This is just another roadblock the state is doing to not issue permits.

Turned all my paperwork into local PD on 09-23-22. Still haven't heard a word from anyone! I hear the court calls you to pick up your permit, now I hear they send the permits back to the PD. Just don't know what to believe now. A few people I know received their permits recently at the courthouse. does anyone know what the actual status is today? Are we still waiting for the court to call or are they sending the signed permits back to the PDs? Can someone update me on the Passaic County time frame and process?
