    Here is another noobie question for you guys.....hope your not sick of my questions yet.

     

    Whats the point of these snap caps I keep seeing? Do you have to put one in the chamber whenever you put your gun away or is it only when stored for monthes at a time?

     

    If you dry fire with one in the chamber does it get damaged? Any info is greatly appreciated.

    Snap Caps are made to dry fire to practice trigger control.....

    Well, I was on RT206 this afternoon in Andover/Newton area, and I stopped at this little gun shop/fishing store.

    Between the GTO paintjob...... and a motorcycle purchase in the near future, I need to be happy with the firearms I already have.....

    Well, I was on RT206 this afternoon in Andover/Newton area, and I stopped at this little gun shop/fishing store.

     

    Low and behold... a fully stocked arsenal!!!

     

    He had a 686..... and for an awesome price. But then he placed a Colt Python in my hand...... OH MY! :shock:

     

    Then he also had a M&P15 AR there for over $200 less then the Silver Bullit had it for.... only $999.00

     

    He had a ton of neat stuff...... Sold the Sig AR while I was standing there...

     

    I had to leave......... the little voices in my head where getting too loud :twisted:

    Honestly my favorite public shooting range in NJ... ;) The rentals are really expensive but the staff is friendly and relaxed. I wish the lanes were a bit wider and more open space, I feel kinda couped up in there sometimes.

     

    NJ? The place is in Pa. =P

     

    I wondered what that toll was for :lol:

    I called around locally, and the only bit of optimism was at Silver Bullet in Rockaway. They're possibly expecting a couple in next week, but have no more details than that. I may have to take a ride south this week.

    Well, I just stopped by the Silver Bullet......

     

    I went into look at the M&P15ORC he had........ it was sold already $1200. Began browsing around, and not knowking crap about anything, I asked about some black rifle that was mixed in with the .22's near the end.....

     

    It was a Saiga 7.62 ..... $425.00...... Oh my...... oh my....

     

    Please someone give me the cliff notes on Black Rifles .... .223 vs. 7.62 , and why shouldnt I spend 1/3 the price of an M&P and get a cool rifle....

    I just dont understand the differance yet..... calibers - features - nj legal?

    The Hercules Trap & Skeet Club does exist.....

     

    Its sort of a private club with no membership.....

     

    We shoot on Sunday's only from 10am till about 2pm

     

    Trap/Skeet or whatever it is on one side..... and to the right a 50yd pistol range.

     

    PM me for details..... I am sort of the unofficial pistol Range Officer over there....LOL

    Harry.... runs the club is very strict on safety, so he keeps an eye on the pistol range

     

    No Centerfire rifles

     

    Black Powder is OK

     

    No metal targets even for .22lr

     

    Must bring your own target stands

     

    I do plan on being there this Sunday

    Just got my label to send back via email.

     

    called up Smith customer service. they said to mail the whole gun in. As far as ETA, they are just getting started on the recalls, and may take as long as a month or longer to get it back. Wow.

     

    i am going to be without a 22lr for a whole month... not counting the walther carbine.

     

    Yeah.... just got mine also.......

     

    Gonna shoot the crap out of it this weekend.....then I will send it in....
