whats it matter how loud it is? if youre ever shooting any kind of gun without hearing protection, you deserve to get hearing damage in the first place. same thing goes for chainsaws.
i have shot my original bushmaster upper with the AK comp, then a plain barrel version the same day. there is a noticeable decrease in recoil and muzzle rise. but again, its not a 12ga slug you're shooting either way.

if you already know of the illegal features, dont buy a gun that has them. easy as that, and no worry about jail time.
-
so youre talking about ONE specific incident, which may have been a mistake, somehow. yet the 99.9999% of the other rifles on the rack in any given NJ store will be NJ compliant. while someone with a class III or whatever else you need to buy an 'assault rifle' could legally own one, i highly doubt a store will buy and stock a gun thats illegal to 99% of their customers, just on the chance that someone with a class III will walk in and buy it.

if its for sale in a NJ gun shop, it will be NJ legali know 100% fact, that this is definitely not the case.
then how is the gun shop not getting in trouble for possession/selling of an illegal firearm
-
everyone you can think of makes an NJ compliant. even with the BS laws, we're still a big market for ARs. bushmaster, CMMG, colt, DPMS. if you dont see it on the rack, ask for it. any store can get nearly any regular item you want.

i just got a tiger stripe 870, 18.5 bead with extension for $420 out the door at meltzers. i went there, both ramsey outdoors, and today at BH, and meltzers was the cheapest; and only place that had this color. theyve never treated me or my family wrong in the 40+ years we've been going there.
ramsey wanted 455 for an 18.5 breecher barrel, and 400 for a plain, all black 870.
the 870 police and the like may have better parts, but think about how many thousands upon thousands of 870 express's have been hunting for 40+ years, without fail? unless the movie red dawn happens or zombies attack, none of us will ever put a gun through what it can actually take. that goes for an express, police, 500, 590A1, etc. etc.
case in point; 15+ years ago my parents got me an 870 express combo package for xmas, and my first 12ga hunting shotgun. came with a shorter rifle site dear barrel, and a regular long barrel with chokes. racking both the express and new tiger stripe together, side by side, they sound and feel identical.

speaking of FFLs, who has one here, and is not part of a store? any more or less 'private citizens' with one? every store i go to wants $75+ for a new gun transfer. is that as cheap as you get, or can someone do better?

am i alone in noticing he has camo curtains?

are you the same 'marka' from frrax

my god thats ugly. even worse looking then the california grip thing they make. i dont want a (legal) adj. stock that bad.
as far as recoil lining up with your shoulder...its not like this is a 12 gauge.
-
and yet it doesnt have a wrench to tighten the nut for a collapsible stock?
-
as long as it meets a minimum length, you can do anything you want to a pump.
-
hah......nice. dont have a clue as to how to replace one though

I see RayRay has not been here yet so I must just steal his thunder and say...GET AN XD!
blah to that. ive never had any 'bite' with my G21, and i have very big hands.

I've been more of a "hunting weapon" kinda guy for the majority of my life but when I turned 21 I decided to buy my first handgun, a Springfield 1911. Ever since then I find that I get more and more enjoyment out of shooting that than my 870 or .22 rifles. With that being said I'm afraid of wearing the gun down since I shoot 50-100 rounds every time out. What are the common areas to look for wear, and what should be replaced every x number of rounds as preventative maintenance?well, look who it is......small world.
guns arent cars. they dont need things like preventative maintenance. only if you shoot competitively, around 10K rounds per year, will things like barrels and springs wear out. there are more 100 year old guns with 100K+ rounds through them still shooting, bone stock, then there are 100 year old cars with 100K miles on them.

the shark and bear insurance is an extra cost, but i hear the new 2011 models are going to be manbearpig resistant.

why would you ever need a belt that can tow a truck......

9mm. id only get a 380 in a very, very small gun for utmost concealability. i have a baby sigma 380, and thats about as small as id go. if you plan on carrying it anyway......if you want it just for plinking or whatever....id still go with 9mm just for the extra power and a little bit easier to get ammo.
Does anyone own a WWII era 1911?

my uncle has a civilian model 1911, made in 1912 or so. still shootable. if you ever do find a vintage gun, parts kits are a dime a dozen. if you want the next best thing, springfield makes the GI 1911, a copy of the military issue. parkerised, near useless sites, everything.
