Rifle looks great. I am going to have to post pictures up of my k98. Just picked up a BYF45 locally.
-
I was referring to Shane45's post about getting one of the rifles from Wideners.
-
Never heard of having to write a letter. I drop it off at the Station, and pick it up later on that day.
-
I will be buying one of these. Thanks for the link!
Did you end up getting one? Ive been looking to get one for some time, just wanted to know the condition yours came in?
-
Once you get used to "aiming down the sights" it's hard to go back to games that don't do that. I tried playing DoD for the first time in 3-4 years a few weeks ago and i couldn't hit anything :doh:Its not that bad, Im still playing DOD:S just for realism. Ill join the steam group too.
-
Yea I got mine also, afraid to open it because I know Ill be opening up the wallet.
-
Just saw this....Done.

Yea didnt want to risk driving anywhere in my Mustang, so im working from home lol

My Stag Model 2 Up top, and my brother new Stag Model2 @ Bottom. Got him into AR's and he really liked my rifle so Ive been helping him out.

While we're on the subject of Garands, what's the general consensus on Garands like the ones AIMSurplus sells? http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx? ... groupid=12Obviously quite a bit more expensive, but, are they worth the extra money?
Havent seen one in person but it appears to be close to a Special Grade from CMP, which is new stock, barrel, and other refinished parts.
-
Ok cool, Ill have to stop in at the local bank and get that done, I sent out for the Garand Collectors Ass yesterday. I saw they had the Special Grades 100 off and you can preorder on the E-store to hold them for 14 days. And as I mentioned before the Service grades that have been going out are in excellent shape from what I seen on ar15.com
-
Man, I was thinking of jumping on one soon. Seeing pictures on other forums of the service grades coming in recently looking MINT. Did the order form have to be signed and stamped by a notary?
-
Id go with Troy, and they just dropped prices on the BUIS too!
-
Unfortunatly you bought high and they are now selling low. $900 wasn't too bad of a price but they are going new up here depending on the model from $800 to the 9's.Did you think about just selling the upper and building on the lower?
Even if I sell it for $750~800, I would be happy.
I dunno... there is so much I want to do with the damned thing that sometimes it makes sense just to build a whole new upper.
What I really want is a mid-length 16" upper with a 1/7 twist chrome lined barrel with standard (AR) hand guards and an A2 stock. It would be like a "mini-M-16" utilizing irons or my optic.
Making all those changes to my current AR is cost prohibitive.
So much I can do... so little money...
Just sell the upper and pickup one from Bravo Company or something? They have a huge selection to fit your needs.

To give you an Idea, I picked up a Stag Model 2 new last week for 850.
-
How much do HD charge for the conversion?I'm pretty sure it was 50$

contact these guys. (http://shop.hendersondefense.biz/main.sc)They will get you a double stack WASR10, go over it and ship it out for about $420 with a 15/30 magazine. Highly recomended!!!!
Saves you big over Saiga build if you dont want to risk it and gets you a picked gun with a quaranntee.
+1 On henderson, they modified a Arsenal rifle for me from K-var and make it NJ legal. Welded the Muzzle break, removed bayonet lug wings, and blocked the mag to 15.
Here it is

If its a Stag its a longer then standard buffer tube, however they are mil-spec diameter. I asked Stag about this when looking to change stocks and this is the exact email I received:Jason,
Our post-ban rifles utilize a mil-spec diameter buffer tube, but it is longer than the standard buffer tube and there is only one hole for the buttstock to attach to.

Wow, thanks for the info!
So does this mean I can slip a VLTOR Emod onto the existing buffer tube and simply bolt it into the one hole?
Honestly not sure, I mean looking at the VLTOR Emod if you have a place to put that screw back in, it would be ok. I was going to get a 6 position buffer tube, and a CTR Stock and pin it.
If you can remove the one that comes in the stock and use the screw that came with the rifle there shouldn't be a problem.

And in an attempt to not totally derail Jsko's thread (sorry bud ):
Jsko - Nice AR! Do you have any close up pix of the C-Products mags? I've never completely understood how they block off their mags to only hold 15.
Ill get some tomorrow for you
