  1. thank you everyone for your input on this. much appreciated!!
  2. Hoboken was A+ first time applying for an FID card when i was living there and they were very helpful and got it turned around a day after all the paperwork came back - called me and said my FID was ready and apologized because their laminator wasnt working but i could pick it up and come back in a week or so if i wanted them to laminate it for me. Moved to Weehawken and they "lost" my paperwork for a change of address until i pointed out they cashed the check attached to it, had extra paperwork they made me fill out and a meeting with a detective, and then you have to meet with the chief when you pickup the card... the detective and chief were nice enough to deal with but it was a pain.
  3. I have two legal handguns and an FID card issued to me at my primary residence in North Jersey. I also lease another residence year round, but really only use it during the summer, in South Jersey. What does the law state about me having guns at my second residence? My fear would be that if there is ever an incident the address on the FID won't be that where the guns are at. What about if i'm stopped while driving with a firearm between one house and the other? thoughts/comments?
  4. so last August I moved into Weehawken from Hoboken. At the time I was already the holder of a FID issued by Hoboken. When i moved i went down and filled out the paperwork to update the address on my FID. they sent letters out to my references again, which they both mailed back, and then i forgot about all this. Now fast forward till now. I had to go down to city hall to get a new parking permit and that reminded me that I never heard back about the FID. I stopped by the records office and was told a.)they have no record of my app b.)apps are 'only good for 6 months so even if you filled it out last august, if you didnt get it in 6 months you need to start over c.)you would have had to meet with the Chief before they give it to you anyway. Where in all this lies the truth? I don't see how a meeting with the chief or any of this other nonsence should be necessary for something as simple as updating the address on a FID that was issued in early 2009. Has anyone else had any experience w/ Weehawken PD?
  5. two part question: 1.)can one possess an AR15 in NJ? 2.)I'm down vacationing in Florida where these are pretty cheap. What is the procedure to an out of state (in person) purchase? Do I walk in to the store here, wait the three days, and take my gun home and do nothing? do I need to fill out paperwork back in NJ? thanks in advance!
