I am very pleased to announce that Alan Gottlieb, founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, and Chairman of the CCRTKBA will be making an appearance at the NJ2AS Free Brian Aitken Rally. Also in attendance will be NRA Board Member and ANJRPC President Scott Bach. Well known NJ101.5 Radio Personality Dennis Malloy has agreed to help with the proceedings, and many of our most supportive NJ Legislators, such as ASM Michael Patrick Carroll and ASW Allison Littel McHose will be speaking on Brian's behalf. The number one Conservative Blog Site - ConservativeNewJersey.com will also be well represented. The event is being held at the American Legion Post 129 on 2025 Church Road in Toms River, NJ 08752 on Sunday December 12, 2010 starting at 2:00pm. For an updated list of speakers and further information, please check our website at www.nj2as.com. All in all it will be a GREAT program. But most importantly, we must keep the focus on petitioning Governor Christie to grant Brian a FULL pardon, and release him from prison in time for Christmas. THAT is the focus of the rally. Brian's family has requested that any signs reflect the message that we are asking Governor Christie to pardon Brian. I am passing that request along to you. Thank you.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Steve Malzberg, the very well known WOR News Talk Radio Host will be discussing the Rally to free Brian Aitken on his show this Monday afternoon 11/29/10 at around 4:15pm or so. Please tell anyone who might be interested to tune in. Steve is a big proponent of individual rights, and the Second Amendment. He is as appalled by the severity of Brian's sentence as the rest of us.

Consider this!

The point being that *VIOLENT* crime rates are *UP* in spite of their restrictive laws. -
If someone tries to tell you that gun control works - show them this article. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/26/nyregion/26crime.html

A Thought For Thanksgiving
Frank Jack Fiamingo replied to Frank Jack Fiamingo's topic in General Discussion
*YES*! a HUGE Plus One on *THAT*! -
Let's all be thankful for the Freedoms we enjoy today, Work diligently to regain the Freedoms we have lost, and *FIGHT* to retain our Freedoms in the future. Happy Thanksgiving America!

Well, I will try to make sure he sees the ones I collect, even if I have to deliver them to him in person. I am for approaching this from all angles, as long as we keep it respectful. At this point, we have no reason to think that Governor Christie is antagonistic toward our goal. Unless or until he proves otherwise, I am going to assume that he just needs to be educated by us on the seriousness of the injustice done to Brian. There is no reason why we can't bring up the petition on his FaceBook Page.

Honestly, one of the things that Michael Patrick Carroll told us at the meeting is - form letters don't work. It would be better to circulate the petition, or encourage people to send INDIVIDUAL letters. Basically, he said form letters, post cards and repeats usually get tossed into the circular file, while individually written letters get read. Just a thought.

Hi all. The New Jersey Second Amendment Society is circulating a petition to BRING BRIAN HOME BEFORE CHRISTMAS. Please download and circulate the petition. Please get the signed petitions to Governor Christie ASAP. We can DO this! The petition can be downloaded from the home page of our website - www.nj2as.com.

Understood. The trick is to harness that anger and help us to change things. This is not our father's New Jersey. Even though the Heller and McDonald decisions, in and of themselves, will not automatically change NJ's gun laws - they definitely *DO* change the playing field. In the same way that a firearm in the hands of a well-trained individual can be a powerful tool in a defensive situation, these decisions give us new and powerful tools with which to defend our rights. I don't blame you for being impatient, Every day Brian sits in prison makes me nauseous. That could be me or a member of my family. So, while his lawyers work on his appeal, and now that the papers have been filed asking for clemency, *WE* can at the VERY least, download the petition from the website, get signatures, and respectfully let Governor Christie know that we want Brian released before Christmas. The more people who do this, the more likely Governor Christie is to look into it and respond. The NJ2AS will do what it can to raise awareness of Brian's situation, but each one of us as individuals should take the opportunity to let our friends and neighbors know, EVEN the ones who are not necessarily pro gun. Brian's situation points out all that is DANGEROUS about NJ's gun laws. I think everyone can sympathize with being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and being trapped in a system that doesn't respect your rights as a human. You will get your chance to help us change things. Stay tuned.

One thing we can do is start to identify candidates who understand the meaning of rights and freedom, and support them. If we can't FIND them, then we need to BECOME them. Nature KNOWS we are a HELL of a lot smarter than a LOT of them. That is we we haven't run in the past :-), and yet why we MUST run in the future. I know it seems contradictory, but if we are not willing to replace THEM with more of *US*, then what the hell are we talking about?
