  1. he graduated a year after me at Ocean. lots of non-hostile related deaths in Iraq. Sickness, accidents and even murder. There was an airman who was murdered at Bucca around the same time I was there (not a Bucca but Iraq).
  2. I heard he warned his victims that he was about to get all medieval on their a**es.
  3. "Officer, that's for javelin practice, that's for my lumberjack business (part time) and that's from my work as a knight at Medieval Times. I'm well-rounded, now if you will please hand me back my box of dum dums, I'll be on my way. Oh the dum dums, those are for my biscuit which pumps lead, part time."
  4. I have a butterfly knife and an 18" blade that I got in Iraq. I would never think about carrying that outside of my home but I would possibly carry the butterfly knife in my car but I don't think I have a valid reason for other than self defense. Instead, for self defense, I carry a blunt metal dumbbell bar. "I was transporting equipment and I guess it got misplaced under my seat."
  5. Thanks. I dumped my hollow point hydra shocks already (gave them to a friend in Arizona who may need them more than me). That's my worry that if I'm ever in a situation where it's found that there's a handgun at my dwelling, some cop may deem that illegal even if it's not and I can't provide a bill of sale. I guess I should look for that in the meantime as I prepare my application.
  6. I've noticed a lot more conservatives (or common sense leaning individuals) in NJ in the last year than I've ever noticed. When that bubble bursts and you're still paying out the ass in property taxes for corrupt school unions and failing abbott districts, it's enough to drive anyone to the right. As far as gun laws, I've noticed a lot of moderates don't care if guns are banned all together. They seem to think it will be safer if law abiding citizens don't have access to firearms. People in most parts of NJ don't raise their children the same way they do in the midwest and red states. Young boys in redder states are more familiar with firearms at a young age and learn respect for guns. Most of the liberals in this state have never fired a gun and would never in a million years consider buying one, so they don't care.
  7. You were perfectly legal to purchase while active duty. In NJ there is no pre-ban/post-ban on mag capacity or banned firearms, there's just banned. The Ruger P345 and P90 are both legal as far as I know, so you're good to go. I bought guns while I lived in Ohio and I have zero paperwork for them so don't sweat it not having a bill of sale. I'm not suggesting that it wouldn't be helpful to have but it's not necessary. Buy your ammo online if you need to. I lived in NJ for 12 years before I got my purchaser ID. It's certainly a something you should get but it's not a requirement to have a gun in your home or to take it to the range. Thanks, everyone has been really helpful. I read through the statutes and couldn't find anything regarding my situation. While I don't agree with the laws, I always acknowledge them and do my best to abide by them.
  8. Really? I was thinking about that. That's legal for me to do?
  9. by the way, this board is awesome. I'm so happy I found it.
  10. I'm not AD anymore, but yes I did buy it while I was. Bill of sale? That may be hard to dig up after multiple moves. I want to get FID for NJ but need to clear up an issue (see meds as a teen thread). I'm looking into talking with a lawyer. I should be slapped for not staying in AZ.
  11. It's a Ruger .45, would that be illegal? Can I keep the ammo I have? I was at Davis-Monthan in Tucson. Never went down to that methlab in the desert known as Sierra Vista where Huachuca is but met a lot of soldiers who came up to Tucson for the "night life." Were you Army Intel?
  12. Any update on this? I have virtually the same situation as you. I saw a phychologist around the same time as a teen ('99 ish) and then to a psychiatrist who prescribed me with what I refer to now as Generation Y puberty meds. I took for 2 weeks and told my Mom I didn't want to take meds or see anyone anymore. My hormones were just rampant lol. I got stuck on the application too when I saw that block. Seems foolish to disapprove because of it but I don't want to disclose and have that be the factor that for some reason does disapprove me. I honestly don't know why I decided to move back to NJ. It's so expensive and liberal criminal supporters put the vice grip on normal folks. If only we had a President who ran on "Scope and Range" instead of bozo's :hope:
  13. Apologize, I'm a new member and understand this may have been discussed but cannot find the topic. Anyway, while I was in the military I legally purchased a handgun in the free land of Arizona. Because they don't require law abiding taxpayers to jump through hoops and obtain permits or registrations, I have no "paperwork" regarding my legal purchase. (FYI, I did not have an Arizona DL but an Active Duty Military ID was sufficient). Anyway, do I have to get a weapon's ID to keep my handgun and FMJ rounds in NJ?
